Chapter 258 Another Desperate Situation, Endless Adversity

Ning Yu supported Mu Xue, his expression grave. The giant's strength far exceeded their expectations; a single punch had caused such destructive power. If they had been hit head-on, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

"What should we do?" Mu Xue's voice was tinged with fear as she gripped Ning Yu's arm tightly, as if she had grasped a lifeline.

Ning Yu looked around, searching for a chance to escape. The giant's massive size almost completely occupied the passage, leaving them nowhere to run. The entrance to the passage was blocked, and behind them was a solid stone wall. They were like rats trapped in a cage, desperate and helpless.

"Try this!" Ning Yu's gaze fell on a fist-sized rock on the ground. He bent down, picked up the rock, and threw it forcefully at the giant.

The stone whistled through the air and slammed into the giant. However, to everyone's dismay, the stone shattered into dust the moment it touched the giant's body, as if it had struck an impenetrable wall, causing absolutely no harm to the giant.

“It’s no use!” Mu Xue’s voice was filled with despair. “Its body is too tough; we can’t hurt it at all.”

The giant's red eyes gleamed with an eerie light, seemingly mocking their helplessness. It slowly raised its fist and approached them once more.

Ning Yu's mind raced, trying to find a solution. However, in such a desperate situation, all the solutions he could think of seemed pale and powerless.

"Could it be... that we're really going to die here?" Mu Xue's voice trembled as she closed her eyes in despair, awaiting death.

Ning Yu remained silent, gripping Mu Xue's hand tightly, his gaze fixed firmly on the approaching giant. Even in this moment of despair, he refused to give up hope.

Suddenly, Ning Yu's gaze fell on the stone wall behind the giant. There were some small cracks in the stone wall, seemingly caused by the giant's earlier impact. A bold idea surfaced in his mind.

"Mu Xue, do you believe me?" Ning Yu's voice was deep and powerful.

Mu Xue opened her eyes, looked at Ning Yu's determined gaze, and nodded.

"Okay!" Ning Yu took a deep breath, grabbed Mu Xue's hand, and ran towards the stone wall behind the giant.

"What are you going to do?" Mu Xue asked in a panic.

"Let's take a gamble!" Ning Yu didn't explain. He pulled Mu Xue along and, just as the giant's huge fist was about to fall, he dodged into a crack in the stone wall.

"Boom!" The giant fist slammed into the ground again, producing a deafening sound. The stone wall trembled violently, and rubble fell down in a shower... "Hold on!" Ning Yu shouted.

The giant fist rose again, casting a shadow that enveloped Ning Yu and Mu Xue. The crack was narrow and cramped, with loose rocks constantly falling, leaving almost no room to dodge. They clung tightly to the stone wall, feeling the oppressive force of the giant, making it difficult to breathe.

"Is there really no way this time...?" Mu Xue's voice trembled, tinged with despair. She gripped Ning Yu's hand tightly, her knuckles turning white.

Ning Yu didn't answer. His gaze was fixed on the giant's movements, his mind racing, searching for a glimmer of hope. However, the giant's size was too enormous, and the space within the rift was too narrow; any attempt to escape seemed futile.

The giant's fist slammed down with a whooshing sound, sending debris flying and dust billowing. Ning Yu instinctively shielded Mu Xue with his body, using his own to block the impact of the falling rocks.

With a deafening roar, the stone wall trembled violently, as if it were about to collapse at any moment. Ning Yu felt a sharp pain in his back, and a mouthful of blood welled up in his throat, which he forcibly swallowed.

"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue exclaimed in surprise. She struggled to get up, but Ning Yu held her down tightly.

"Don't move!" Ning Yu's voice was low and hoarse. "It's safer this way."

The dust settled, and the giant's fist was wedged in the crack, less than a meter away from them. They could even clearly see the rough texture of the giant's fist, as well as the dirt and gravel stuck to it.

The giant's red eyes flashed with anger as it tried to pull its fist out, only to find it stuck and unable to move.

"It seems... we're safe for now." Ning Yu breathed a sigh of relief, but he knew it was only temporary. The giant's strength was immense, and sooner or later it would break free of its restraints, at which point they would still face certain death.

Mu Xue understood this as well. She didn't say anything, but simply hugged Ning Yu tightly, feeling the warmth emanating from him.

Time ticked by, and a tense and oppressive atmosphere filled the air. The giant's breathing was heavy and rapid, like that of a trapped wild beast.

Suddenly, Ning Yu felt the ground tremble slightly. He looked up and saw the giant stomping his fist forcefully against the ground, trying to pull it out with even more power.

"Not good!" Ning Yu's heart sank. He knew that the giant was about to break free.

The space within the crevice was cramped, leaving them nowhere to escape. Were they truly going to perish here this time?

Just as the giant's fist was about to strike, Ning Yu suddenly noticed a loose rock near the giant's feet. An idea struck him, and in the instant the giant raised its fist again, he rushed towards the giant's feet…
