Chapter 70: His might shook all directions, and his fame resounded far and wide.

"...From today onwards, we are no longer fish to be slaughtered!" Ning Yu's voice boomed like thunder, resounding in the ears of every team member. The afterglow of the setting sun shone on his face, reflecting a resolute and decisive expression.

News of Ning Yu's defeat of "Falcon" spread like wildfire throughout the wasteland. Those smaller factions that had once oppressed them and coveted them were all terrified upon hearing the news. They held a banquet to celebrate "Falcon's" demise, yet amidst the clinking of glasses, a sense of fear crept in.

"What?! 'Falcon' has been wiped out?! How is that possible?!"

"Is that Ning Yu really that powerful?"

Inside a secluded fortress in the wasteland, the leaders of several factions sat around a large round table. Dim lighting illuminated their faces, some grim, some fierce, and the air was thick with tension and unease.

"Gentlemen, Ning Yu's rise is unstoppable. We must join forces and eliminate him before he gains power!" The speaker was a burly man with a menacing venomous snake tattooed on his thick arm. He was the leader of the "Black Serpent," known for his ruthlessness.

“Yes, we can’t let him continue to grow stronger, or we’ll all be doomed!” another gaunt man chimed in. He was pale-faced and had a sinister look in his eyes. He was the leader of “Ghost” and was known for his cunning.

The destruction of "Falcon" made them feel an unprecedented crisis. They knew that if they could not stop Ning Yu in time, they might be the next ones to be eliminated.

However, just as various forces were secretly plotting to counter Ning Yu, a subtle change occurred within Ning Yu's team. The consecutive victories caused some members to lower their guard; they became complacent and their training was no longer as rigorous as before.

Ning Yu observed all of this, and worry gradually crept onto his brow. He knew that now was not the time to relax; the real danger had only just begun…

"Pass the word," Ning Yu's gaze was sharp, his tone leaving no room for argument, "Everyone assemble tonight. I have something important to announce!" Night fell, a cool breeze blew, and the torches in the base square crackled, illuminating the solemn expressions on each team member's face. Ning Yu stood on the high platform, his gaze sweeping over the crowd like a hawk's, his voice low yet carrying an undeniable authority, "'The destruction of Falcon' is only the beginning, not the end! We are still in a wasteland fraught with danger; one wrong step and we will be doomed! I hope everyone will remain vigilant at all times and not let the current victory go to their heads!"

The audience fell silent. The team members were all intimidated by Ning Yu's imposing presence, and the originally relaxed atmosphere became heavy.

From that day on, Ning Yu intensified the team's training. Every morning, as the first rays of sunlight touched the earth, the team members would gather for physical training. Weighted running, combat, shooting... every exercise was strictly conducted according to combat standards. In the evenings, Ning Yu would personally teach them wilderness survival skills, tactical coordination, and how to deal with various emergencies.

In addition to intensifying training, Ning Yu also raised the base's security level. He divided the team into several groups, who took turns patrolling around the base, closely monitoring all movements in the vicinity. On the high walls, the searchlights on the watchtowers scanned the distance day and night, ensuring that no movement escaped their notice.

However, just when Ning Yu thought everything was under his control, some unusual signs began to appear.

"Reporting to the leader, we found some suspicious footprints on the east side of the base. They look like they were left in the last few days," the patrol team member reported to Ning Yu.

Ning Yu frowned slightly and pressed on, "Can you confirm who left it?"

“Judging from the size and depth of the footprints, it should be one person, and they are agile and move quickly. We suspect…” The team member paused, his tone becoming somewhat serious, “We suspect it is the person from ‘Ghost’.”

The "Ghosts" are known for their skill in stealth and assassination. If they are indeed appearing near the base, it means...

Ning Yu took a deep breath, a glint of light flashing in his eyes. "Continue to strengthen vigilance, and report any discoveries immediately! Also, notify..." He paused, then lowered his voice, "...notify Ying to come see me."

Shadow is Ning Yu's most trusted partner and one of the strongest warriors in his team. He is skilled in stealth and tracking, making him the perfect choice for carrying out secret missions.

As night deepened, a dark figure silently slipped into Ning Yu's room. "Leader, you were looking for me?"

Ning Yu spread a map on the table, pointed to one of the marks, and said, "Go here and find out who has been active in the area recently. Remember, be very careful!"

"Yes!" Ying took the map without hesitation and turned to disappear into the darkness.

However, Ning Yu was unaware that his worst fears had come true... Three days later, at dawn, the base gate was pushed open in a panic, and a figure stumbled in, covered in blood...

"Chief! Something terrible has happened!"

The newcomer, covered in blood, staggered and collapsed at Ning Yu's feet, staining the ground in front of the base red.

"Shadow!" Ning Yu exclaimed in surprise, rushing forward to help his trusted confidant to his feet. Shadow was his right-hand man, agile and meticulous; how could he be injured like this?

“Cough cough…They…have an ambush…” Ying said intermittently, struggling to raise his trembling hand and point eastward.

"Who is it?" Ning Yu's heart tightened, and a surge of anger rushed to his head.

“I…I don’t know…” Ying shook her head in pain, then everything went black and she fainted.
