"This is……"
Ning Yu struggled to get up from the ground. His vision was blurry, and only the whistling wind in his ears and the distant roars of wild beasts reminded him that he was still alive.
"Where... am I?" Ning Yu shook his head, trying to clear his mind.
A strong stench of blood mingled with the fragrance of earth assaulted his senses, and the scene before him gradually came into focus. He found himself in a vast valley, surrounded by towering cliffs that seemed to reach into the clouds, with only a sliver of sunlight filtering through, making the place appear particularly eerie and terrifying.
"It seems I've fallen into a spatial rift and been teleported to another place," Ning Yu thought to himself as he looked around.
He tried to mobilize the energy within his body, but found that his superpowers were being consumed at a tremendous rate, and his body was beginning to feel extremely exhausted. The prolonged battle and the teleportation through the spatial rift had pushed him to his limit.
"Damn it, what kind of place is this?" Ning Yu cursed under his breath, forcing himself to continue walking forward despite his exhaustion.
He knew that now was not the time to rest; he had to find a way out as soon as possible, otherwise, once it got dark, an even more dangerous situation would await him.
The valley is filled with jagged rocks and sparse vegetation, and there are traces of human activity everywhere, indicating that people once lived here.
Ning Yu carefully observed his surroundings, not daring to be careless in the slightest. He knew that in this dangerous place, any negligence could cost him his life.
"Um?"
Suddenly, Ning Yu stopped in his tracks, his gaze falling on a clearing not far ahead.
On the open ground, crimson flames erupted from the ground, forming a towering wall of fire that divided the valley in two. The intense heat of the flames scorched the surrounding air, producing crackling and popping sounds that inspired awe.
"Damn it, what the hell is this?" Ning Yu's face darkened, and he cursed inwardly.
He tried to use his powers to control the surrounding temperature and lower the temperature of the wall of flames, but found it was completely futile. The temperature of the wall of flames was terrifyingly high, and his powers had no effect on it whatsoever.
"Am I going to be trapped here and die?" A sense of despair welled up in Ning Yu's heart.
He looked up at the last sliver of light in the sky, his heart filled with bitterness.
Just as he was feeling desperate, his gaze suddenly fell on the base of the wall of flames, where there seemed to be a faint gap...
Ning Yu's heart leaped with joy, as if he had grasped a lifeline, "I'll risk it all!"
A glimmer of hope appeared, and Ning Yu's fighting spirit rekindled. He took a deep breath, mobilizing all the remaining energy in his body to protect himself. He knew this was his only chance to escape, and he had to give it his all.
"boom!"
Ning Yu transformed into a blur, rushing towards the weakest point of the wall of flames at astonishing speed. The scorching heat seared his skin, as if it would melt him. But he had no time to care about that; gritting his teeth, he charged into the flames without hesitation.
"Sizzle sizzle..."
Flames licked at his protective energy shield, emitting a piercing sound. Ning Yu could feel the energy shield rapidly depleting, but he had to hold on, even if only for a second.
"Break!"
The moment Ning Yu reached the wall of flames, he unleashed his last bit of energy and slammed it into that weak point.
With a loud bang, the wall of flames was smashed open, creating a gap the size of a person. Ning Yu seized the opportunity to rush out, crashing heavily to the ground and panting heavily.
He struggled to his feet, glanced back at the towering wall of flames, and felt a surge of relief at surviving the ordeal.
"Phew... I'm finally out..."
Ning Yu wiped the sweat from his forehead. Before he could catch his breath, a strong sense of crisis suddenly surged into his heart. He looked up sharply and saw a tall figure standing not far in front of him, staring at him with icy eyes.
"Who are you?" Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat, and he asked in a deep voice.
A cold smile curled at the corner of the man's lips as he slowly spoke, "You don't need to know..."
