After a moment, his eyes fell on the cupboard. He decisively opened it and took out a few round and smooth eggs.
Then he took out some shrimps from the refrigerator. The shrimps were crystal clear and exuded a faint sea aroma.
He decided to make a dish of steamed eggs with shrimp, which is both nutritious and easy to digest.
Gu Qingze skillfully beat the eggs into a bowl and stirred them gently. The egg liquid swirled in the bowl like a small whirlpool.
Then, he added an appropriate amount of water and continued stirring until the egg liquid was as smooth as silk.
Then he washed the shrimps, and each shrimp became exceptionally clean in his hands.
He placed it carefully on the egg liquid, as if he was creating a beautiful painting.
Gu Qingze put the carefully prepared bowl of shrimp steamed egg into the steamer and carefully adjusted the time to ensure that the steamed egg tasted just right.
Then he began to prepare some side dishes.
He washed a handful of green vegetables and cut them into thin strips. The thin strips were like green silk threads.
When the steamed eggs were almost done, he blanched the shredded green vegetables in boiling water. The shredded green vegetables quickly rolled in the boiling water and were soon taken out and drained.
After a while, bursts of delicious fragrance wafted out of the steamer, and Gu Qingze knew that the steamed eggs with shrimps were ready.
He carefully took out the steamed egg, which exuded an enticing aroma and had a surface as smooth as a mirror.
He put the blanched shredded vegetables on the table, and a light and nutritious lunch was ready.
But Gu Qingze felt that something was missing. After thinking for a moment, he decided to make another spinach and tofu soup.
Gu Qingze turned around and started preparing spinach and tofu soup.
He first picked and washed the spinach. The spinach leaves were emerald green, as if they were a masterpiece of nature.
He cut it into small pieces, each of uniform size. Then he cut the tofu into small cubes for later use. The tofu was as white as snow, soft and delicate.
Add appropriate amount of water to the pot, bring to a boil, then add tofu cubes and cook for a few minutes to allow the bean aroma of the tofu to slowly release.
Then he put the spinach segments into the pot and watched the spinach quickly turn green and tender in the boiling water.
Add a little salt and chicken essence for seasoning, and a few drops of sesame oil for flavor, and the aroma will spread instantly.
After a while, a pot of steaming spinach and tofu soup was ready.
Gu Qingze placed the steamed shrimp eggs and spinach and tofu soup on a tray and walked towards Chu Lingxiao's room.
He gently pushed the door open and saw Chu Lingxiao half leaning on the bed, flipping through a book.
Gu Qingze smiled and placed the lunch on the bedside table. He said softly, "Ling Xiao, come and try the lunch I made for you. I hope you like it."
Chu Lingxiao put down the book and looked at him, his eyes seemed to be indicating something.
Gu Qingze tilted his head in confusion: "Ling Xiao, what's wrong? Is the food not to your liking?"
Seeing his confused look, Chu Lingxiao reminded him helplessly: "Qingze, aren't you going to feed me this time?"
Gu Qingze smiled and rubbed his head, teasing, "Ling Xiao, you don't really want to be a child, do you? You need someone to feed you all the time."
Chu Lingxiao pulled his arm, shook it, and said coquettishly, "Sick people are just children and should be taken care of."
"Okay, okay, then Ling Xiao, come and eat."
Gu Qingze looked at him helplessly but dotingly, picked up the spoon, gently scooped up a spoonful of steamed egg with shrimp, blew it to his lips, and then brought it to Chu Lingxiao's mouth.
Chu Lingxiao nodded in satisfaction, opened his mouth, and slowly took a bite of the delicious food.
Gu Qingze fed Chu Lingxiao while talking softly to entertain him.
"Ling Xiao, when you recover, let's make beef brisket stewed with potatoes together."
Chu Lingxiao nodded: "However, when that time comes, I want to be the head chef, and Qingze will assist me."
After a while, the meal was almost finished.
Gu Qingze looked at Chu Lingxiao's face, which had regained some color, and felt relieved.
He cleaned up the dishes and poured a glass of warm water for Chu Lingxiao and placed it beside the bed.
"Ling Xiao, have a good rest. I'll come see you later."
Chu Lingxiao held his hand and said softly, "Qingze, you must come back soon. I want you to spend more time with me."
Gu Qingze smiled and shook his hand back, "Okay, I'll come and accompany you after I finish washing the dishes."
................
In less than five minutes, Gu Qingze returned to the bedroom and saw Chu Lingxiao holding a chess set in his hand.
Chu Lingxiao looked at Gu Qingze with anticipation and said, "Qingze, how about a game of chess? I just learned how to play chess recently and I really want to try it out."
Gu Qingze readily agreed. He had played chess before, and although it had been a long time, he still remembered the rules and how to play.
He placed the chessboard steadily on the small table, then pulled over a chair, sat down slowly, and looked at the chessboard intently.
Chu Lingxiao first placed the chess pieces one by one. He gently picked up each piece and placed it accurately in the appropriate position.
He first advanced his white pawn two squares forward, a common move in chess openings.
The white soldier took steady steps on the chessboard, like a brave warrior embarking on a journey.
Gu Qingze narrowed his eyes slightly, staring at the chessboard. After thinking for a moment, he also moved the black soldier forward two squares and calmly responded to Chu Lingxiao's challenge.
The black soldiers moved forward firmly, as if announcing their presence to the white camp.
Chu Lingxiao's mouth curled up slightly, and he then jumped the white horse to the right position, landing on the chessboard quickly and agilely, threatening Gu Qingze's soldiers.
