Chapter 79 A Lucky Break in a Desperate Situation, A Glimmer of Hope

"Captain?!" Li Mo's surprised voice came through the communicator. "Captain, is that you? Where are you?"

"I'm fine, how are you guys?" Ning Yu asked in a low voice, while quickly running deeper into the passage.

"We're all fine, Captain, wait a minute, we're coming right away!" Li Mo's voice was full of excitement.

Ning Yu retraced his steps, following his memory, and found the metal plate at the bottom of the sandpit. He pushed upwards with force, and the metal plate slowly rose, revealing a dark hole.

"Captain!" Li Mo was the first to emerge, his face covered in dust, but his excitement was undeniable.

"Shh—keep your voice down." Ning Yu made a shushing gesture, led the team into the tunnel one by one, and finally closed the metal plate. The sandpit returned to calm, as if nothing had happened.

After walking along the passage for about several dozen meters, the view suddenly opened up before me. It was a huge underground space, with bright lights hanging overhead, illuminating the entire space.

"My God..." the team members exclaimed in surprise, stunned by the sight before them.

In this vast underground space, a large amount of supplies were neatly stacked. Boxes of compressed food, bottled water, medicine, weapons and ammunition... a dazzling array of items, everything imaginable.

"These guys..." Ning Yu took a deep breath, suppressing his excitement. He never expected that such a huge supply warehouse would be hidden beneath this desolate desert.

"Captain, we've struck it rich!" Li Mo rubbed his hands excitedly, and the other team members' eyes also lit up. For the past few days, they had been living hand to mouth, and now that they saw so many supplies, how could they not be overjoyed?

"Don't get too excited yet, we still don't know what's going on here." Ning Yu forced himself to calm down. He looked around and found that in addition to supplies, there were many rooms in this underground space, and the doors of the rooms were all closed.

"Li Mo, take some men to take inventory of the supplies. The rest of you, come with me!" Ning Yu called out, leading the way to one of the rooms.

The door to the room wasn't locked, and Ning Yu opened it with a gentle push. The room contained only a table and a few chairs, with a computer on the table.

Ning Yu stepped forward, pressed the power button, and the computer screen lit up. He quickly browsed the files on the computer, his expression gradually becoming serious.

"Oh no, we might have stumbled into a terrible place..." Ning Yu muttered to himself, his gaze falling on a line of text on the screen:

"Highest defense level: Red Alert..."

“Red alert…” Li Mo leaned closer, looking at the words on the screen, his expression turning grim. “Captain, what does this mean?”

“This means we’re in big trouble.” Ning Yu took a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down. “This base has an automatic defense system. We’ve triggered the alarm, and the enemy will soon know what’s going on here.”

"What should we do?" Li Mo asked anxiously, and the other team members also gathered around, their faces showing unease.

"It's too late to leave now." Ning Yu looked around, his gaze resolute. "We must hurry, prepare for battle, and fight them here!"

The team members all knew that there was no way out now, and they had no choice but to fight with their backs against the wall.

"Li Mo, immediately take your men and move all usable weapons and ammunition into the passageway, prepare to meet the enemy!" Ning Yu decisively issued the order.

"Yes!" Li Mo accepted the order without hesitation and left. The team members also quickly got to work, carrying boxes of weapons and ammunition into the passage to build defensive fortifications.

Ning Yu then used the computer to study the base's defense system. He knew that to survive this battle, he had to figure out the enemy's strengths and weaknesses.

The data on the computer was extremely complex, but Ning Yu still managed to find some useful information. This base was a secret stronghold of the "Sky Curtain" organization, responsible for storing supplies and conducting experiments.

The "Sky Curtain" organization is the enemy that Ning Yu and his team have been searching for.

"So you were hiding here..." A cold glint flashed in Ning Yu's eyes. He would never let this opportunity slip by.

Time passed by, and Ning Yu had basically mastered the base's defense system and formulated a combat plan.

"Captain, we're ready!" Li Mo ran over and said excitedly.

Ning Yu nodded; he knew the moment of the decisive battle was approaching.

"Everyone, follow me!" Ning Yu waved his hand and led his team deep into the passage. He knew that the enemy's forces were definitely greater than theirs, and a direct confrontation was not an option. They had to take advantage of the terrain and launch an ambush.

In the dimly lit passage, Ning Yu's deep voice echoed: "Remember, what we need to do is..."
