The laughter, like a persistent, insidious infection, echoed in Ning Yu's ears. He warily scanned his surroundings; the shadows of the ruins twisted in the wind, as if countless eyes were lurking there, coldly watching him. However, apart from the howling wind and his own increasingly rapid breathing, he could find nothing.
The suction force continued to intensify, and Ning Yu could feel his supernatural power surging uncontrollably within him, as if it were about to be completely devoured by the crystal. He gritted his teeth and rapidly formed hand seals, trying to envelop himself with his supernatural power and resist the powerful attraction.
"Ning Yu, be careful!" Dr. Zhao's voice came from afar, filled with worry.
However, it was too late.
Ning Yu's body jolted violently, a sharp pain exploding within him. He groaned, his face instantly turning ashen. The loss of control over his superpower made him feel as if his body was being torn apart, every bone groaning in agony.
"No... I'll be drained dry if this continues..." Ning Yu gritted his teeth, large beads of sweat rolling down his forehead. He had to find a way to break free from this power's control, or the consequences would be unimaginable!
He endured the excruciating pain, trying to control his raging superpower, but the suction force was like a bottomless pit, swallowing up all his efforts. He felt his consciousness begin to blur, and everything before his eyes became distorted.
Just then, he felt the surrounding air suddenly become unusually hot, and a dangerous aura quietly descended.
Ning Yu struggled to lift his head, only to see dozens of strange runes that had appeared in the once empty ruins. These runes flickered with a ghostly red light and emitted chilling energy fluctuations.
Before he could react, the runes shot towards him like arrows released from a bow, carrying a sharp killing intent!
"Oops……"
"Damn it..." Alarm bells rang in Ning Yu's mind. This sudden attack left him with no way to avoid it. He gritted his teeth, endured the excruciating pain in his body, and rolled to the side with all his might.
A rune grazed his scalp, its scorching heat instantly singing the stray hairs on his forehead, filling the air with a burnt smell. Ning Yu was still in shock, and before he could even catch his breath, more runes came hurtling towards him, blocking all his escape routes.
Despite the looming shadow of death, Ning Yu remained calm. His eyes flashed as he quickly scanned his surroundings, searching for a glimmer of hope.
"Left! Quick!" Dr. Zhao's voice came from afar, tinged with anxiety.
Without the slightest hesitation, Ning Yu lunged to the left, barely dodging several attacks from the runes. However, just as he was about to land, he felt an invisible force bounce him back.
"Damn it! It's an energy shield!" Ning Yu cursed under his breath. How could he have forgotten about that?
Just then, several runes attacked again. Ning Yu had nowhere to dodge and could only watch helplessly as they shot towards him.
"It's over..." A desperate thought flashed through my mind.
However, the expected excruciating pain did not come. Ning Yu only felt his body lighten, as if he had bumped into a soft membrane. He looked down and found that he had actually bumped into the transparent energy shield.
"Huh?" Ning Yu's heart skipped a beat. He was surprised to find that the once indestructible shield showed a slight, visible fluctuation the instant the rune struck the energy shield.
"Could it be..." A bold idea popped into his mind.
He raised his head, his gaze fixed intently on the runes that were relentlessly attacking the energy shield, a maniacal smile creeping onto his lips.
"In that case, let me test your power!"
He took a deep breath, stopped dodging, and instead charged towards the runes.
"Ning Yu! What are you doing?!" Dr. Zhao exclaimed in shock, not understanding why Ning Yu would seek death like this.
However, Ning Yu seemed not to hear his warning and charged straight into the rune storm.
"bring it on!"
Ning Yu charged headlong into the storm of runes, the dense runes raining down on him like a tempestuous storm. Each impact felt like being struck by a giant hammer, the excruciating pain nearly knocking him unconscious. But he gritted his teeth and persevered, knowing this was his only chance.
"Buzz—"
Ning Yu mobilized all his supernatural abilities, golden light flowing around him. He concentrated his power between his hands, forming a rapidly spinning energy sphere. The power of the runes continuously impacted the energy sphere, attempting to destroy it, but Ning Yu's supernatural abilities stubbornly resisted. The two forces collided, emitting a piercing roar.
"Now!" Ning Yu seized the opportunity and hurled the energy ball in his hand.
The energy ball hurtled towards the energy shield, and the instant it touched the shield, Ning Yu clearly felt a powerful suction force pulling him towards it. He was overjoyed; he knew he had made the right bet.
The power of the runes resonated with the energy shield, causing the once-unbreakable shield to tremble violently. Ning Yu seized this opportunity and charged towards the energy shield with all his might.
"Bang!"
With a deafening crash, Ning Yu felt as if he had smashed through a glass wall, his entire body caught in a vortex of energy. Intense pain, dizziness, tinnitus… a torrent of negative sensations surged through him, threatening to engulf him.
"Ning Yu!" Dr. Zhao's heart-wrenching cry came from afar.
But Ning Yu could no longer hear; his consciousness gradually blurred, and everything before his eyes became distorted. Yet, a single, unwavering belief still sustained him:
