Chapter 58: Inside the Hibiscus Tent

Just when she felt bored and wanted to withdraw, she was restrained by a force that could not be ignored. His Royal Highness the Crown Prince's warm lips and tongue passed around her lips, holding her tongue that had just been causing trouble, and guiding her clumsy response.

Song Jiaren forgot to breathe and stretched out her hand to push twice.

Gu Zhen released her lips, his lips still pressed against the corner of her lips, drawing an ambiguous silver line, and said calmly, "How is it?" His voice was a little hoarse and low.

Song Jiaren's mind was in a mess. She looked up at him in confusion and asked, "What's going on?"

Gu Zhen brushed away the sweat-soaked strands of hair from her forehead. "How do you feel? Are you feeling uncomfortable? After all, I'm not very experienced in this kind of thing."

Song Jiaren's face turned red like a tomato, and she coughed lightly to ease the embarrassment.

"Why don't you do it again? Maybe you'll know." He spoke in a very soft voice, almost next to her ear, and then he lowered his head and kissed her again.

It was very different from the previous time. This time it was as if he wanted to swallow her up, as ferociously as if he was biting her.

The breath sprayed on her nostrils, and there was a cool air between her lips and teeth. She was so sensitive that a dense layer of tiny bumps appeared on her lips and tongue. Her lips and tongue root were burning with pain. She couldn't help but push him a few times, but her soft strength couldn't shake him at all.

Song Jiaren's face was flushed and her expression was dazed. The air was filled with a sweet and ambiguous smell. As their breaths met and their lips blended, she passively accepted the feeling he gave her.

Gu Zhen originally thought that a pair of red lips could relieve the heat, but he didn't expect that it would burn himself and everything was out of control. His tightly pursed thin lips, slowly sliding Adam's apple and unbearable swallowing all proved that he was also a participant in this storm.

The voice was hoarse. "Does it hurt?"

She nodded imperceptibly and cried in his ear, "It hurts a little."

His hands tightly held her waist, his voice was a little hoarse, "Bear with it, there's nothing I can do."

The hibiscus tent was warm all night, and the next morning light shone into the tent. Gu Zhen was sleeping on his side on the couch, holding the awakened Song Jiaren in his arms, their messy hair tangled together.

She tried to pull the quilt up, but her arms were sore and she couldn't lift them. It took a lot of effort, but she didn't expect him to wake up. "What's wrong?"

Song Jiaren blushed and whispered, "...It's time to get up."

"Sleep a little longer, aren't you tired?" Gu Zhen still had his eyes closed, but the corners of his lips curled up.

It was not until near noon that Gu Zhen got up and dressed under Song Jiaren's evasive gaze. When the latter wanted to stay and help her dress, she glared at him and sent him out.

After the defeat of the Wusun Kingdom, other countries around the border were temporarily calm, and even the number of spies decreased a lot.

The soldiers still did not dare to relax. Apart from daily training in the martial arts training ground, they had no other entertainment. One morning, a patrolling soldier happened to meet His Royal Highness the Crown Prince coming out of the tent. The corners of his mouth seemed to be slightly upturned, so they guessed that it must be related to the Song family. The specific situation was unknown.

They could never have guessed that His Royal Highness the Crown Prince had just consummated his marriage last night and was so happy at this moment.

Inside the tent, Song Jiaren dragged her tired body to wash and dress. Although she was shy, she was not that conservative. She assumed that they were in love with each other and this was something that would happen naturally. However, her whole body felt like it had been taken apart and reassembled, her legs were sore and her waist was weak.

What bothered her most was that people in ancient times didn't seem to pay much attention to fertility issues. Fortunately, she roughly calculated that it was currently a safe period and she shouldn't get pregnant. However, she couldn't take chances every time, or ask someone who had eaten meat to become a vegetarian again, which was unlikely.

Gu Zhen went to the kitchen to bring breakfast back and saw Song Jiaren mumbling something beside the couch. He asked puzzledly, "What are you thinking about? Sit up and eat first."

"I'm not thinking anything." She couldn't tell His Royal Highness the Crown Prince about this kind of thing directly. He certainly wouldn't understand. In the ancients' thinking, continuing the family line was the most important thing. She didn't need to make herself unhappy.

Then he suddenly remembered the ship's steward and the matter of compensation. After taking a few sips of vegetable porridge, he hesitantly asked, "Has that...ship's steward...come yet?"

Gu Zhen ate faster than her, and the porridge in his bowl was almost empty. "He came here. General Luo has already told me about it. The steward took the money, left a copy of the list, and left. What's wrong? Are you still worried that I don't have the money to compensate you?"

Song Jiaren said leisurely, "Did you really lose money?" With the income from the hot pot restaurant, she was not worried.

Although he had spent a fortune to save Narenhua, she had thought it was a desperate move at that time. Now with the income from the hot pot restaurant, he should be considered a rich man.

Gu Zhen stood up and walked out. After a while, he came back with an ebony box, placed it next to Song Jiaren, and said calmly, "Open it and take a look."

Song Jiaren raised one eyebrow, secretly guessing what was inside. Judging from the size of the box, could it be gold, silver, jewelry or something like that?

The box was opened and Song Jiaren took out the stacks of banknotes.

Wow.

How much money does this cost!

Seeing her slightly open mouth, Gu Zhen laughed and said, "There are not only banknotes here, but also deeds to shops and farms. Most of them have been sold in the capital now. Anyway, I don't plan to go back, so I bought property here."

