Chapter 45: Abducted

Talina stamped her feet anxiously. The soldiers were coming very fast and if she didn't run now she would be stuck. She lifted the door curtain and looked inside, but there was no one there!

She was shocked. Where are those Deadpools?

Abandoned her and ran away?

Luo Wenhao sat in the Crown Prince's tent drinking tea, while Song Jiaren was roasting sweet potatoes for them.

Gu Zhen had eaten it once and thought it tasted good, so he asked Song Jiaren to bake another one for General Luo to try. They were really bored waiting because the people of Wusun were too cautious. They waited for a whole night but there was no movement.

After finishing the roasted sweet potatoes, I heard the soldiers come to report that a suspicious person had been captured.

Gu Zhen said in a deep voice, "Bring him in."

It turned out to be Talina who was twisted and brought in by two soldiers with their arms held down. Luo Wenhao didn't know what to say. This was too bold. They had clearly sent someone to send her back, but she actually came back secretly.

Talina's mouth was gagged, her hands were tied, her hair was disheveled, and her veil was hanging crookedly, as if it was about to fall off. She shouted incoherently.

Gu Zhen frowned. "Why is she yelling? Let her speak."

The soldier roughly pulled the rag out of Talina's mouth.

"Pfft." Talina spat twice, her face flushing red as she said, "What are you doing? Your Highness, is this how you treat the Princess of Wusun?"

Gu Zhen heard this and asked coldly, "I sent someone to send you back to Wusun, but you sneaked out of the camp. What's your intention?"

Talina pretended to still have feelings for the Crown Prince and said shyly, "I missed you day and night after I went back, so I couldn't help but come back to see you."

"Oh, do you think I'm as stupid as you?" Gu Zhen said in an unhappy tone, "You are in cahoots with those black-clad, black-veiled deadpools. Your goal is to get the tiger talisman."

Talina's breath hitched, and she nervously argued, "What man in black? I don't know!"

Seeing that she still hadn't reacted at this point, Luo Wenhao couldn't help but sarcastically say, "Do you really think any envoy or princess can enter this camp? And you were allowed to stay for two days and then sent back safely? His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and I have long guessed your intentions, so we're taking advantage of your trick."

Then he said, "How else could you sneak into the tent so easily and get the tiger talisman?"

Talina said in disbelief, "You planned all this long ago? So, the tiger talisman must be fake, and you have captured all those deadpools?"

Luo Wenhao shook his head. "No, they should have taken the fake tiger talisman back to report. You are the burden they abandoned."

Abandoned?

"I'm a princess! How dare they!" Talina's eyes widened in anger.

Gu Zhen watched coldly for a while, and when he couldn't get anything out of her, he ordered the soldiers to gag her again and take her away.

The Deadpools rushed back with the fake tiger talisman, exhausted. When the Queen learned that they had obtained the tiger talisman, she was anxious to meet them.

"Where's the tiger talisman?"

Lusa took out the tiger talisman and handed it over with a sympathetic look, not daring to look directly at the queen for fear of being discovered.

The Queen laughed happily, "The Chinese are so careless. Their Emperor certainly never thought that the Tiger Tally would fall into our hands."

Lusha didn't dare to stay for long, so she found an excuse and left. A few days later, she escaped while going out to do something. The tiger talisman was fake, and it would definitely not be concealed for long. If it was exposed in the future, she would be doomed to death. It would be better to escape now when no one was paying attention.

Gu Zhen and Luo Wenhao had already prepared a countermeasure for the Wusun Kingdom to mobilize troops with the fake tiger talisman, but they waited for two days and heard no movement.

Luo Wenhao paced the tent, a little impatient. "Your Highness, logically speaking, the Wusun Kingdom should have immediately dispatched troops to the border areas after obtaining the tiger talisman. They dared not come directly to the camp and would wait until they had gathered their forces before confronting the camp. However, they haven't made any move in two days..."

It shouldn't be.

He felt a little uneasy. Although the fake tiger talisman was in their hands just as His Royal Highness the Crown Prince had planned, he still felt an undercurrent surging, which made his back feel a little creepy.

Gu Zhen also frowned and thought about what had happened. Everything went smoothly. In order to avoid mistakes, only Changfeng, Shitou, General Luo and him were involved in this matter. Even Song Jiaren was unclear about it. If the Wusun Kingdom got the tiger talisman but did nothing, it meant that they knew it was fake, or there was some other conspiracy that he had not thought of.

He underestimated the Queen of Wusun. Suddenly, a white light flashed through his mind. His heart skipped a beat and he walked out eagerly.

Luo Wenhao was stunned for a moment and shouted, "Your Highness..." What's going on? Why are you so anxious?

He followed him, but when he came out of the tent, he couldn't see anyone. He could only go back and wait in confusion.

Gu Zhen ran all the way back to the tent, his face was anxious and a little pale, and he prayed in his heart that Song Jiaren must stay in the tent, whether she was sleeping or eating, she must stay in the tent.

He lifted the door curtain and stepped in. The tent was empty.

Gu Zhen shouted outside, "Stone! Stone!"

Shitou came over after hearing the noise and asked, "Your Highness, what's wrong?"

