Chapter 595 Demon Palace

Murong Jin coughed lightly, bringing his scattered thoughts back to reality and focusing his gaze on Gu Qingze in front of him.

At this time, Gu Qingze was slowly dragging the corpse out of the coffin, his movements gentle and slow.

Gu Qingze was slowly carrying the fragile corpse out of the old coffin in an almost pious manner, and every movement revealed his respect and compassion for the deceased.

Although he had a quicker way to accomplish this task, he chose the most delicate and cautious method out of consideration for the fragility of the corpse.

Murong Jin originally wanted to urge him, but when he saw Gu Qingze's focused and serious expression, he quietly swallowed back the words that were on the tip of his tongue.

It doesn't matter, there's still plenty of time...it won't hurt to wait for him for a while.

He felt it was a little unbelievable that he had such a soft-hearted thought in his heart.

Because he is not a person who is easily soft-hearted, and he prides himself on having no patience for anyone else except his sister.

But... facing Gu Qingze, the person valued by "that gentleman", he actually felt an indescribable affinity. This feeling was both wonderful and strange.

After Gu Qingze moved the body out, he carefully placed it on the ground, then looked up at Murong Jin, asking with his eyes about the next course of action.

Murong Jin stepped forward, stared at the empty coffin, and took out a bag of mysterious powder from the storage bag he carried with him.

He gently picked up a handful and sprinkled it inside the coffin.

In an instant, the bottom of the empty coffin seemed to be opened by an invisible hand, revealing a deep and unfathomable passage that seemed to lead directly to the depths of the earth. A cold air escaped from the passage, causing the surrounding temperature to drop sharply.

Gu Qingze witnessed this scene, a flash of surprise in his eyes, and asked in confusion: "What on earth is this powder? How can it have such a magical effect?"

Murong Jin smiled faintly upon hearing this and replied casually, "All you need to know is that this packet of powder is the key to unlocking this mechanism."

After he finished speaking, he said no more. Gu Qingze was tactful enough not to ask any further questions, but just nodded silently to show his understanding.

"Let's go down." Murong Jin said, and stepped into the passage first.

Gu Qingze followed closely behind, and the two of them walked slowly along the passage, one in front and one behind.

On both sides of the passage, complex patterns are carved on the stone walls, some of which look like ancient runes, while others look like some kind of mysterious creatures.

Under the dim light, these patterns seemed to come alive, flashing with eerie light.

As they went deeper, the passage gradually became wider, and a faint light appeared ahead. They quickened their pace and finally walked out of the passage and arrived at a huge underground palace.

"This is..." Gu Qingze looked at the huge underground palace. The entire exterior of the palace was made of hard black stone, which looked ancient and solemn.

The huge stone door is carved with intricate totems. The door hinges have long been rusted, but it is still tightly closed, revealing an air of inviolability.

On both sides of the stone gate stood two huge stone statues, holding spears and with majestic faces, as if they were the guardians of the palace. There seemed to be a gleam in the eyes of the stone statues, staring at everyone who stepped into this area.

Murong Jin simply explained this briefly and said no more: "This is the abandoned palace left behind by the previous Demon King."

He walked forward and pushed the door gently, but the stone door did not move.

He frowned and took out a peculiarly shaped key from his storage bag. The key was engraved with tiny runes and emitted a faint light.

Murong Jin inserted the key into the lock on the stone door.

As the key turned, the stone door made a low roar and slowly opened to both sides.

A chill rushed towards you, mixed with a gloomy atmosphere, which made people feel awe.

"Let's go." Murong Jin didn't know what he was thinking about, he suddenly became serious and walked straight inside.

Gu Qingze followed him silently, not feeling afraid of this palace full of unknowns.

In his eyes, this palace was just like the haunted house he had visited before, there was no difference. If there was any difference... it might be that it was a little bigger.

After Gu Qingze followed Murong Jin in, he looked around along the way. There was a thin layer of fog in the palace, and his vision was a little blurred.

But Murong Jin seemed to be unperturbed and continued walking without a pause.

The two walked along a wide corridor. The ground under their feet was paved with stone slabs, which were a little dilapidated due to their age.

Gu Qingze looked around curiously. Ancient portraits were hung on the walls. The characters in the paintings were lifelike, but their faces revealed a hint of weirdness.

This portrait seems to have life, which is a bit strange... Could there be a real person in it?

He thought divergently and followed even closer, almost only one step behind Murong Jin.

Suddenly, Murong Jin stopped. Gu Qingze didn't notice and bumped into his back.

"Hmm..." Gu Qingze rubbed his nose and raised his head in dissatisfaction, only to find Murong Jin staring at the front with a serious expression.

I saw a vague figure appearing in the fog ahead.

As the two people got closer, the figures gradually became clearer.

He was an old man in a black robe, his face was covered with wrinkles and his eyes were empty and lifeless.

He just stood there quietly, as if isolated from the whole world.

Murong Jin stepped forward, bowed slightly and said, "Senior, I'm here to get the magic sword."

The old man slowly turned his head, glanced at Murong Jin, then pointed to a door next to him.
