"Attention everyone! Aim at those beam weapons. After they attack, immediately concentrate your fire on the weapon operators!" Ning Yu's voice was like the anchor of a ship sailing in a storm, bringing a glimmer of hope to the desperate guardians.
His orders spread like lightning throughout the base, and everyone who was still able to fight gritted their teeth, placing their last hope on this seemingly insane plan.
The enemy's attack showed no signs of abating; beam weapons spewed destructive energy, peeling away layers of the base. Ning Yu stared intently at the enemy's formation, his gaze sharp as a hawk's. He noticed that the soldiers operating the beam weapons were positioned relatively far apart to maximize their kill radius, and that they paused briefly after each shot to adjust the weapon's angle and energy output to ensure accuracy.
"Now!" Seeing the enemy's beam weapon go out again, Ning Yu made a decisive decision and roared.
The remaining firing positions within the base opened fire simultaneously, unleashing a deluge of bullets and shells like a storm, aimed directly at the exposed weapon operators.
"Ah!" A shrill scream came from the enemy camp; the sudden attack had caused them heavy losses.
The enemy leader was clearly caught off guard by Ning Yu's unexpected counterattack. He roared furiously, "Damn it! Destroy them at all costs!"
However, Ning Yu's order was merely a turning point in the battle, not a harbinger of victory. The enemy's numerical and firepower superiority remained overwhelming. Although they lost some weapon operators, new soldiers quickly filled their positions, and beam weapons once again unleashed the light of death.
"Damn it, their reaction speed is too fast!" Ning Yu slammed his fist on the wall, his eyes filled with anxiety and resentment. He knew that if things continued like this, they would eventually run out of ammunition and manpower from the enemy.
"We must find a way to break through their defenses and destroy those beam weapons!" Ning Yu's mind raced. Suddenly, his gaze fell on a grove of trees on the outskirts of the base. "Perhaps, we can..."
He beckoned to a nimble scout, whispered a few words in his ear, then handed him a sharp dagger, patted him on the shoulder, and said firmly, "I'm counting on you for everything."
The scout nodded, his eyes filled with resolve. He crouched low and vanished into the night like a ghost. Ning Yu watched his retreating figure, silently praying…
Under the cover of night, Ning Yu's gaze was like frozen ice. The shadows of the woods surrounding the base flickered in his eyes, as if foreshadowing something. He had gathered ten agile superhumans, the elite of his forces, each a veteran of countless battles, their eyes filled with a resolute determination to die for their cause.
"Our target is those beam weapons!" Ning Yu pointed to the giant weapons gleaming with an eerie light in the enemy's distant position, his voice low and powerful. "These weapons need a cooling-off period after each firing; this is our only chance!"
Everyone held their breath, listening intently to Ning Yu's plan. They understood that this was a mission with a slim chance of survival, but for the sake of the base's survival, they had no other choice.
Ning Yu divided the ten men into two groups, each infiltrating the enemy's position from different directions. They moved swiftly and stealthily, like ghosts in the night, approaching their target silently. However, the enemy was no ordinary foe; they were highly vigilant, with patrols covering almost the entire position.
"Damn it! We've been spotted!" one of the group members cursed under his breath. They were exposed to the bright light of the searchlights, and gunfire erupted. Several figures fell to the ground.
"Retreat! Retreat immediately!" Ning Yu made a decisive decision. He knew that this surprise attack had failed and that he had to preserve his strength, otherwise he would only sacrifice himself in vain.
The surviving team members retreated to base in disarray, their faces etched with frustration and exhaustion. The failure of this operation plunged their already low morale to rock bottom once again.
"Leader, we can't go on like this! The enemy's firepower is too strong, we have no chance at all!" a team member couldn't help but complain, his tone filled with despair.
"Yes, leader, we should think of other ways. If we keep fighting like this, we'll only be wiped out!" another team member chimed in.
Ning Yu watched them silently. He knew his teammates were right, but an indomitable will burned within him. He trusted his judgment; given the right opportunity, they would surely break through the enemy's defenses!
"I will find a way," Ning Yu's voice was tired, but it carried an undeniable firmness. "Believe me, we will definitely get through this!"
However, at that moment, a deafening explosion rang out outside the base; the enemy attack had begun...
Amidst the billowing smoke, Ning Yu observed through the observation window that the enemy's beam weapons, after continuous bombardment, were gradually losing their luster, and their formation was beginning to falter.
He stood up abruptly, a glint of light flashing in his eyes, "Now..."
The smell of gunpowder was pungent and unpleasant, but Ning Yu inhaled it greedily, as if it contained the scent of victory. He grabbed the tactical helmet hanging on the wall, strode towards the door, and his booming voice echoed throughout the base, "All assault team members, five minutes from now, charge with me!"
The base gates slowly opened, and a squad of soldiers in black combat uniforms filed out. They moved nimbly, were well-equipped, and each exuded a chilling aura. Leading them was Ning Yu, whose tall, imposing figure was accentuated by his black, close-fitting attire. His deep eyes gleamed with unwavering determination, like a sharp blade about to be drawn.
