Without the slightest hesitation, Mu Xue offered her hand to Ning Yu. Ning Yu pulled her to his side, grabbed another teammate with his other hand, and together they leaped into the weak point of energy.
Almost the instant they entered, a deafening explosion erupted behind them, causing the entire earth to tremble violently, as if it were about to crack open at any moment. A powerful shockwave, mixed with scorching heat, swept past them like an invisible behemoth.
Ning Yu and the others pressed themselves tightly against the ground, holding their breath, feeling as if their bodies were being torn apart. Faced with this devastating power, they seemed so small and so powerless.
After an unknown amount of time, the tremors and roars finally subsided, and the world returned to calm. Ning Yu slowly raised his head, looked around, and found that they were now in a small space surrounded by energy barriers that shimmered with strange light.
"We...we survived?" A team member's voice trembled, filled with relief and disbelief at having survived the ordeal.
“I guess so…” another team member muttered to himself, his face still showing signs of fear.
Ning Yu didn't speak, but silently stood up, walked to the energy barrier, and carefully observed the surrounding environment. The space wasn't large, and its shape was very irregular; with more than a dozen people crammed inside, it felt extremely crowded.
“This should be the entrance to that passage,” Ning Yu said, pointing ahead. “We must find the exit as soon as possible, otherwise we will be trapped here again once the energy barrier disappears.”
Mu Xue walked to Ning Yu's side and followed his gaze. She saw that the energy barrier in front of them seemed to be weaker than other places, and she could vaguely see the blurry scenery on the other side.
"That looks like a way to get there," Mu Xue said, pointing in that direction.
Ning Yu nodded and said decisively, "Let's go, let's go take a look!"
The group moved cautiously in that direction, afraid of touching the surrounding energy barriers. The space was cramped, forcing them to keep their bodies low and bend over as they moved forward, making movement very difficult.
"Watch out!" Ning Yu, who was walking in front, suddenly warned in a low voice, while reaching out to stop Mu Xue behind him.
"What's wrong?" Mu Xue asked, puzzled.
Ning Yu didn't answer, but stared ahead with a solemn expression, a hint of unease flashing in his eyes. He felt an invisible pressure surging in from all directions, the surrounding walls... seemingly squeezing inwards...
"Boom—"
With a loud bang, the surrounding walls really began to squeeze inward! The already cramped space was further compressed, and it felt as if the air was being squeezed out, making it feel suffocating.
"What's happening? Is this place going to collapse?!" the team members shouted in panic, their faces filled with fear. They desperately tried to hold the wall back, attempting to stop the disaster, but the wall was too strong, and their resistance seemed insignificant.
"Ah!" Mu Xue was squeezed in the corner and couldn't move. She cried out in surprise as a wall approached her.
Seeing this, Ning Yu pulled her to his side without thinking and used his body to block the approaching wall.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue's heart clenched. She could feel Ning Yu's body trembling. The strength of that wall was beyond imagination, almost crushing them.
"Don't be afraid, I won't let anything happen to you." Ning Yu gritted his teeth and said with difficulty, his tone revealing an unwavering determination.
“But…” Mu Xue wanted to say something, but Ning Yu interrupted her.
"Believe me!"
Ning Yu let out a low roar and suddenly exerted force with both arms, trying to push the wall back. However, the wall did not budge and instead pressed down on them even more forcefully.
"Snap—"
The sound of bones breaking was particularly jarring in the silent space. Ning Yu groaned, a trickle of blood spilling from the corner of his mouth, but he still didn't give up, his eyes bloodshot as he struggled against the wall.
The other team members also tried their best to stabilize themselves, but the squeezing force was too terrifying. They were like a small boat in a raging storm, and could be swallowed up at any moment.
"This won't do, we'll all be crushed to death here!" one of the team members shouted in despair.
"Isn't there any other way?" Another team member's voice trembled, with a hint of crying.
A sense of despair began to spread through the ranks, and everyone felt powerless and fearful.
Just then, Ning Yu suddenly felt a powerful suction force surging out of his body, and the energy within him was being drained away at an alarming rate...
"Oh no, my superpower..." Ning Yu's expression changed drastically. He looked around, his eyes quickly scanning the small space. He had to find the energy source as soon as possible!
"Ning Yu, what's wrong?" Mu Xue keenly noticed that something was wrong with Ning Yu and asked anxiously.
Ning Yu didn't answer. Large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead, his face was frighteningly pale, and his lips had lost all color. Maintaining this "energy wall" had exhausted all his strength. He was now like a puppet whose internal organs had been drained, barely able to stand.
"Captain, are you alright? Don't scare us!" The team members also noticed Ning Yu's unusual condition and rushed over in a panic.
Ning Yu shook his head weakly, indicating that he was fine, but he knew in his heart that if he couldn't find a way to replenish his energy, he would not only be unable to protect everyone, but he himself would probably be in danger.
The walls continued to press down, making a teeth-grinding sound, as if they were about to crush them all at any moment. The team members cried out in despair, some even giving up resistance and letting themselves be squeezed into the corner.
