Chapter 175 The Puppet's Counterattack, A Predicament

Ning Yu ignored Mu Xue's calls. He slowly raised his head, his empty eyes sweeping over everyone present before finally settling on Mu Xue. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly, forming a strange arc.

"Xue'er...don't be afraid..." he said in a hoarse voice, each word seeming to be squeezed out from the depths of his throat, sending chills down one's spine, "Soon...we'll be able to be together forever..."

"Ning Yu! What are you saying? Wake up!" Tears welled up in Mu Xue's eyes as she desperately tried to wake Ning Yu, but to no avail.

Just then, the mechanical puppets that had been standing still suddenly seemed to receive some command and launched an attack again. This time, their offensive was even more fierce and faster, like a storm, forcing everyone into a desperate situation.

"Captain! We'll cover you, you go!" a team member roared, using his body to block an attack from a mechanical puppet, but was pierced through the chest by a sharp blade.

"No! I won't leave! I want to stay with you!" Mu Xue's eyes were bloodshot as she desperately tried to break through the puppets' encirclement, but she was ruthlessly forced back.

"Sister Xue, you have to go! We have no hope left! You must live!" Another team member used his last bit of strength to push Mu Xue away, but he was overwhelmed by the swarming mechanical puppets.

Watching her companions fall one by one, Mu Xue felt as if her heart was being torn apart. She knew that if she didn't find a way out, they would all die here.

Just then, she noticed a detail: when the mechanical puppets attacked, the red light in their eyes would flicker slightly, and the flickering frequency seemed to be consistent.

"Could it be..." A bold idea surfaced in Mu Xue's mind, "Could it be that there is some kind of signal connection between these puppets?"

This discovery, like a glimmer of light in the darkness, brought a ray of hope to a group of desperate people...

Despair spread like a plague through the hearts of the surviving team members. Back to back, they brandished their weapons, wearily fending off wave after wave of attacks from the mechanical golems. Everyone was wounded, their tattered clothes stained with blood, but no one retreated, for they knew that behind them were their comrades whom they had sworn to protect with their lives.

"Sister Xue, what do we do? We'll all die if this continues!" a team member shouted hoarsely, his voice ripped apart by the shrill screech of the mechanical puppets colliding metal.

Mu Xue gritted her teeth, her gaze rapidly scanning her surroundings. The mechanical eyes, flashing red light, flickered like will-o'-the-wisps, seemingly mocking their powerlessness. Suddenly, as if remembering something, she abruptly raised her head, staring intently at the red lights.

“Wait, those red lights…” she murmured, her voice trembling slightly, “the flashing frequency of those red lights… seems to be the same!”

This discovery ripped through the despairing night sky like lightning, and Mu Xue's heart pounded. She recalled the complex wiring and flashing indicator lights at the control panel earlier… Could it be…

"Could it be that these mechanical puppets are controlled through some kind of signal connection?!" Mu Xue took a deep breath, suppressing the thought in her heart, and didn't voice it. Now was not the time; saying it would only disappoint everyone.

She had to be sure, to be sure, whether her guess was correct, and more importantly, whether they had the ability to exploit this.

"Concentrate and get as close to me as possible!" Mu Xue shouted, her voice filled with an unprecedented determination. "We might still have a chance!"

Hearing Mu Xue's words, a glimmer of hope rekindled in the team members' eyes. They supported each other, huddled together around Mu Xue, and warily watched the restless metal monsters around them. Everyone held their breath, awaiting Mu Xue's next instruction.

Mu Xue took a deep breath, her gaze fixed on the mechanical puppets, her clenched fists trembling slightly. Success or failure hinged on this moment…
