Chapter 177 A Roar Shakes the Sky, Crisis Approaches Again

"Prepare..." Before Mu Xue could finish speaking, an even colder aura surged out from inside the door, carrying a heavy, nauseating smell of blood.

"Sister Xue, this place is too eerie!" A young man in the group couldn't help but complain, his hand holding the gun trembling slightly with nervousness.

Mu Xue didn't speak, but her eyes swept ahead more sharply. She said in a deep voice, "Stay close and watch your step!" After saying that, she took the lead and stepped into the huge metal door.

Inside the gate was a long, narrow corridor, its walls lined with a complex web of pipes and wires that emitted a faint green glow. The corridor was pitch black at its depths, save for the intermittent, chilling growls that seemed to mock their ignorance and fear in the darkness.

"Sister Xue, don't you feel like the sound is closer to us?" another team member said in a low voice, his tone filled with unease.

Mu Xue stopped and gestured for everyone to be quiet. She listened carefully to the sounds around her, trying to glean more information from the chilling roar.

"Watch out!" Suddenly, a cry of alarm came from the front of the group. A team member pointed to the ground and shouted in horror, "What is that?!"

The crowd looked in the direction of the sound and saw a row of huge footprints on the ground. Each footprint was more than a meter long and had a strange shape, as if it had been left by some kind of giant beast.

"These footprints..." one of the team members gasped. "What kind of monster could leave such huge footprints?!"

"Don't panic!" Mu Xueqiang suppressed her unease and said in a deep voice, "Keep moving forward, and stay alert!"

The group continued forward, but everyone's nerves were taut, and the atmosphere was extremely oppressive. With each step they took, they felt the oppressive force emanating from the depths of darkness grow stronger, as if an invisible eye was watching their every move.

"Sister Xue, look!" a team member exclaimed, pointing to the scratch marks on the wall ahead. "These scratch marks on the wall... look like they were torn apart by something!"

Mu Xue looked up and saw that the wall was indeed covered with scratches of varying depths, and in some places the metal structure inside was even exposed, which showed how terrifying the power of the creature that left these scratches was.

"What kind of monster is this..." someone in the group muttered to themselves, their voice filled with fear and despair.

They realized that what they were facing was not an ordinary mutated creature, but a terrifying being of unimaginable power.

Suddenly, a strange sound came from above, as if something was rapidly approaching.

"Oh no!" Mu Xue's heart tightened, she looked up abruptly, her expression changing drastically, "Get out of the way!"

Before the words were even finished, a huge black shadow suddenly swooped down from the hole in the ceiling, a foul stench filling the air, accompanied by a chilling roar. Everyone panicked, scrambling to the sides for cover. The shadow was incredibly fast; they only saw a blurry black mist flash by before a scream rang out.

"Third brother!"

One of the team members, a burly man, was grabbed by the shadowy figure and dragged into the air. He struggled desperately, his gun accidentally firing, several bullets hitting the wall and sparking. However, the shadowy figure seemed completely unfazed by the bullets, dragging the team member up the slope and disappearing into the hole in the blink of an eye, leaving only a few desperate cries echoing in the corridor.

"Damn it!" Mu Xue was furious at the sight. She instantly conjured an ice blade in her hand and hurled it in the direction the dark figure had disappeared. However, the ice blade only pierced through the air and couldn't reach the vanished dark figure at all.

"Sister Xue, what should we do?" The remaining team members gathered around, their faces filled with fear.

"Keep moving forward!" Mu Xue suppressed her anger and said coldly, "We can't just sit here and wait to die. We must find Ning Yu!"

The group dared not disobey and could only grit their teeth and continue forward. The light in the corridor grew dimmer, and they could only rely on their own faint supernatural abilities for illumination. However, this also made their location completely exposed, as if they were guiding an unknown enemy in the dark.

Suddenly, Mu Xue, who was walking at the front of the group, stopped. She felt a chilling aura approaching, stronger than any she had encountered before.

"Be careful, everyone!" Mu Xue whispered a reminder, while gripping the ice blade in her hand tightly and scanning her surroundings warily.

“It…it’s appeared again…” a team member said, pointing ahead, his voice trembling.

In the darkness, a pair of scarlet eyes slowly lit up, like flames from hell, illuminating a small area ahead...

Everyone held their breath, gripped their weapons tightly, and their hearts pounded in their chests. Crimson eyes gleamed in the darkness, like a chilling gaze from the abyss.

"roar--!"

A deafening roar erupted again, louder and more furious than before, as if it would shake the entire building to its core. A much larger, dark figure slowly emerged from the darkness. It possessed a cheetah-like physique, with strong, powerful limbs. Its sharp claws carved deep gashes into the ground, and its entire being exuded a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Retreat!" Mu Xue made a quick decision, and the ice blade in her hand flew out, aiming straight for the monster's eyes.

However, the monster reacted extremely quickly, dodging the ice blade with a sudden sidestep, letting out an angry roar, and pounced towards the group.

"Scatter and break through!" Mu Xue ordered again, and everyone immediately scattered and fled, trying to avoid the monster's attack.

However, the narrow corridor restricted their movement, and the monster was incredibly fast. The group was like turtles in a jar, and could only desperately dodge and look for an opportunity to fight back.
