A stench assaulted his nostrils. Ning Yu watched as the giant python regained its footing and charged towards him with overwhelming force, a flicker of despair in his eyes. His body was utterly exhausted; every muscle was groaning, and he was practically powerless to offer any further resistance.
But at that moment, he felt the newfound power within him growing increasingly active, like churning magma, trying to break free of its restraints and surge forth. This power was far stronger than before, even giving him the illusion that he could control everything.
Before he could think, the giant python was already inches away. It opened its blood-red maw, revealing sharp fangs, and bit down hard on Ning Yu. A foul stench assaulted his nostrils. Ning Yu tried to dodge, but he was powerless and could only watch helplessly as the enormous mouth devoured him.
"boom!"
In the nick of time, Ning Yu instinctively raised his arm to defend himself. The giant python's teeth bit down hard on his arm, and instantly, a piercing pain swept through his body. Ning Yu groaned as a deep wound was cut into his arm, and blood gushed out.
"Ning Yu!"
From afar came Mu Xue's heart-wrenching screams, her voice filled with despair and worry. Hearing Mu Xue's voice, Ning Yu felt a surge of intense will to live. He couldn't die here; he had to live, he had to protect Mu Xue!
"ah!"
Ning Yu roared and pushed the giant python away with all his might. He staggered back a few steps, blood staining his clothes. The python was stunned by his strength and did not attack again for a moment. Instead, it stared at him warily, its scarlet eyes flashing with doubt.
"Now!"
A glint of light flashed in Ning Yu's eyes. He felt that the newborn power responding to his will. He concentrated his mind, trying to capture that power and guide it to flow through his limbs and bones...
"Feel...my power..." Ning Yu's lips curled into a cold smile as he slowly raised his right hand, pointing at the giant python, his eyes as cold as knives.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue cried out loudly when she saw Ning Yu being bitten by the giant python. Her voice was filled with despair.
Hearing Mu Xue's voice, Ning Yu felt a surge of intense resentment and unwillingness. He couldn't fall here! A hint of contempt flashed in the giant python's cold, vertical pupils, and its thick tail swept across like a steel whip, violently lashing Ning Yu away. Ning Yu groaned and crashed heavily to the ground several meters away, feeling as if all the bones in his body were about to shatter.
The giant python gave Ning Yu no chance to catch his breath, its massive body crushing him like a bulldozer, reaching him in an instant. Ning Yu struggled to get up, but it was too late. The python opened its blood-red maw, a foul stench assaulting his nostrils, and was about to swallow him whole.
"Get out of my way!" Ning Yu roared, desperately raising his right hand to block in front of him. The giant python bit into his arm, its sharp fangs piercing his flesh, and the intense pain made Ning Yu's vision go black.
Seemingly bored with Ning Yu's resistance, the giant python loosened its grip, its thick body coiling upwards and tightly binding him. Ning Yu struggled to breathe, his vision blurring, his ears ringing. He fought desperately, but it was as futile as being trapped in mud; he could only watch helplessly as the python tightened its grip on him.
"Ning Yu!" Mu Xue cried out in despair, but there was nothing she could do. She could only watch helplessly as Ning Yu was strangled to death by the giant python, and she was powerless to do anything about it.
Ning Yu felt his consciousness fading, the shadow of death looming over him. He was unwilling to die like this; he still had so much to do. He still wanted to protect Mu Xue, and he wanted to avenge those who had betrayed him!
"Ah!" Ning Yu let out a roar of unwilling anger. He concentrated all his mental energy, trying his best to feel the power within his body. That power was still there, but it seemed to be bound by something, and no matter how hard he tried, he could not release it.
The giant python tightened its grip, and Ning Yu felt his bones creaking as if they were about to snap. His consciousness began to fade, and the world before him grew increasingly blurry, with only Mu Xue's desperate cries still echoing in his ears.
"No..." Ning Yu used the last bit of strength to utter a single word with difficulty.
Just then, he felt the giant python coiled around him suddenly stop contracting, and a powerful energy surge emanated from its body, causing it to writhe restlessly.
"What's going on?" The man in black, hiding in the shadows, looked at the scene before him and muttered to himself in confusion, "This power is..."
Mu Xue was frantic. Without thinking, she picked up a rock from the ground and hurled it at the giant python. The rock struck the python's hard scales with a dull thud, but it didn't cause any harm. The python became even more enraged. It let out a deafening roar, and its massive body tightened violently, making Ning Yu feel as if his bones were about to break.
“It’s no use…” Ning Yu managed to utter a few words, his voice hoarse and weak, “Don’t waste your energy…”
Tears welled up in Mu Xue's eyes, but she didn't give up. She kept picking up stones and throwing them at the giant python, trying to provoke it and divert its attention from Ning Yu. However, all her efforts were in vain. The giant python ignored her attacks and was only focused on killing Ning Yu.
Ning Yu's consciousness began to blur, and he felt his life force rapidly draining away. But he did not give up; he kept calling out to that power deep within his heart, his last hope.
