"Wait!" Mu Xue grabbed Ning Yu's arm. "What are you trying to do? What if there's some kind of trap on this rock?"
Ning Yu's hand froze in mid-air; he understood Mu Xue's concerns. This place was eerily strange, and acting rashly would indeed be dangerous. He took a deep breath and slowly lowered the dagger.
“You’re right, we can’t be reckless,” Ning Yu said. “Let’s examine these stones carefully first and see if we can find any clues.”
They cautiously approached the faintly glowing stones. The stones were smooth and cool to the touch, engraved with strange symbols, like some kind of writing, which Ning Yu and Mu Xue didn't recognize. These symbols, winding and twisting like some mysterious totem, shimmered with an eerie light in the dim glow.
"What kind of writing is this?" Mu Xue examined the symbols on the stone carefully, her brows furrowed. "I've never seen writing like this before. Could it be the remnant of some ancient civilization?"
Ning Yu shook his head; he didn't recognize the symbols either. He tried touching them with his hands, and a strange energy flowed into his body through his fingertips, making him feel full of power, and his internal abilities seemed to become active.
“These stones… seem to contain some kind of energy,” Ning Yu said in surprise. “I feel my superpowers have increased.”
Mu Xue also tried touching the symbols on the stone, and she felt a surge of energy flowing into it as well. "Indeed, my abilities have also increased," she said. "Where exactly is this place? And what are these stones?"
The giant bear seemed to understand their conversation. It walked to the largest rock and drew some patterns on the ground with its huge paws, as if explaining something to them.
Ning Yu and Mu Xue carefully examined the patterns drawn by the giant bear, but these patterns were equally obscure and difficult to understand, leaving them completely baffled.
"What is it trying to tell us?" Mu Xue asked.
Ning Yu pondered for a moment and said, "I think it might be trying to explain the meaning of these stones and symbols, but we can't understand its meaning."
The giant bear seemed somewhat anxious. It paced back and forth, occasionally letting out low growls, and then drew new patterns on the ground, but Ning Yu and Mu Xue still couldn't understand it.
Ning Yu took out his dagger, pointed to the patterns on it, and then to the symbols on the stone, attempting to communicate with the giant bear. The giant bear seemed to understand him; it nodded, then pointed to the sky, its eyes filled with anticipation.
Ning Yu looked up at the sky, but there was nothing there except for thick clouds that blocked out the sunlight. He didn't understand what the giant bear was trying to express.
"The sky? What is it trying to tell us?" Ning Yu murmured to himself.
Mu Xue looked up at the sky, then at the giant bear, and suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something.
"Could it be..." Mu Xue was about to say something when suddenly, the surrounding air turned cold, and the faintly glowing stones flickered more rapidly. Mu Xue hugged her arms tightly, feeling a little scared. She looked at Ning Yu and found that Ning Yu was also looking at her with a serious expression.
“Something…” Ning Yu said in a low voice, his voice stiffened by the sudden chill. The surrounding air seemed to freeze; the previously cool air instantly became biting, and Mu Xue involuntarily shivered, goosebumps rising on her arms. She instinctively hugged her arms tightly, her teeth chattering uncontrollably. The stones, which had previously emitted a soft glow, now flickered faster and faster, pulsating unsettlingly like the rapid breathing of a patient.
"What...what's going on?" Mu Xue's voice trembled slightly as she clung tightly to Ning Yu, seeking a sense of security.
Ning Yu gripped the dagger in his hand, cautiously glancing around. He could feel an inexplicable sense of oppression, as if something was approaching. He tried to find a way out, retracing his steps, but found that the once clear path had vanished, replaced by an invisible wall blocking their way.
“We’re trapped,” Ning Yu said in a deep voice, his tone grave.
Upon hearing this, Mu Xue's face instantly turned pale. She looked around, and this once mysterious and strange space now filled her with danger and fear. She gripped Ning Yu's sleeve tightly, as if it were her only support.
"Don't be afraid." Ning Yu gently patted Mu Xue's hand, trying to comfort her and himself. "We will find a way out."
The giant bear seemed to sense the changes around it. It paced restlessly, occasionally letting out a low growl. Its massive body looked particularly frightening in the shimmering stone light. It moved back and forth, seemingly searching for a way out, but ultimately to no avail. Anxiously, it pawed at the ground with its huge paws, raising a cloud of dust.
"It seems to be in a hurry too," Mu Xue said, pointing at the giant bear.
Ning Yu nodded. He noticed the giant bear's gaze frequently drifting to the shimmering stones, its eyes filled with doubt and unease. He had a premonition that these stones were somehow connected to the reason they were trapped here.
“Let’s take a closer look at these stones,” Ning Yu said, pulling Mu Xue along as they cautiously approached the shimmering stones. The symbols on the stones appeared even more eerie under the rapidly flashing light, as if they had come alive and were moving across the surface of the stones.
Ning Yu reached out and touched a stone. A surge of intense energy instantly rushed into his body, making him feel dizzy. He quickly withdrew his hand, looking at the stone in front of him with surprise and uncertainty.
“These stones…” Ning Yu took a deep breath, trying to stay calm, “their energy has become stronger.”
