The alarm blared sharply and piercingly, echoing through the empty warehouse like the wailing of ghosts. Each blast struck Ning Yu and Mu Xue's hearts, bringing immense pressure. The protective barrier's light had dimmed considerably under the onslaught, and it seemed it was about to give way. Yet, the eerie alarm did not bring them joy; instead, it instilled a nameless fear in them.
"I'll go check it out, be careful!" Mu Xue shouted in a low voice, her figure flashing and disappearing into the shadows. Behind her, several agile team members followed closely, groping their way in the direction from which the alarm sounded.
Ning Yu watched them leave, took a deep breath, and refocused his attention on the barrier in front of him. He couldn't let his guard down; no one knew what the alarm meant, and if the barrier suddenly restored itself, all their previous efforts would be in vain.
"Increase the effort and break through as soon as possible!" Ning Yu shouted, brandishing his longsword. A sharp blade of energy shot out and slashed fiercely at the barrier. The others also mustered their remaining strength, their various supernatural abilities transforming into beams of light, flames, and ice blades, pouring wildly onto the barrier.
Time ticked by, and the alarm deep inside the warehouse continued to blare, growing ever more urgent, as if urging something on. Ning Yu felt increasingly uneasy; he had a strong premonition that something bad was about to happen.
Just then, a loud crash suddenly came from deep within the warehouse, followed by the ear-piercing sound of metal clashing. Ning Yu was startled and abruptly turned to look in the direction Mu Xue had left, only to see a dark figure fly out of the shadows and crash heavily to the ground.

"careful!"
Several team members rushed forward with cries of alarm, but were all pushed back by an invisible force, their faces pale, clearly suffering serious injuries.
Ning Yu's pupils suddenly contracted as he recognized the dark figure—it was Mu Xue!
"What happened?" Ning Yu rushed to Mu Xue's side, helped her up, and asked anxiously.
Mu Xue's face was pale, and a trace of blood remained at the corner of her mouth. She took a deep breath, shook her head, and said in a hoarse voice, "Something... interfered with the alarm system..."
"What is that?" Ning Yu's heart sank, and an ominous premonition welled up in his mind.
Mu Xue didn't answer. She simply raised her head, her gaze fixed intently on the depths of the warehouse, a place shrouded in darkness, as if some terrifying being lurked there. She slowly extended her hand, pointing into the darkness, and said, word by word, "There...is something there..."
"What is that?" Ning Yu pressed, his brow furrowed, gripping the long sword in his hand tightly. The darkness deep within the warehouse seemed like a lurking beast, exuding a chilling aura.
"The alarm system has been tampered with; the wiring has been altered, as if to..." Mu Xue's words trailed off as she stared incredulously at the intricate wiring before her, a tangled mess like a deliberately tangled ball of yarn, "as if to prevent us from finding the real source of the alarm!"
"Stop us?" Ning Yu muttered to himself, his doubts deepening. "Could there be other dangers besides this warehouse?"
Just then, a sudden change occurred. The protective barrier, which had been dimming, suddenly erupted with blinding light, and an energy wave struck Ning Yu without warning. Ning Yu was unable to dodge and was hit head-on by the energy wave. He was sent flying like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily to the ground.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue exclaimed and immediately rushed to Ning Yu's side.
Ning Yu struggled to stand up, but felt waves of weakness wash over him. The energy wave seemed to carry a strange suppressive force, causing his supernatural abilities to fall silent once more, even weaker than before. He gritted his teeth, trying to stay conscious, but the world before him gradually blurred.
"Don't speak, how are you?" Mu Xue asked anxiously, reaching out to feel Ning Yu's pulse.
Ning Yu shook his head, unable to speak, and could only watch helplessly as Mu Xue's face gradually blurred before his eyes, eventually plunging into darkness.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue's voice was filled with worry and fear, but she quickly realized that this was not the time for grief; she had to make a decision immediately. She looked up into the depths of the warehouse, a resolute glint in her eyes. "Someone, protect Ning Yu! We..."
Before she could finish speaking, a chilling growl suddenly came from the depths of the warehouse, like a ferocious beast from ancient times, carrying a terrifying pressure.
Mu Xue's expression changed drastically. "Oh no, they're here!"
The piercing alarm echoed through the empty warehouse, accompanied by heavy footsteps and rapid breathing, creating an atmosphere of extreme tension. Upon hearing Mu Xue's shouts, Ning Yu's team members immediately dropped what they were doing and rushed to the scene.
"Boss!" A team member's face turned ashen when he saw Ning Yu lying on the ground. He quickly helped Ning Yu up and asked anxiously, "Boss, are you alright?"
"I'm fine..." Ning Yu said weakly, enduring the excruciating pain in his body, "Quick, go help Mu Xue!"
At this moment, the attack on the protective barrier became increasingly fierce, with energy waves pouring down like a storm. The team members had to be on high alert and concentrate all their superpowers to resist.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!" Sparks flew everywhere in the warehouse, and explosions rang out one after another. The team members swayed precariously under the impact of the energy waves. Everyone was injured, but they still gritted their teeth and persevered, determined to protect Ning Yu's safety at all costs.
Looking at the chaotic scene before her, Mu Xue was filled with anxiety. The attack on the protective barrier had exceeded their expectations. If this continued, they would eventually exhaust all their supernatural abilities, and then there would truly be no way to turn the tide.