"Hurry up and send someone to find Song!" Gu Zhen's tone was cold, and he was very annoyed. He hoped that she was okay.

Shitou saw that His Majesty had a serious expression and did not dare to be negligent. He quickly called a few people to look for Song all over the camp. But strangely, they searched the chicken coop, duck house, pigpen and vegetable shed where she usually went, but couldn't find her. They also went to the kitchen and all the tents to look around, but still couldn't find her.

"Your Highness, we haven't found it in the camp."

After a long while, Gu Zhen sighed deeply and said, "I understand... Go down."

Shitou hesitated for a moment. Judging from the prince's appearance, Song must have escaped. "...Should we search outside the camp? Or post a notice to hunt her down?"

Gu Zhen was in no mood to explain to him. She just shook her head and sat dejectedly in the chair. "No need, go down." She closed her eyes, and the helplessness and fear she felt when she was kidnapped kept popping up in her mind. Her heart felt like it was being burned by fire, her head was throbbing with pain, and even her fingers were shaking.

Usually, I only see Song Jiaren as having many ideas, being eccentric, and looking heartless, but she is afraid of small insects, the dark, and is afraid of death. She can't stand any pain. Although she has been sleeping in the open air with him, she has never suffered any real hardship, so I don't know how scared she would be at this moment.

When Luo Wenhao arrived, the tent was completely dark, with only a faint figure visible under the window. He looked carefully and recognized it as the Crown Prince. "...Your Highness."

He was called once but couldn't say anything else. He was responsible for the Song family's disappearance in the camp. The soldiers guarding the gate also accepted their punishments, but they still had no clue.

Gu Zhen slowly moved his stiff body. He sat on the chair where Song Jiaren often sat, looking out the window. From the dawn to the sunset and then the starry sky, he sat in front of the window and looked, motionless, even his mind was blank. He didn't think of anything at all, and had no idea how to find her.

For the first time in my life, I felt powerless.

His voice became hoarse after just one afternoon. "General Luo, the Song family... must have been kidnapped."

Luo Wenhao was shocked. "Who sneaked into the camp?"

Gu Zhen sighed, his chest still heavy with anxiety. "It's Chang Feng."

"Changfeng? Your personal bodyguard? Why would he kidnap Song?" Luo Wenhao didn't know the reason and secretly guessed, could it be that Changfeng liked Song and took her away in the chaos?

If that’s the case, it seems like His Royal Highness the Crown Prince also has feelings for the Song family, which is a difficult situation.

"Changfeng is a straightforward and stubborn person, even a little pedantic. He believes that Song's origins are unknown and it is always dangerous for her to be around me. Therefore, I have made things difficult for Song many times on the way here, and even thought of getting rid of her. I punished Changfeng several times because he has followed me since he was a child, hoping that he could think it through. I didn't expect that he never gave up and actually took the opportunity to kidnap Song and disappeared." Gu Zhen couldn't explain his mood at the moment, the anxiety and expectation. He hoped that Changfeng would not do anything stupid, and also hoped that he could think it through and bring Song Jiaren back.

Luo Wenhao also sighed. Changfeng did this for the sake of His Highness, but he acted too extreme, which led to the current situation. Now they can only wait.

When Song Jiaren woke up, she felt a little pain on the back of her neck. She opened her mouth but couldn't say anything. Then she realized that her mouth was gagged, her hands and feet were tied, and her eyes were blindfolded.

She only remembered sleeping in the tent, and then she knew nothing more.

Who kidnapped her?

There was a rustling sound of voices coming from outside. Song Jiaren pricked up her ears and listened carefully, but she couldn't understand a single word. The pronunciation sounded like someone from the Wusun Kingdom. There was also a man's voice among them, which sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember where it was at the moment.

In the darkness, she couldn't feel the time, nor was she aware of the situation around her. Even though she was very uneasy, she couldn't show it, because she didn't know if anyone was watching her. She could only distract herself by thinking about other things. She was expected to think about various modern delicacies and snacks, or celebrity idols, but she didn't expect that the person who appeared in her mind was the cold-faced but warm-hearted Crown Prince.

After being here for so long, she always treated His Royal Highness the Crown Prince as a character in a book. She flattered him out of the hope of having a better life in ancient times. She went into exile with him just to stay away from the male and female protagonists to save her life. She had never really thought about Gu Zhen as a person.

Departing from the inherent description in the book, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Gu Zhen is actually not that unkind. He couldn't bear to abandon her who was useless and incompetent, and he didn't complain at all when she was injured and unconscious. When she showed up in public, he just grumbled a few words, didn't stop her, and silently cleaned up the mess for her.

Even when he knew that she might be infected with the plague, he did not abandon her. Instead, he took her to find medicine and took good care of her. He could accept her shocking ideas and even considered a lot for her instead of taking advantage of her. It can be said that he listened to her every word and doted on her.

However, she has always harbored selfish feelings towards such a good prince, always thinking about leaving and preparing a way out for herself. She is really heartless.

I wonder if the camp is in chaos after she disappeared, or if they are looking for her everywhere?

When she thought that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince might be looking for her like a headless fly, or even walking outside in the heavy snow for a whole day and night looking for her, she hated the shameless villain who kidnapped her!

At least let her leave a message!
