"Quick! Keep looking!" Ning Yu shouted as he dodged the giant's attacks. He trusted his intuition; those symbols must be connected to the giant in some way.
Mu Xue understood the urgency of the situation. She gritted her teeth and recklessly traversed the ruins. The giant's attacks grew increasingly fierce, the ground trembled constantly, as if it would collapse at any moment. She felt her heart was about to leap out of her chest, and her lungs felt like they were about to burst, but she dared not stop. She knew that stopping meant death.
"Here it is!" Mu Xue suddenly exclaimed in surprise. In a corner, an inconspicuous pebble caught her attention. She quickly ran over, dug the pebble out of the dust, and upon closer inspection, she saw that it indeed bore the same symbols as those on the stone gate. Although somewhat blurred, they were still recognizable.
"Great!" Ning Yu also saw the piece of rubble, a glimmer of hope flashing in his eyes. He grabbed the rubble and carefully examined the symbols on it, trying to find some clues. These symbols looked like some kind of ancient script, or some kind of totem, full of mystery.
The giant approached again, its massive feet slamming into the ground with a deafening roar. Ning Yu had no time to think; he gripped the rubble tightly in his hands, silently reciting the shapes of the symbols. A strange feeling welled up within him. He felt a power flowing from the rubble into his body, filling him with strength.
He suddenly raised his head, looked at the giant, and his eyes gleamed with determination. He no longer dodged, but charged towards the giant.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue exclaimed, trying to stop him, but it was too late.
Ning Yu's speed was astonishing; he rushed towards the giant like a bolt of lightning. The giant seemed to sense his change as well, stopping in its tracks. Its enormous eyes stared at the rubble in Ning Yu's hand, a hint of fear flashing in them.
Ning Yu raised the rubble high above his head, and a powerful energy wave emanated from it, forming a dazzling light. The giant let out a low roar; it seemed to want to retreat, but its body was as if nailed to the spot, unable to move.
Ning Yu aimed the rubble at the giant, chanting incantations that grew louder and clearer. The ancient symbols seemed to come alive, shimmering with an eerie light in the air.
"Stop!" Mu Xue's voice suddenly rang out, tinged with disbelief, "It...it seems to be afraid..."
Ning Yu ignored Mu Xue and continued chanting the symbols. The rubble in his hands emitted an even brighter light, illuminating the entire ruins. The giant's body began to tremble, its eyes filled with terror. It seemed to realize what was about to happen…
"What...what exactly did you do?" Mu Xue's voice trembled, tinged with a hint of awe.
Ning Yu did not answer; his gaze was fixed on the giant, the rubble in his hand radiating brilliant light… He took a step forward, and the light from the rubble enveloped the giant…
A dazzling light enveloped the giant, and the intense energy fluctuations distorted the surrounding air. The giant let out a shrill roar, its massive body trembling violently as if enduring immense pain. The light from the shattered stone in Ning Yu's hand intensified, and the ancient symbols seemed to come alive, swirling and dancing in the air before finally merging into the giant's body.
The giant's roar gradually subsided, replaced by a low groan. Its massive body began to shrink, and the once-hard rock surface softened, like melting wax. Ning Yu still held the rubble aloft, his gaze resolute, showing no sign of letting his guard down. He knew this was not the end.
The giant's body shrank continuously until it became an ordinary stone, falling to the ground. The dazzling light disappeared, and the ruins were plunged into darkness once more. Ning Yu finally breathed a sigh of relief; the rubble in his hand had also lost its luster, becoming dull and lifeless.
"Is it over?" Mu Xue's voice trembled slightly. She walked to Ning Yu's side, looked at the stones on the ground, and her eyes were filled with disbelief.
Ning Yu nodded and handed the pebbles in his hand to Mu Xue. "It seems that this stone is the key to controlling the giant."
Mu Xue took the stone and examined it carefully. The stone was icy cold to the touch, and the symbols carved on its surface had become blurred and indistinct, as if they might disappear at any moment. "What kind of writing is this? Why does it possess such powerful energy?"
Ning Yu shook his head. "I don't know either. Perhaps it's related to the secret behind the stone gate."
The two remained silent for a moment. The ruins were utterly still, save for the sound of the wind. Ning Yu looked around; the ruins were a scene of utter devastation, the giant's destructive power was terrifying. He took a deep breath and turned his gaze to the stone door.
“Let’s go,” Ning Yu said, “to see what’s hidden behind the stone gate.”
Mu Xue nodded and followed Ning Yu towards the stone gate. The stone gate remained tightly closed, and the symbols carved on it appeared even more mysterious in the dim light. Ning Yu took out the stone he had found earlier and tried to place it into the groove on the stone gate again.
The stone fit perfectly into the groove, but the stone door remained closed. Ning Yu frowned, filled with doubt. He tried several more times, but the result was still the same.
"Strange," Ning Yu muttered to himself, "Why can't I open it?"
Mu Xue also came over, carefully examining the stone door and rocks, trying to find some clues. "Could there be some other mechanism?"
Ning Yu pondered for a moment, then suddenly thought of something. He took out the pebbles in his hand and compared them with the previous stone. The two stones were almost identical in size and shape; the only difference was that the symbols on the pebbles had become blurred, while the symbols on the other stone were clearly visible.
"Could it be..." A glint of light flashed in Ning Yu's eyes, "...because of the symbols?"
He pressed the pebbles tightly against another stone, trying to align the blurred symbols with the clear ones. Just as the two stones were perfectly aligned, a powerful surge of energy emanated from them, and the stone door creaked open slowly…
A chilling wind blew out from within the stone door, carrying a putrid stench. Ning Yu and Mu Xue exchanged a glance, their eyes filled with wariness. They gripped their weapons tightly and slowly stepped through the stone door… In the darkness, something seemed to be stirring… “Wait…” Ning Yu suddenly stopped, his gaze fixed on an inconspicuous symbol on the inner wall of the stone door…
