At the end of the passage, instead of the expected light, there was a deep, eerie blue. The deep blue light filled the entire space, like the profound sky of a polar night, eerily silent. The team members unconsciously held their breath, afraid of disturbing something.
"Is this... where the Overlord resides?" a team member whispered, his voice echoing in the empty space, tinged with unease.
Ning Yu did not answer. He looked up, his gaze fixed on the center of the space. A colossal building stood majestically, like a sleeping steel behemoth. The entire building was cast from an unknown metal, its surface shimmering with a cold luster. Countless intricate patterns spread like veins, faintly radiating a chilling energy fluctuation.
“Such a strong energy reaction…” Mu Xue, who had been silent all along, spoke up, her voice carrying a hint of solemnity, “These energy devices are probably more dangerous than any defense system we’ve encountered before.”
Ning Yu nodded slightly, his gaze sweeping over the area around the building. Sure enough, the area wasn't empty; various strangely shaped devices were scattered around, radiating a dangerous light. These devices were interconnected, forming an impenetrable energy network that firmly protected the entire building.
"Looks like this 'Dominator' is afraid of dying," one team member couldn't help but joke, though his tone betrayed his nervousness.
"Better safe than sorry, it's always good to be cautious," Ning Yu said in a low voice. "Let's observe carefully first and find a breakthrough."
No one dared to be careless. They moved cautiously along the perimeter of the building, carefully observing their surroundings. Every step felt like walking on a knife's edge; the slightest misstep could trigger a mechanism and cause unpredictable consequences.
Time ticked by, the air seemed to freeze, oppressive and suffocating. Just then, Ning Yu suddenly stopped, his gaze fixed intently ahead.
"What's wrong?" Mu Xue asked, following Ning Yu's gaze, only to find nothing in front of her.
Ning Yu didn't answer, but slowly stretched out his hand and pointed forward. Only then did everyone realize that not far in front of them, space seemed to be slightly distorted, as if something terrifying was hidden beneath the calm surface of water.
"What is that?" one of the team members exclaimed, his voice filled with fear.
Ning Yu remained silent, staring intently at the distorted space, his expression more solemn than ever before. He sensed a powerful force gathering there, as if it would erupt at any moment.
"careful!"
Before he finished speaking, a blinding light suddenly burst forth from the distorted space, and then a black figure rushed out from the light, heading straight for Ning Yu's face!
"Ning Yu!"
Mu Xue exclaimed in surprise, wanting to rush forward to help, but found her body suddenly weak, her steps faltered, and she almost fell to the ground...
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue exclaimed, wanting to go forward to help, but found that her body suddenly felt weak, her steps faltered, and she almost fell to the ground.
"Ah Xue!" The other team members quickly helped Mu Xue up, their faces full of worry. Since being injured in the last battle against the "Scavenger" organization, Mu Xue's body had not fully recovered. Although she had been able to participate in battles after this period of rest, prolonged strenuous exercise was still too much for her.
"I'm fine..." Mu Xue took a deep breath, enduring her discomfort, her gaze fixed on Ning Yu's direction, "Ning Yu, he..."
Despite the sudden attack, Ning Yu remained completely calm. He swiftly dodged the attack from the black figure. Missing its initial strike, the black figure traced a strange arc in the air before lunging at Ning Yu once more.
"So fast!" Ning Yu was secretly shocked. The speed of this black figure even surpassed that of any enemy he had encountered before. He dared not be careless. With a thought, several wind blades instantly appeared around him, slicing towards the black figure.
"Clang! Clang!" The wind blades collided with the black figure, producing a crisp metallic clang, but it did not cause any damage to the black figure. Instead, it provoked an even more ferocious attack.
"What kind of monster is this?" one of the team members exclaimed, his voice filled with fear.
"Don't panic, it should just be some kind of energy entity, not a living thing." Ning Yu dodged the black figure's attacks while carefully observing its movements. "As long as we find its energy source, we can destroy it."
"But where is its energy source?" another team member asked anxiously.
Ning Yu didn't answer. His gaze swept over the surrounding energy devices, and a thought suddenly struck him. He noticed that whenever the black figure launched an attack, the surrounding energy devices would flicker, as if providing it with energy.
"Could it be..." Ning Yu's heart stirred, and a bold idea arose spontaneously, "These energy devices are its energy source?"
With that in mind, Ning Yu no longer hesitated and decided to take the risk. While dodging the attacks of the black figure, he moved closer to the nearest energy device.
"Ning Yu, what are you doing?" When Mu Xue saw Ning Yu's actions, she immediately had a bad feeling and quickly spoke up to stop him.
"Trust me, Xue," Ning Yu said without turning her head, her tone filled with determination.
He approached the energy device and carefully examined its structure. The device had a very peculiar shape, resembling a giant eye, with its central "pupil" emitting a ghostly blue light. Ning Yu reached out and touched the "pupil," a chilling sensation sending a shiver down his spine.
