Chapter 8 Buying Ready-Made Clothes

Li Yun was so angry that he clenched his fists and spoke to Hu Lan angrily.

"Shopkeeper, this kind of behavior that hurts the enemy by a thousand and hurts yourself by eight hundred, his cloth shop won't last long. After all, if he keeps lowering prices, he'll probably end up bankrupt. Shopkeeper, relax and wait and see what happens to him in the end."

Hu Lan didn't expect that this lady would agree with his own ideas. That's why she kept holding on, just to see Ruyi Cloth Shop finally close down and see how long the shopkeeper could be so arrogant.

"Madam, you are right. I am just waiting for his retribution. I believe it will be seen soon. Madam, please don't say such irritating words. What do you think of this dark blue uniform?"

Li Yun looked at the men's casual clothes in the shopkeeper's hand. Both the craftsmanship and the style were good. They were suitable for his father-in-law's age. The shopkeeper had good taste.

"Shopkeeper, you picked a good set of casual clothes. It suits my father-in-law very well. You have good taste."

"Madam, you're joking. Then let's choose this one. How about this dark blue casual suit?"

Li Yun saw the shopkeeper bring out another set of dark blue uniforms. The uniforms looked great on his father-in-law. If he put them on, his mother-in-law would surely be speechless and unable to take her eyes off them. Li Yun was once again impressed by the shopkeeper's aesthetic taste.

"This set is also fine. The shopkeeper has a unique vision, which I admire. Please pack both sets for me."

"Okay ma'am, take a look at the women's clothing. I'll be back soon."

After the shopkeeper finished speaking, he happily went to pack the clothes.

After the shopkeeper left, Li Yun began to examine her clothes. One particular dress caught her eye. It was embroidered with plum blossoms, so lifelike, it felt as if a single blossom had appeared before her eyes. It was truly beautiful. The craftsmanship and wisdom of the ancients were unmatched. Li Yun felt the fabric; it was pure cotton, smooth and soft.

Li Yun looked around for a while and chose a lilac-colored skirt, embroidered with lotus flowers and lotus leaves. If she wore it, she would definitely look like a lotus fairy, very beautiful.

When the shopkeeper came back, Li Yun had already chosen two dresses for herself.

"Boss, pack these two dresses for me too."

Hu Lan looked at the two skirts in Li Yun's hand. The colors and styles were good. It seemed that he was also an expert in choosing clothes. These two skirts matched her skin color very well. She looked elegant and noble when she wore them. Hu Lan took the two skirts handed to her by Li Yun.

"Madam, you have good taste. These two sets of clothes are the most popular in our store this year. They really complement your skin tone."

When Li Yun saw that the shopkeeper said the same thing, she became even more satisfied with the two skirts.

"Boss, please pack these two sets for me. I'll take a look at the others."

"Okay, ma'am, I'll go and help you wrap it up beautifully."

The shopkeeper took the skirt and went to pack it with a smile on his face. He was so happy today to have met a distinguished guest. He hadn't been so happy in a long time.

Li Yun was speechless at the shopkeeper's cheerful expression. The fact that he was happy like this only showed how bad business had been, and how gloomy the shopkeeper's mood must have been. He wondered what the shopkeeper's reaction would be when he had to exchange a few sets of children's clothing and some unfinished materials. Li Yun pouted, a smile on his face, full of anticipation.

Putting aside those distracting thoughts, Li Yun carefully helped Qin Lanlan choose clothes. Li Yun helped Qin Lanlan pick out a light blue skirt and a dark blue skirt. Both skirts were embroidered with patterns: an orchid on the light blue and a peony on the dark blue. These two skirts would definitely look very elegant and beautiful on Qin Lanlan.

Li Yun was very satisfied with her taste and went to find the shopkeeper with the skirt.

When Hu Lan saw the customer coming over with a skirt, she knew that the customer had already chosen one.

"Madam, you have chosen it. I will settle the payment for you right away. Please wait a moment, it will be ready soon."

When Li Yun saw the shopkeeper picking up the abacus and about to count the money, he quickly stopped him because he still had a lot of things to buy.

"No, no rush. I still need to buy a few sets of children's clothes and some fabrics. Can you take me to the children's section to choose clothes first?"

Hu Lan...

This was because he had misunderstood his feelings. It turned out that the lady wanted to continue buying clothes. He almost ruined the situation and drove her away. Hu Lanao angrily hit himself. Why didn't he show any understanding? He almost lost such a big customer.

Hu Lan quickly calmed down and took Li Yun to the children's area.

"Ma'am, the children's clothes are all here. I don't know if you want to buy a girl's or a boy's."

"Shopkeeper, I want to pick out four sets for boys and two sets for girls. For boys, I want two sets for five-year-olds and two sets for three-year-olds, and for girls, I want two sets for three-year-olds."

When the shopkeeper heard Li Yun introduce the ages of the children, she knew in her mind which clothes to choose. She also heard that the two children were three years old, so she guessed that they must be twins, a boy and a girl. She didn't expect that the lady had given birth to a five-year-old child at such a young age. When she first saw her, if she hadn't seen that she had a woman's hairstyle, she would have thought she was an unmarried young lady.

"Madam is so lucky to have given birth to twins, a boy and a girl. How enviable!"

"Shopkeeper, you're joking. Those three children weren't born to me. How could I possibly have given birth to a five-year-old son? They were born to my husband and their mother. Their mother died during childbirth of the twins, a boy and a girl."

"Madam, I'm sorry for speaking nonsense. I hope you won't blame me."

"It's okay, it's not a big deal. What's more, it's the truth. Although they are not my biological children, I have always treated them as my own children and loved them as if they were my own. They are also very sensible and treat me as their mother very well, which makes me very satisfied. In fact, it doesn't matter whether they are my biological children or not."
