Deep within the spatial rift, light and darkness alternated like the breath of a colossal beast. Ning Yu staggered forward, each step feeling like walking on a knife's edge, yet his gaze remained resolute, as if the energy turbulence ahead was not a perilous current, but a smooth path to victory.
"Ning Yu, where are you taking us?" a team member asked, his voice trembling with exhaustion as he endured the excruciating pain.
“Let’s go somewhere… somewhere that can make us stronger.” Ning Yu didn’t turn around, his tone filled with unwavering determination.
The group stumbled and staggered with Ning Yu to the center of the spatial rift. There, a massive energy vortex spun like a nebula, radiating terrifying fluctuations. The surrounding energy streams converged here, forming visible energy tides that continuously pounded against the spatial barrier, producing deafening roars.
“This is it…” Ning Yu took a deep breath. He could feel his blood boiling, an instinctive desire for this powerful force.
"This place... could it be the center of this energy turbulence?" Mu Xue stared at the scene before her, her eyes filled with shock. "But the energy here is far too violent... we..."
"No, we must absorb it!" Ning Yu interrupted Mu Xue, his eyes flashing with determination. "Only by absorbing the energy here can we become stronger, defeat the Overlord, and..."
His voice trailed off, for at that moment, he felt a pain that penetrated to the very core. The raging energy seeped into his body relentlessly, assaulting his meridians as if to tear him apart.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue called out anxiously, but before she could stop him, she saw Ning Yu suddenly sit cross-legged, form hand seals, and begin to try to guide this violent energy...
Ning Yu sat cross-legged, eyes closed, brows furrowed, and large beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. He was trying his best to guide the raging energy through his body, and each cycle felt like being burned by fire.
“Ning Yu…” Mu Xue looked at Ning Yu’s pained expression, her heart filled with worry and heartache. She gritted her teeth, her eyes gradually hardening.
"Instead of just waiting here anxiously, let's take a gamble!" Mu Xue took a deep breath, and like Ning Yu, sat down cross-legged and began to try to absorb the surrounding energy.
A surge of violent energy rushed into Mu Xue's body, rampaging like a wild horse. Mu Xue's body trembled violently from the impact of the energy, her face turned pale, and her lips were bitten until they bled, but she never gave up.
"Mu Xue!" Ning Yu opened his eyes and was shocked to see Mu Xue in pain. He wanted to stop her, but his own energy was still circulating and he couldn't spare the attention to do anything else.
The other team members hesitated when they saw Mu Xue's expression. They knew that absorbing this energy came with enormous risks; a slight misstep could cause them to explode from the energy's intensity. But they also knew that this was their only chance to rebuild their power.
"Let's give it our all!" One of the team members gritted his teeth and, following Ning Yu and Mu Xue's example, sat cross-legged and began absorbing energy.
Once there was a first, there was a second. Soon, all the team members began absorbing energy.
In an instant, the entire center of the spatial rift was enveloped in multicolored light, accompanied by muffled groans of pain, as everyone endured unimaginable suffering.
Ning Yu spared a sliver of his attention to observe the other team members' condition. Seeing that they were all gritting their teeth and persevering, he felt somewhat relieved. He continued to guide the flow of energy within his body, and as time passed, he gradually felt that this violent energy seemed to have become somewhat docile.
Just then, Ning Yu suddenly felt something stirring deep within his mind. He concentrated and carefully sensed it, discovering that familiar warm current had reappeared, and was clearer than ever before.
"System?" Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat. Could it be that the system was recovering?
"Beep! High-purity energy detected. System is recovering..."
"System recovery progress: 1%...5%...10%..."
As the system's recovery progressed, Ning Yu felt his body undergoing changes. His strength, speed, and reaction time were all improving, and even his senses were becoming more acute.
"Ding! System recovery progress has reached 20%, new ability unlocked..."
Before Ning Yu could even check what his newly unlocked ability was, he heard a rapid alarm sound in his ear:
"Warning! Warning! Anomaly detected in spatial energy fluctuations. Please leave immediately..."
Before Ning Yu could react, an even stronger suction force came from the depths of the spatial rift, dragging everyone deeper into it...
"No!"
"No!" Ning Yu roared, trying to resist the suction force, but found himself powerless. The suction force was too strong, as if it would devour them completely.
"Mu Xue!" Ning Yu looked anxiously at Mu Xue, only to see that she was also trapped in the same predicament, her already pale face now even more bloodless. The other team members were in no better shape; everyone was being pulled by this powerful suction force, unable to control their own movements.
"Ding! System recovery progress has reached 30%, new ability unlocked: Space Jump (Beginner)..." The system notification sounded in Ning Yu's mind, but for the current situation, it was nothing more than a drop in the ocean.
The suction force deep within the spatial rift grew stronger and stronger, and Ning Yu felt as if his body was about to be torn apart. He gritted his teeth, his heart filled with anxiety. If this continued, they would all be sucked into the spatial turbulence and be left without a trace!
