Chapter 156 The Treasury Undergoes a Shocking Turn of Events, and Dire Circumstances Return

“Those symbols…” Ning Yu murmured to himself, a sudden flash of inspiration striking his mind, “Could it be…”

He strode to the wall, carefully examining the symbols and comparing them with the information he had in his mind about the ruins of ancient civilizations.

"Just as I thought!" A glint flashed in Ning Yu's eyes as he pointed to the symbols on the wall and said, "These symbols are the script of an ancient civilization, recording the structure and function of this warehouse! If I'm not mistaken, the control center should be in the northeast corner of the warehouse!"

"Really? That's great!" Upon hearing this, everyone's spirits lifted, and a glimmer of hope ignited within them.

However, before they could rejoice for long, Ning Yu's next words plunged them into an icy abyss.

“However, the road to the control center is riddled with traps and mechanisms. A slight mishap could trigger them, with unimaginable consequences.” Ning Yu’s expression was grave, his tone tinged with worry.

Following Ning Yu's direction, everyone saw that along the road leading to the northeast corner of the warehouse, there was a metal disc at regular intervals. The discs were engraved with intricate patterns and exuded an aura of danger.

Mu Xue looked at the traps with deep worry, while Ning Yu decided to take the risk. He took a deep breath and said to Mu Xue with a determined look in his eyes, "I must go to the control center and disable the defense system here, otherwise we will all die here!"

He strode off down the perilous road, his back resolute and determined. Watching his retreating figure, Mu Xue felt as if an invisible hand were gripping her heart, a sense of foreboding washing over her…

"I must go to the control center and disable the defense system here, otherwise we will all die here!" Ning Yu said firmly, without the slightest hesitation. He was well aware of the danger of this mission, but he understood even more clearly the responsibility he bore.

Silence fell upon the crowd, a tense and oppressive atmosphere filling the warehouse. Everyone understood that Ning Yu's journey was fraught with peril; one wrong step could mean certain death. But they also knew that if they couldn't disarm the defense system here, death would be their only fate.

Mu Xue clenched her fists tightly, her nails digging deep into her flesh, but she was completely unaware of it. She wanted to speak up and stop Ning Yu, but the words stuck in her throat. She knew that once Ning Yu made a decision, no one could change it.

"Be careful!" Mu Xue could only suppress her inner worry and utter these two words.

Ning Yu gave her a reassuring look, signaling her to relax, then turned around and resolutely embarked on that perilous road.

He took each step cautiously, his eyes constantly scanning his surroundings, trying to figure out the triggering pattern of the mechanism. The patterns engraved on those metal discs were complex and bizarre, as if mocking his overestimation of his abilities.

"Stay calm, you must stay calm!" Ning Yu kept telling himself. He knew that in this situation, any panic or impatience could lead to fatal danger.

He carefully observed the distance, position, and pattern changes between each metal disc, trying to find a pattern. Time passed second by second, and the atmosphere in the warehouse grew increasingly tense. Everyone's hearts were in their throats, afraid of hearing any unusual sounds.

"Phew..." Ning Yu let out a long sigh of relief. Finally, he had found a way to crack the first metal disc. He picked up a piece of gravel from the ground and gently placed it on a specific spot on the disc.

The disc sank slightly, making a soft "click" sound, but it did not trigger any mechanism.

"Success!" Ning Yu was overjoyed, but quickly calmed down. This was only the first step, and there was still a long way to go.

He continued forward, taking each step with extreme caution, and with each puzzle he solved, a fine layer of sweat would appear on his forehead.

However, just as he was about to crack the second metal disc, he suddenly felt a strange sensation under his feet...
