Chapter 27 Trapped in Desperate Circumstances, an Unyielding Spirit

The excruciating pain was relentless, constantly gnawing at Ning Yu's nerves, but he gritted his teeth and focused all his attention on his right hand. He continuously mobilized the faint energy within his body, attempting his first supernatural ability technique—"Gathering"—again and again.

"Gathering" is the foundation of all supernatural abilities, requiring the concentration of dispersed energy within the body into a single point to generate powerful explosive force. However, under the influence of the interference fluctuations, the energy within Ning Yu's body was like a flock of startled birds, scattering wildly and completely out of control.

He tried again and again, failing time and again. Sweat soaked his clothes, and the excruciating pain nearly made him faint, but he never gave up. He was like a traveler lost in the desert, desperately grasping at the last straw, refusing to let go even when hope was slim.

"Again!" Ning Yu roared, veins bulging on his forehead, large beads of sweat sliding down his cheeks. He channeled the last bit of energy within him, focusing it towards his right hand. However, just as he was about to succeed, an even more powerful disruptive wave suddenly struck, instantly shattering all his efforts!

"Pfft!" A mouthful of blood spurted from Ning Yu's mouth, and his body slumped to the ground, powerless. His supernatural abilities seemed to have been drained away, disappearing without a trace.

Outside the challenge space, Dr. Zhao frowned, watching the red alert flashing on the monitoring screen. He knew the situation was dire. Ning Yu's vital signs were rapidly declining, and the value representing the strength of her special ability had plummeted to almost zero.

"How could this happen..." Dr. Zhao murmured to himself, his eyes filled with worry. He knew what Ning Yu was going through; he had experienced this kind of pain before, a feeling as if one's soul had been taken away, a feeling of despair and helplessness.

Inside the challenge space, Ning Yu's consciousness began to blur. He felt as if he had fallen into a bottomless abyss, surrounded by complete darkness, without a single ray of light. Was... this how it was going to end?

Just then, he felt a warm power slowly flowing into his body, and a familiar voice rang in his ear: "Don't give up, I'll help you..."

The voice was like a ray of hope, illuminating Ning Yu's dark heart. He struggled to open his heavy eyelids, trying to see who was speaking. However, all he could see was a blurry light and shadow; he couldn't make out anything.

"Who...is speaking..." Ning Yu used all his strength to squeeze out a few words through gritted teeth.

"It's me..." the voice rang out again, this time clearer and gentler, "Concentrate, feel my power..."

Ning Yu felt the warm power growing stronger and stronger, flowing slowly through his body, repairing his damaged meridians and soothing the fear in his heart. He tried hard to grasp this power, but it was as elusive as flowing water.

"I...I can't hold on much longer..." Ning Yu's voice grew weaker and weaker, and her consciousness began to fade...

Outside the challenge space, Brother Wu paced anxiously back and forth, glancing repeatedly at the tightly closed door with worry in his eyes. He could sense the energy fluctuations emanating from within growing weaker and weaker; he knew Ning Yu's situation was extremely dangerous.

"Brother Ning, you must hold on!" Brother Wu clenched his fist and whispered towards the door, "We're all waiting for you outside..."

His voice pierced through the thick metal door and reached Ning Yu's ears. At that moment, Ning Yu felt as if he had grasped at a last straw; he tried desperately to respond, but no sound came out…

"Brother Ning! Brother Ning! Can you hear me?! Hold on! We're all waiting for you outside!" Brother Wu's shouts grew louder and louder, almost shaking the heavy metal door open. He paced anxiously back and forth outside the door, wishing he could rush in and pull Ning Yu out of that damned challenge space.

Ning Yu could hear it, of course. Brother Wu's voice was like a thunderclap, exploding in his ears and pulling him back from the brink of consciousness. He wanted to respond, to tell Brother Wu that he was still holding on, but he couldn't utter a sound. At this moment, he was completely focused on fighting against the violent energy within his body, every nerve stretched to its limit.

The warm power continued to flow into his body, but it was like a drop of water falling into a boiling oil pan, instantly exploding. Ning Yu felt as if his body was being torn apart, and the intense pain made him let out a muffled groan.

"Hold on...you must hold on..." Ning Yu told himself again and again. His consciousness gradually blurred, and the world in front of him began to become indistinct, as if he would fall into endless darkness at any moment.

"Give up...give up the resistance..." a chilling voice whispered in his ear, trying to drag him into the abyss, "You have failed...your powers have vanished..."

"No! I did not fail!" Ning Yu roared in his heart. He tried desperately to open his eyes and see everything around him, but his eyelids felt as heavy as if they were filled with lead.

"Give up...you have no hope anymore..." That cold voice rang out again, tinged with mockery and smugness.

“I said… I won’t give up…” Ning Yu gritted his teeth and squeezed out a few words, each word seeming to have used up all his strength. His body was trembling violently, and cold sweat soaked his clothes, but he still did not give up the fight.

He felt his consciousness fading away bit by bit, his body sinking into an endless abyss of darkness, but a voice inside him kept shouting: Don't give up! You absolutely can't give up!
