"Who fell down?"
"Don't push, don't push me..."
The crowd stirred, and the encirclement of Ning Yu loosened slightly. A glint of light flashed in Ning Yu's eyes, and seizing the opportunity, he darted out like a nimble cheetah…
Ning Yu moved through the crowd like a gray lightning bolt. He ducked to avoid a sweeping iron bar, then slipped between two burly men. Although Captain Chen's men outnumbered him, they were hampered in the confined space and could only watch helplessly as Ning Yu moved as slippery as an eel.
"Don't let him get away! Catch him!" Captain Chen roared angrily, and rushed forward himself.
Ning Yu had already rushed to the edge of the puddle. He bent down, scooped up a handful of cool stream water, and greedily drank a few mouthfuls. Then, he quickly took out an empty mineral water bottle and filled it with water.
"Put down the water! That's mine!" Captain Chen had caught up, and several of his men surrounded Ning Yu.
"Don't even think about it!" Ning Yu shoved the water bottle into his coat and stared coldly at Captain Chen. He knew this battle was inevitable; if they wanted it, let them take it!
"Go! Take him down!" Captain Chen gave the order, and the men swarmed forward.
Ning Yu was prepared. He grabbed a rock from the ground and hurled it at the man closest to him. The man screamed and collapsed, clutching his nose.
In the chaos, Ning Yu nimbly dodged the attacks while searching for an opportunity to counterattack. He seized an opening and kicked a man in the stomach, sending him flying and knocking down a group of people behind him.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ning Yu broke through the encirclement and ran desperately towards the temporary shelter. Captain Chen's men gave chase, but Ning Yu was already far ahead.
Back at the shelter, Ning Yu let out a long sigh of relief and handed the water bottle he was carrying to Mu Xue. Mu Xue took the bottle without saying a word, only giving him a deep look. Ning Yu drank a few sips of water and began inspecting the defensive structures around the shelter. Suddenly, he stopped, his gaze falling on some strange footprints and markings in the corner of the wall. The footprints were small, like a woman's, and the markings…
“Widow Li…” Ning Yu murmured to himself, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.
