"This is it!" Ning Yu suddenly stopped and pointed to a relatively open corner ahead. "Everyone, come here quickly!"
Although the team members didn't understand his intentions, they followed him to that corner without hesitation. The moment they stood firm, countless rocks rained down from the sky, completely blocking the passage they had been in.
"That was close!" The team members patted their chests, still shaken. If Ning Yu hadn't discovered this corner in time, they would probably have been buried alive by the rubble.
"Look there!" Mu Xue suddenly pointed to a unique floor tile in the corner and exclaimed.
That tile was a slightly different color from the others, and it had a strange symbol engraved on it.
"It's here!" Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat. He quickly walked to the paving stone and stomped on it hard.
With a loud "boom," the entire maze shook violently, and the falling stones stopped moving.
Ning Yu raised his head and looked ahead. The passage that had been blocked by falling rocks had now revealed a new path...
"We did it?" one of the team members said incredulously.
“No,” Ning Yu shook his head, his gaze deep and solemn, “this is just the beginning…” The newly appeared passage was dark and deep, as if leading to an unknown abyss. Although they had just experienced a life-or-death moment, Ning Yu and the others showed no relief on their faces, but rather became even more solemn.
“Let’s go,” Ning Yu took a deep breath and stepped into the passage first. “We’re one step closer to our goal.”
Mu Xue followed closely behind. She patted Ning Yu on the shoulder, gave him a firm look, and said nothing more; everything was understood without words.
At intervals along the walls on both sides of the passage, there is a stone that emits a ghostly green light, illuminating the path ahead. But this light sends shivers down one's spine, as if it conceals some unknown danger.
"Be careful," Ning Yu whispered a warning. "The energy fluctuations emanating from these stones are strange; I sense a threat."
Upon hearing this, the team members became more alert and gripped their weapons tightly. They had already expended a great deal of physical strength and supernatural abilities in the maze, and everyone was exhausted, but the will to survive sustained them as they continued forward.
"Why do you think the Overlord would set up such a complex maze?" a team member asked in a low voice. "Is it just to prevent us from finding him?"
“Perhaps,” another team member chimed in, “It could also be a test of our strength.”
Ning Yu remained silent, his brows furrowed as he scanned his surroundings, his mind constantly analyzing various possibilities.
The passage seemed much longer than they had imagined; they had been walking for nearly half an hour and still hadn't reached the end. A faint, nauseating stench permeated the air.
"How much longer until we get there?" a team member couldn't help but ask, his voice tinged with fatigue and anxiety.
“We’re almost there,” Ning Yu said in a deep voice. “I can feel that we’re getting closer and closer to our goal.”
As soon as he finished speaking, a glimmer of light suddenly appeared ahead.
"Look, there's light!" one of the team members exclaimed in surprise.
The group perked up and quickened their pace, heading towards the light.
As they passed through the last stone gate, a breathtaking view suddenly opened up before them.
It was a huge room, its walls and floor made of an unknown metal that emitted a cold light. In the center of the room floated a huge spherical device, countless arcs of electricity flickering and leaping on its surface, releasing powerful energy fluctuations.
Below the spherical device stood a figure dressed in a black robe, his back to Ning Yu and the others, so his face was not visible.
"You've finally come..."
The figure slowly turned around, revealing his true face.
