Chapter 80 Family

Chapter 80 Family

"Let me go."

The girl seemed to be crying; her voice was choked with sobs, and her whole body was trembling slightly.

You can't beat them.

Lady Ye uttered these words without any emotion, her expression unusually cold.

"I know, I know... but they're my family..." Family? Madam Ye frowned; the word was somewhat unfamiliar to her. She couldn't understand her thin, bean-like subordinate. She clearly knew she had little chance against those people. Why? Why would she still go to save them?

"Please, let me go." The little girl's voice was hoarse, her tone heavy, as if she were extremely calm. She raised an eyebrow, curious about what the girl would do. So she loosened her grip and released the girl.

"Lend me the dagger." Fan Xiaoxiao lowered her head, her expression hidden in the shadows, making it difficult to discern her true intentions.

The person above her didn't react. Just as Fan Xiaoxiao was about to give up, a gleaming dagger tip was thrust towards her. The woman's tone was cold, as if she was somewhat displeased.

"Heh, don't disappoint me."

...

"Let me go!"

Madam Fan struggled incessantly, staring at her husband, Uncle Wang, lying on the ground, his life hanging in the balance, the cries of her son echoing in her ears. Each cry felt like a knife twisting in her heart. They could have hidden in the secret compartment. It was her! She was the one who said her sister had gone out, that she was worried and wanted to wait for her return! It was all her fault! It was all her fault! She's the one who ruined everyone!

"Waaaaah, Uncle! Xiao Bao! You bastard! Let me go!"

During the struggle, Fan's hand struck the burly man behind her in the face, leaving two bloody marks. The man frowned sharply, his tone irritated and impatient, and slapped Fan across the face, instantly swelling her cheek to the size of a steamed bun.

"You bitch! Quiet down! It's your good fortune to become our boss's wife! If the last one hadn't died so quickly, you wouldn't be here now!"

With one hand held by the man, Fan covered her already swollen face with the other. She felt her head buzzing and her vision filled with white stars.

"Waaaaah, Mother!"

Xiao Bao's cries reached her ears in a muffled way; the slap had made it difficult for her to hear the sound clearly.

"son……"

The man who had just knocked Uncle Wang unconscious with a punch walked over. He had a large black mole on his chin, and he frowned when he saw Fan's face.

"Hey! Qin Tiedan! Don't you dare smash her face! If you smash it, where are we going to find another pretty young woman for the boss!"

"Don't worry! You have to use the right technique when beating up women! I've remembered everything the boss taught me!"

"Hey, you little rascal!"

Fan Xiaoxiao, emerging from the darkness, took in every word these people said. With her head lowered and one hand behind her back, she slowly walked over.

"Girl...girl, run!!!" Aunt Wang was the first to notice her. She lowered her voice and scrambled towards Fan Xiaoxiao, trying to protect her as she escaped.

But how could a woman be faster and stronger than those thieves? The bearded man noticed them, sneered twice, and grabbed Wang Da Niang's hair.

"Oh, here comes another young lady!"

"This one is too small and dry, not as fresh and lively as this one!"

Hearing the men's vulgarities, Fan Xiaoxiao remained unmoved. The bearded man, however, seemed intrigued and brought his face close to Fan Xiaoxiao's. An indescribable stench assaulted her nostrils, and the man's opening and closing mouth revealed a mouthful of yellow teeth that made Fan Xiaoxiao wince in disgust.

"Hey! Little girl! What are you doing!"

Fan Xiaoxiao didn't rush to speak, but first glanced at the Fan family member lying to the side. The man followed her gaze and raised his chin: "What, you two know each other?"

“That’s my sister.”

"Oh ho, so that's your sister. How come your sister looks so radiant, while you, her younger sister, are so skinny and thin, like a monkey? Did your sister abuse you?" The man smiled maliciously, seemingly waiting to see Fan Xiaoxiao lose her composure.

"Can I go and say a few words to my sister?" Fan Xiaoxiao asked expressionlessly, staring intently at her sister lying on the ground. Fan Shi looked unwell, swaying as if she were about to faint.

