"drop!"
A crisp notification tone, like heavenly music, rang out in the silent control room. The bright red countdown on the screen came to an abrupt halt, freezing at "0:01," like a bomb about to explode whose fuse was cut at the last moment.
Ning Yu let out a long sigh, leaning weakly against the back of the chair, letting the sweat soak through his clothes. He closed his eyes, feeling the relief of surviving the ordeal and the exhaustion of having walked through the gates of hell.
"We did it! We did it!" Someone shouted first, and a deafening cheer erupted in the control room. The team members hugged each other, weeping with joy. The fear and despair they had suppressed for so long transformed into boundless ecstasy.
However, Ning Yu did not join their celebration. He slowly opened his eyes, a sharp glint in them. He knew this was only a temporary victory; the real challenge had just begun.
What exactly is the purpose of the "Sky Curtain" organization? Why did they go to such lengths to detonate this base? Ning Yu's mind was filled with questions. He realized that he was touching upon a huge conspiracy, a conspiracy that could overturn the entire world order.
He stood up, walked to the control panel, and began carefully examining the system logs, trying to find some clues. The team members gradually quieted down as well; they knew that Ning Yu needed absolute silence at this moment.
"Boss, have you found anything?" one of the team members couldn't help but ask.
Ning Yu did not answer. His brows were furrowed, his eyes were fixed on the code on the screen, and his fingers were typing rapidly on the keyboard, as if he were playing a piece of music that no one could understand.
Time ticked by, and Ning Yu's expression grew increasingly grave. He discovered that the code had undergone special encryption, making it no easy task to crack. Moreover, the base's defense system seemed to be experiencing some kind of interference, launching random attacks from time to time, greatly hindering his work.
"Damn it! What on earth is going on?" Ning Yu cursed under his breath, but his hands didn't stop moving. He knew he had to find the answer quickly, or the consequences would be unimaginable...
Suddenly, as if he had discovered something, he abruptly raised his head, his gaze fixed on a code snippet on the screen, muttering to himself, "This is it... Could it be..."
Ning Yu's fingertips danced across the keyboard, lines of code cascading down like a waterfall. He was completely absorbed in deciphering the code, his forehead covered in fine beads of sweat. The clues were like fragments scattered throughout a maze, obscure and difficult to find, requiring a great deal of effort to piece them together and decipher them.
"Boss, this code seems to have been deliberately scrambled, and the encryption method is very complex. I've tried several methods but I can't crack it." A team member looked at the dense characters on the screen with a furrowed brow.
Ning Yu said in a deep voice, "I know that the 'Sky Curtain' organization is always cautious in its actions and will not easily leave any loopholes. But the more they do so, the more it shows that there is a huge secret hidden behind this matter, and we must find out their purpose."
Just then, the lights in the control room suddenly flickered, and the piercing alarm sounded again.
"Oh no! The defense system has launched another attack!" a team member exclaimed.
"Damn it! These guys are trying to drag us down!" Another team member slammed his fist on the table in anger.
Ning Yu stood up decisively and ordered in a deep voice, "Everyone evacuate the control room immediately. I'll figure out a way to shut down the defense system!"
"Boss, this is too dangerous! You can't go alone!" the team members urged anxiously.
"Obey orders! It's my responsibility!" Ning Yu's tone was firm and left no room for doubt. He knew that only by shutting down the defense system could he ensure the safety of his team members and buy more time to unravel the "Sky Curtain" organization's conspiracy.
He resolutely turned and ran towards the depths of the control room. That was the core area of the entire base, and the central hub of the defense system.
The passage leading to the core area was a long, narrow metal corridor. The corridor was riddled with countless laser beams on both sides, and flashes of electricity occasionally crackled overhead. Ning Yu carefully avoided these deadly traps, each step incredibly difficult.
He was covered in wounds, his clothes stained with blood, but he seemed oblivious to the pain, gritting his teeth and persevering. He knew he couldn't fall, or everything would be over.
Finally, he arrived at the entrance to the core area. It was a massive, heavy steel gate, covered with complex electronic locks and mechanical devices, clearly the result of meticulous design.
Ning Yu took a deep breath, enduring the excruciating pain, and began to try to break through the steel defense in front of him.
Time ticked by, and his forehead was covered in large beads of sweat, his face turning deathly pale. Just as he was about to give up, suddenly, as if he had noticed something, his gaze fixed on an inconspicuous device on the door, a barely perceptible smile playing on his lips…
Ning Yu's gaze was fixed on the inconspicuous device on the door—a small indicator light that flashed so rapidly it was almost imperceptible. But he keenly noticed the regular changes within it, and a sudden flash of inspiration struck him.
"It's frequency resonance! Damn it, they actually used this principle!" Ning Yu cursed under his breath. This "Sky Curtain" organization was indeed cunning, hiding the key vulnerability of the defense system in such a hidden place.
He took a deep breath, activating all his supernatural abilities, and a dazzling light condensed at his fingertips. This light wasn't pure energy, but rather contained his precise control over frequencies. He abruptly pressed this light onto the indicator light, and the previously flickering light instantly became violent, causing the entire control room to tremble violently.
