Chapter 233 A Fatal Strike, A Reversal of Fate

The opportunity was only once, and Ning Yu dared not hesitate for a moment. He mustered all his strength and struggled violently towards the glowing spot on the giant python's body. With a "ripping" sound, his clothes, torn by the python's scales, could no longer withstand the immense force and instantly ripped apart. His strong muscles were covered with bloody marks left by the python, a shocking sight.

Ignoring his injuries, Ning Yu gathered all the remaining power in his body into his fingertips and then fiercely stabbed at the glowing spot.

"roar--!"

The giant python suddenly let out a shrill scream, its massive body trembling violently as if enduring immense pain. The power binding Ning Yu vanished, and the python slowly released its hold on him, its enormous head drooping limply to the ground.

Ning Yu fell to the ground, panting heavily, every part of his body aching. He struggled to his feet, watching the enormous creature crash to the ground, his heart filled with the relief of surviving a disaster.

"Ning Yu, how are you?" Mu Xue saw the giant python collapse and rushed to Ning Yu's side to help him up, asking with a worried expression.

Ning Yu shook his head, indicating that he was fine. He looked up into the distance; the sun had already dipped below the horizon, and the sky was gradually darkening.

"We need to get out of here quickly..." Ning Yu's words were cut short as his expression suddenly changed. He felt the ground begin to tremble slightly, and in the distance, a strange sound came, like some enormous creature moving...

"What was that sound?" Mu Xue also sensed something was wrong. She followed Ning Yu's gaze into the distance, her expression turning serious. The giant python crashed to the ground, its massive body lying across the wilderness like a small mountain. Its struggles grew weaker and weaker, its once gleaming scales gradually dimmed, and finally, it lost all life, a nauseating stench spreading out.

Ning Yu leaned weakly against a rock; the all-out attack he had just delivered had almost exhausted all his strength. He gasped for breath, feeling waves of pain emanating from his wounds, and his vision began to blur.

"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue's anxious voice rang in his ears. She quickly ran to Ning Yu's side, helped his weak body up, and let him lean on her shoulder. "How are you? Are you hurt anywhere?"

Ning Yu shook his head, wanting to speak, but found his throat terribly dry. He could only manage a weak smile to indicate that he was alright. He struggled to stand up, but felt as heavy as if filled with lead, unable to muster any strength.

"Don't move, you've exhausted yourself, take a rest first." Mu Xue pressed down on his shoulder, her tone filled with concern and worry.

Just then, a strange sound came from afar, like the sound of metal scraping against the ground, dull and regular, coming closer and closer, and sounding particularly clear in the open wilderness.

Ning Yu and Mu Xue's expressions changed simultaneously. They exchanged a glance, both seeing seriousness in each other's eyes. The sound clearly didn't come from the giant python; it sounded more like the noise of some kind of large machinery.

Mu Xue helped Ning Yu up, and the two of them stood up, supporting each other, looking warily in the direction from which the sound came. The sun had completely sunk below the horizon, night had fallen, and the surrounding light was getting dimmer and dimmer, so that only vague outlines could be seen in the distance.

"What is that?" Mu Xue asked in a low voice, her grip on the weapon tightening unconsciously.

Ning Yu remained silent. He tried to mobilize his internal power, but found almost no response. The battle had exhausted his supernatural abilities, leaving him as weak as an ordinary person, utterly powerless to cope with the impending crisis.

The sound of metal scraping grew closer, accompanied by a deep engine roar, and a massive black shadow appeared in their field of vision, slowly approaching them...

"We..." Ning Yu had only uttered one word when his voice abruptly stopped, because he saw a blinding light suddenly emanate from the top of the dark figure, enveloping their silhouette.