Seeing how uninteresting the girl was, the man curled his lip and said, "Tch, boring. Go on, if you have any ulterior motives, I advise you to save your breath!"

Fan Xiaoxiao ignored the man and walked straight towards her older sister. Passing by Granny Wang, she saw Granny Wang's disheveled hair and her face streaked with tears. Granny Wang shook her head, choking back sobs, urging her to hurry on. Fan Xiaoxiao gave a stiff smile, gazed at her deeply, turned away, and continued towards Fan Shi.

"Auntie... Waaaaah!"

Xiao Bao clung to Uncle Wang, his eyes filled with tears as he looked at his aunt. The rascal had just thrown him, scraping his knee, and he couldn't even stand. He shook his head, his voice choked with sobs as he called out to his little aunt.

Fan was already somewhat dazed. She covered her ears, and everything around her sounded like a buzzing noise. Fan Xiaoxiao walked over, and Fan could only make out a blurry figure squatting down in front of her, then opening and closing its mouth and saying something.

"Sister...I'm sorry, I...you...don't be afraid." Madam Fan shook her head and tried to move closer to Fan Xiaoxiao.

"Sister? What...did you say?"

"I'm sorry, sister."

A large patch of dark clouds obscured the moon, and without the light of the sun, everything around us was plunged into darkness again.

"Pfft"

Madam Fan's eyes widened. She heard it clearly—the sound of a sharp object piercing flesh. She lowered her head in disbelief, and in her line of sight was a blood-stained dagger.

"You..." Before she could finish speaking, the person in front of her slowly drew a dagger and then shoved her violently. Madam Fan felt a sudden dizziness, and before she could even ask why, everything went black and she lost consciousness.

Everyone present was stunned by what they saw.

The Fan family member lying there had blood all over her abdomen, a truly horrifying sight. Fan Xiaoxiao slowly stood up, blood dripping from the dagger in her hand onto the deck.

With a clang, the dagger was thrown next to Fan Shi, and the noise seemed to wake everyone present.

The bearded man closest to her shoved Fan Xiaoxiao aside and reached out to check her breathing. Fortunately, she didn't seem to be dead, though her breathing was very weak. He clenched his fists and stood up, the veins on his forehead bulging with anger.

"You son of a bitch!!!! What the hell have you done?!"

Stumbled back two steps after being pushed, barely managing to steady herself, and then chuckled softly.

"Haha, you want a woman? Now all you have is me, so you can only take me. She's half-dead like this, taking her back would just be bad luck. Ugh, I've had enough of this life of uncertainty!"

As long as I'm fed and clothed, I'll do anything! She and I are sisters; I'm just thin because I eat less! A woman who's given birth and a virgin! You two should think carefully about which one will make your boss happier!

The bearded man put Fan down and stared at Fan Xiaoxiao's crazy smile, his teeth grinding together.

"You son of a bitch! I'll kill you..."

"Wait! Qin Tiedan! She's right! If we kill her, we won't be able to explain ourselves!" The man with the mole stopped him, glancing at Fan Xiaoxiao with a dark and unreadable look in his eyes.

"Bring her back; that should at least be enough to appease the boss!"

Having said that, he stepped forward and tried to push Fan Xiaoxiao away. As they passed Xiaobao, the child finally reacted, murmuring something, as if talking to himself, "Auntie, you...you can't take my auntie away..."

Qin Tiedan scoffed and glared at him: "You call yourself an aunt! Didn't you see she stabbed your mother?"

Xiao Bao seemed startled by those words, staring blankly at his mother, large tears rolling down his cheeks: "No, my aunt didn't... Auntie loves us the most..."

"Tch, you idiot. Hey, you little slut, don't you have anything to say to this idiot?"

Fan Xiaoxiao stared into the depths of the night, where everything was pitch black. She didn't dare look back at Xiaobao's expression. After a brief pause, she continued walking forward in silence.

After walking a few steps away, she heard the child's heart-wrenching cries carried on the wind.
