Chapter 209 Grandma Chen Passes Away

Before we knew it, a light drizzle began to fall outside.

A spring rain fell gently, mingling with the soft evening breeze as it eagerly descended to the ground.

The rain deepened the gray of the cement ground, and the halo under the streetlights seemed to be covered with a thin veil of dust.

Shen Yurong drove to pick up Shen Xu to go home, and Ning Yanshu carried an umbrella to see him downstairs.

Upon arriving downstairs, the Maymacher stopped at the entrance to the stairs.

Shen Yurong was standing in the stairwell sheltering from the rain when he saw the two children coming down. He opened the back door of the car.

After boarding the car, Shen Xu reluctantly said goodbye to Ning Yanshu, comforting her by saying, "Don't cry, don't be sad."

Ning Yanshu sniffed.

He stood on tiptoe and handed the umbrella to Chen Xu through the car window: "Little brother, take this umbrella, it wouldn't be good if you got sick or caught a cold."

Shen Xu obediently hugged the umbrella tightly to his chest.

Shen Yurong was about to return to the driver's seat when he saw Ning Yanshu looking listless and asked with concern, "What's wrong? Why are you so listless? Did your parents scold or beat you?"

Ning Yanshu raised his eyelids speechlessly and said, "Uncle, do you adults think that we children only care about such trivial things every day?"

"Otherwise what?" Shen Yurong squatted down, unusually patient: "Seriously, what happened? What's bothering you? Tell me so your uncle can cheer you up."

Ning Yanshu: "..."

Although he felt that Shen Yurong was unreliable, the questions hidden in his heart left him unsure of who to confide in.

Ning Yanshu looked around and confirmed that 057 was not there.

He looked at the man in front of him and finally couldn't suppress his trepidation as he asked, "Uncle, what is a villain?"

"What?" Shen Yurong was taken aback at first, then said, "Such a trivial problem, why are you looking so worried?"

Shen Yurong made a gesture to pinch Ning Yanshu's face, but was angrily slapped away by the other party.

Seeing that Ning Yanshu was about to lose his temper, he quickly explained, "A villain is an antagonist in a story. They are usually enemies of justice and represent darkness and evil."

Ning Yanshu's expression was serious, and he frowned: "I don't understand..."

Shen Yurong choked up.

He thought for a moment and tried to explain in a different way: "The villains are like the monsters in Ultraman. For example, your favorite Ultraman, Tiga, the villains in Ultraman are Celia, Magnia, and Gatanothor, understand?"

Upon hearing Shen Yurong's words, Ning Yanshu's face turned pale and then red.

The people he hated most in his life were Celia and Magnia.

His lips trembled as he asked anxiously, "If it's a monster, then Ultraman will definitely destroy it, right?"

"Of course."

Shen Yurong got a little tired after squatting for a long time.

He stood up, stretched his limbs, and said, "After all, he's a villain. If he's not defeated by the protagonist, how can justice prevail?"

Ning Yanshu stood there blankly, his body stiff.

Whenever he thought of Celia and Magnia, he felt incredibly cold.

He turned around in a daze and staggered up the stairs, one step at a time.

Even when Shen Yurong called him from behind, he didn't respond.

"Is he alright?"

Shen Xu frantically pounded on the car body from behind, trying to get out, but the door was locked.

Shen Yurong quickly stopped him: "My ancestor, what are you trying to do now?"

Shen Xu puffed up his cheeks angrily: "Big brother is bad! Bad! He bullies me!"

Shen Yurong didn't understand, but he knew he had been scolded.

He curled his lip and returned to the driver's seat: "You heartless little brat, I even came to pick you up in the rain."

In the quiet rainy night, the sound of a car starting its engine could be heard.

The rain grew heavier, creating a misty fog.

The red car lights flashed in the night, eventually blurring and disappearing from sight...

...

The next day, Grandma Chen passed away...

...

When she learned of this news, Ning Wan was shocked and couldn't help but find it hard to believe.

Just yesterday, everyone was sitting around a table, having a lively meal.

How could everything have changed overnight?

That kind and friendly smiling face will never be seen again. The only thing left is that cold, lifeless body.

Ning Yanshu lay on Grandma Chen's body, crying so hard she almost choked.

He uttered the childish words, "Get up!"

But the kind old man in my memory can no longer hold the money, smiling as he says to them, "Take this, buy some candy."...

...

Ning Wan and Shen Fu arranged Grandma Chen's funeral.

Since there were few relatives and friends, the funeral arrangements were kept simple.

While wiping away her tears, Xu Xiufeng wiped Chen's body and changed her into new clothes.

As the towel wiped the old woman's withered and thin arms, Xu Xiufeng's voice was still choked with sobs.

She reminisced about the past, feeling heartache and regret for the suffering that Grandma Chen had endured.

“I have never met her family. She has always been a loner. Sometimes she acts crazy and says things that no one can understand. Everyone says she has gone mad from looking for her child.”

Xu Xiufeng soaked the towel in warm water to wet it, and then continued to wipe the old man's cheeks.

"Actually, I know the old lady suffered in her heart. She never enjoyed any happiness in her life; it was as if she came into this world specifically to suffer. Now that the hardships and trials are over, there is no more pain, and it's good that she's gone... good..."

After wiping her body, Xu Xiufeng and Ning Wan worked together to help Grandma Chen change into a clean and beautiful coat.