Song Jiaren simply counted them. There were dozens of banknotes alone, a thick stack. "Well... you showed them to me, aren't you afraid that I'll miss them?"

Gu Zhen couldn't help laughing after hearing this. He chuckled softly, "These were originally given to you. Don't worry about them. These things will be yours from now on."

Song Jiaren was stunned after hearing this. "For me? But..." She doesn't know how to manage. How can she manage so many shops and farms?

She looked at the papers in the box in confusion, as if there was a No. 53 in it, and suddenly she felt overwhelmed.

He evaded the issue by saying, "Let whoever was in charge before continue to be in charge."

Gu Zhen's expression was solemn, refusing her refusal. He said seriously, "In the years since I was crowned Crown Prince, my assets have grown year by year, all managed by the mansion's steward. After I was exiled, I asked him to stay in the capital to sell the shop, but he's quite old and unable to do so. You must familiarize yourself with him as soon as possible while he can still help."

Gu Zhen paused for a moment, took a sip of tea, and continued, "I'm not asking you to pick it up right away, but I'm giving you a message so that you can be prepared and learn slowly. Sooner or later, I will have to take care of it."

Song Jiaren understood what he meant. He would not take care of these things after all, but these things were not something she, a concubine, could manage, right? Or was he just asking her to manage them on his behalf, and then hand them over after he married a proper wife?

She is just making wedding dresses for others, so why should she endure such hardship?

Song Jiaren suppressed the displeasure in her eyes and instantly lost interest in these banknotes. "Leave it with me first. When you find someone you can trust, give it to her later. But you have to be quick, because I definitely don't have the time to do it for others."

Song Jiaren collected her thoughts and said some sour words with a forced smile.

Gu Zhen frowned and said, "What trustworthy person do you mean? Who is this woman? What does it mean to be a bride for someone else?"

Song Jiaren clenched her fists, suppressing her unhappiness. Not wanting to argue with him, she said slowly, "I'm just a concubine. Don't you think it's a bit... a bit... unfair to give these to me?"

She really couldn't think of any words to describe it, so she could only use the word "unequal", and it was indeed unequal.

The tent was quiet for a while. Gu Zhen looked at her tense little face, relaxed his breath slightly, and stared at her seriously. His eyes were deep and dark, making her a little uneasy. Then he slowly said, "So this is what you mean."

Song Jiaren thought he understood, nodded and said, "Yes, that's what I mean."

Gu Zhen looked at her meaningfully for a moment, then slowly said, "Then let's talk about it when you feel we're equal."

This sentence was quite meaningful. Song Jiaren didn't react for a moment. Anyway, the meaning should be similar to what she thought, that is, to hand it over after he gets married.

But when she thought that he would marry and have children in the future, and that person would not be her, she felt an unignorable sadness and sharp pain in her heart, which stung her eyes and made her nose feel sore. He even asked her to keep these banknotes, which made her feel even more wronged. She wanted to burn all these things in a fire to see what he would use to marry!

Besides, he took advantage of her last night, what a scumbag!

At night, Gu Zhen looked at the two quilts on the couch, and looked at Song Jiaren standing beside the couch with confusion, "What does this mean?"

Song Jiaren had already prepared a draft in her mind, and said quite smoothly, "I am not very honest when I sleep, and I am afraid that it will affect you, so it is better to have two quilts."

Late at night, Song Jiaren slept very uncomfortably and was sweating all over. She woke up in a daze and saw an arm across the quilt, wrapping her tightly around it. She twisted her body to avoid the restraining arm, but after a long time of effort, she only managed to loosen the quilt a little, and beads of sweat appeared on her head.

Gu Zhen was woken up by her and asked hoarsely, "What's wrong?"

"You... loosen up a little, it's very hot." Song Jiaren felt stuffy all over, and her voice was naive.

Gu Zhen was also half asleep. He half closed his eyes and took her out from under the quilt and held her in his arms.

He tightened his embrace and asked, "Aren't you covering yourself with the quilt?"

"Then don't hug me, it's too hot."

"Didn't you say you weren't sleeping well? I was afraid you'd kick off the quilt and catch a cold, so I held you tighter." After saying that, he found her lips.

Song Jiaren realized something was wrong but it was too late. She opened her eyes in confusion, and her body felt like it was on fire. Perhaps he noticed that she was a little distracted, and a bite was made on her fair shoulder. She had no time to think about anything else.

The next morning, Song Jiaren felt even more tired after waking up from a good sleep. She could hardly straighten her waist, was starving, and her arms and legs were so sore that she couldn't lift them.

Fortunately, Gu Zhen was still full of energy. He got up early in the morning and brought her hot porridge. He fed her a bowl of it before letting her lie down and continue sleeping.

When she woke up again, she felt that she had finally regained some strength and recovered a little. But every night, she would be woken up in the middle of the night when she was half asleep. Her bones were sore and her heart was filled with tears. Although she was not a cold person, she really couldn't handle this intensity.

But after just a few days, Song Jiaren looked as if she had suffered some kind of torture. There was a dark blue tinge under her eyelids, and her expression was listless. When she raised her eyes, her eyebrows were full of seductiveness.

Looking at Gu Zhen again, his dark eyes were full of energy and satisfaction. Some of the older soldiers understood what he meant, but due to his usual cold attitude, they did not dare to joke around and could only talk about it in private with regret.
