“I have a way to make the giant python attack the stalactites, but someone needs to lure it to a specific location.” Mu Xue’s tone was calm, but everyone could hear the seriousness in her voice. “This plan is very dangerous, you could even say it’s a matter of life and death.”
The team members exchanged glances, each knowing what this meant. Silence spread through the crowd, and struggle and fear were etched on every face.
“I’ll go.” Li Qiang struggled to stand up straight. Although his face was pale, his eyes were firm. “I’m already like this. Even if I’m not killed by the giant python, I might not be able to survive. If my sacrifice can save everyone’s lives, then let me go.”
"Li Qiang!" The surrounding team members exclaimed, trying to stop him, but Ning Yu raised his hand to stop them.
Ning Yu looked intently at Li Qiang, this young man who was usually so carefree and jovial, now displaying astonishing courage. He knew he couldn't stop Li Qiang, and more importantly, he knew he was their only hope.
“Okay, I agree.” Ning Yu’s voice was deep but firm. “Xue’er, tell me your plan in detail.”
Mu Xue nodded, taking out a hand-drawn map from her waist. It clearly marked the surrounding terrain and the distribution of stalactites. "We need to lure the giant python to this location," she said, pointing to a narrow passage on the map, "then use the terrain to restrict its movement, and finally..."
Mu Xue didn't say anything more, but everyone understood what she meant.
"Captain, I'm ready." Li Qiang interrupted Mu Xue, taking a deep breath, his eyes filled with determination.
Ning Yu patted his shoulder and whispered, "Be careful."
Li Qiang nodded and turned to walk towards the giant python. He activated the remaining supernatural power within him, and a visible energy fluctuation emanated from his body.
"You beast! Come on!" Li Qiang roared at the giant python, his voice full of provocation.
The giant python, which had been lazily coiled deep within the cave, was now enraged by Li Qiang's provocation. It abruptly raised its head, its scarlet eyes fixed on Li Qiang, and its massive body slowly slithered towards him…
"Begin the operation!" Ning Yu gave the order, and everyone held their breath and moved towards the designated location according to the plan. Li Qiang became the most crucial piece in this life-or-death gamble.
Li Qiang ran with all his might, the heavy breathing of the giant python echoing behind him like the approaching footsteps of death. He dared not look back, relying only on his intuition and familiarity with the terrain, desperately running towards the predetermined location.
The python was moving faster than he had imagined, and its stench was already emanating from its back. Li Qiang could even feel the chilling scales rubbing against his clothes.
"hiss--"
The giant python let out a deafening roar, its massive body leaping out like lightning, its gaping maw snapping at Li Qiang's back.
Alarm bells rang in Li Qiang's mind. In the nick of time, he lunged forward, barely dodging the fatal blow.
"boom!"
The python's fangs slammed heavily against the ground, sending shards of stone flying and creating a deafening sound. Ignoring his pain, Li Qiang scrambled to his feet and continued his frantic run.
He knew he had no way out; behind him lay the abyss of death. Only by fighting desperately forward could he possibly buy his teammates a chance to survive.
At the top of the cave, Mu Xue and the others held their breath, watching nervously what was happening below. Li Qiang's figure appeared extremely small under the giant python's pursuit, like a small boat in a storm, possibly to be swallowed by the giant waves at any moment.
"Just a little longer, we'll be there soon!" Mu Xue prayed silently, her hands gripping her weapon already soaked with sweat.
As Li Qiang drew closer to the designated location, Mu Xue took a deep breath and signaled to her team members to get ready.
"Now!" Mu Xue gave the order decisively the moment Li Qiang was about to enter the narrow passage.
The next second, a dazzling white light flashed from the cave ceiling, accompanied by a deafening roar, and a huge stalactite broke off from the ceiling, crashing down towards the charging giant python below! "Boom!"
The deafening roar shook the entire cave. The massive stalactite, activated by Mu Xue's supernatural abilities, only swayed slightly a few times. A large amount of rubble rained down from the ceiling, striking the giant python's back. Startled by this sudden turn of events, it roared and abruptly stopped, its massive head raised high, trying to locate the source of the attack.
Li Qiang was thrown to the ground by the sudden tremor. He struggled to get up, but the giant python had already noticed the movement above it and began to writhe its massive body restlessly, trying to escape this dangerous place.
"We can't let it escape!" Li Qiang had only one thought in his mind as he watched the giant python about to flee. He used his last bit of strength to pounce on the python and grabbed its thick tail tightly with both hands.
"Li Qiang!" At the top of the cave, Mu Xue's heart clenched as she saw this scene, and she let out a cry of surprise.
Li Qiang's actions completely surprised her. She never imagined that he would do something so crazy at this critical moment. He was risking his life to buy her a chance!
Enraged by Li Qiang's desperate actions, the python lashed its tail wildly, trying to shake off the "tiny" creature. Li Qiang was nearly knocked unconscious by the python's immense strength, but he gritted his teeth and used all his remaining strength to prevent the python from escaping.
"Damn it!" Mu Xue was extremely anxious. She could feel her superpowers rapidly fading away, but the huge stalactite remained completely still.
Inside the cave, the roars of the giant python, the sound of falling rocks, and Li Qiang's painful groans mingled together, creating a breathtaking scene.
"I...I can't give up..." Mu Xue looked at Li Qiang's figure below, her eyes reddening, as if a voice in her heart was shouting.
She took a deep breath and slowly closed her eyes...
