Chapter 263 First Exploration of a New Territory, Danger Lurks

The stone struck the insect's head with a dull thud, but did not cause it any real harm.

"These guys have really hard shells!" Mu Xue shouted. "We need to find a way to attack their weak points!"

While dodging the attacks, Ning Yu observed the giant insects' movements. He noticed that the insects' abdomens were relatively soft, which might be their weakness.

Just then, more buzzing sounds came from afar. Ning Yu's face darkened. "Looks like we're in trouble..." He grabbed Mu Xue's hand. "Run!"

The wind howled, swirling up withered leaves and broken branches, creating a rustling sound that added to the eerie atmosphere.

Ning Yu and Mu Xue stood back to back, warily surveying their surroundings.

The buzzing of the giant insects gradually faded away, but a more oppressive silence took its place, as if something was lurking in the darkness, waiting for its chance to strike.

"What kind of place is this..." Mu Xue complained in a low voice, her hand gripping the stone tightly, her palms sweating.

Ning Yu remained silent, his eyes fixed on the distance, his senses fully activated, trying to detect any unusual activity.

A peculiar smell permeated the air, like rotting plants mixed with the odor of some kind of metal, which made him feel vaguely uneasy.

Suddenly, the ground began to shake slightly, and the tremors grew stronger and stronger, as if some enormous creature was approaching.

Ning Yu's expression changed, and he grabbed Mu Xue's arm. "Let's go!"

They ran wildly along the edge of the pit, the tremors behind them growing closer and closer, as if a giant beast was chasing them.

Trees rushed past them, and bush branches lashed at them, leaving streaks of blood.

"There's no road ahead!" Mu Xue pointed ahead, where there was a steep cliff with no bottom in sight.

Ning Yu's heart sank; they had been forced into a desperate situation.

Looking back, a huge black shadow slowly emerged from the woods, blotting out the sky and exuding a suffocating sense of oppression.

"Jump!" Ning Yu made a decisive move, pulling Mu Xue along as they leaped off the cliff.

During their descent, Ning Yu held Mu Xue tightly, shielding her with his body. The wind howled in their ears, and the darkness below seemed like a gigantic maw, ready to devour them.

"Hold on tight!" Ning Yu shouted. He saw some protruding rocks on the cliff face, which might be able to help slow down the fall.

He reached out and grabbed a rock, his arm muscles tensing as he tried to steady himself. The sharp edge of the rock cut his palm, and blood flowed down the rock face.

"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue exclaimed in shock. She saw Ning Yu's palm stained with blood and her heart was filled with worry and fear.

Just then, a buzzing sound came from above, getting closer and louder...

“There’s…something up there…” Mu Xue said, her voice trembling, her eyes filled with fear.
