Chapter 279 The Final Test, Fate Uncertain

This crack was like a ray of dawn in the darkness, giving them hope.

"Mu Xue, look!" Ning Yu's voice was full of surprise and excitement.

Mu Xue struggled to lift her head, and when she saw the crack, a glint of light flashed in her eyes.

“We…we still have a chance…” she said with her last bit of strength.

This crack was like the last straw that broke the camel's back, causing the barrier's resistance to suddenly drop.

Ning Yu and Mu Xue seized this fleeting opportunity and unleashed all their remaining power.

The cracks grew larger and larger, spreading like a spider web, and the barrier seemed on the verge of collapse.

But at that moment, Ning Yu felt his power completely exhausted, and his vision blurred.

He felt a powerful suction pulling him toward the crack, and Mu Xue's hand in his grasp gradually slipped away...

"No..." Ning Yu shouted with his last bit of strength, reaching out to grab something, but only grasping at nothingness... He felt a dizzying sensation, and then lost consciousness.

"Ning Yu!" A weak voice echoed in the darkness, "Where are you..."

The cracks spread rapidly like a spider web, and the shimmering runes on the barrier's surface began to malfunction, emitting crackling and popping sounds.

The dawn of victory seemed to be just around the corner, but Ning Yu and Mu Xue's strength was also on the verge of exhaustion.

Ning Yu felt as if his consciousness had fallen into the deep sea, and the world before him was blurred, with only the ever-expanding crack still faintly visible.

He gritted his teeth, squeezing out the last bit of his supernatural power and pouring it into the ball of light in his hand.

"Ning Yu... I... can't see anymore..." Mu Xue's voice was so weak it was like a murmur, and the icy blue light on her body had dimmed to the extreme. Her swaying body seemed like it would collapse at any moment.

Ning Yu's heart tightened; he knew they had reached their limit. Forcing out his last shred of clarity, he pulled Mu Xue into his arms, supporting her with his own body.

"Hold on, Mu Xue, you're almost there..." Ning Yu's voice trembled, but he still refused to give up.

The runes on the barrier flickered faster and faster, and the cracks grew larger and larger. Finally, with a deafening roar, the barrier shattered and dissipated into starlight in the air.

A powerful suction force pulled Ning Yu and Mu Xue into it, and everything went black before their eyes, and they lost consciousness.

After an unknown amount of time, Ning Yu slowly opened his eyes.

He found himself lying in an unfamiliar space, surrounded by silence, with only a faint blue light enveloping everything.

He struggled to sit up and found Mu Xue lying beside him, her face pale and her breath weak.

"Mu Xue!" Ning Yu quickly helped Mu Xue up, anxiously calling her name.

Mu Xue slowly opened her eyes, looking around in confusion. "Did we... succeed?"

Ning Yu looked around. The space was vast and mysterious, with intricate patterns carved on the ground, emitting faint energy fluctuations.

In the distance, a huge blue sphere floated in the air, emitting a soft light and beating rhythmically like a heart.

"Where is this place?" Mu Xue asked weakly.

Just then, a deep voice echoed in the space: "Welcome to the core of the Wind Source..."
