When Chu Lingxiao first came to this small world, he was full of curiosity about everything around him, like an ignorant explorer.
Whether it is the small shops on the street, the clothes of pedestrians, or those new and interesting things he has never seen before, they can arouse his great interest.
Once, he passed by a convenience store and saw all kinds of cigarettes displayed inside.
The cigarette boxes with different packaging instantly attracted his attention, and a strong curiosity surged in his heart, wanting to try these things he had never touched before.
Seeing this, Gu Qingze stopped him in time: "Ling Xiao, smoking is harmful to your health... You have to consider your body. If you become addicted... and can't quit, then it will be troublesome."
"And..." Gu Qingze lowered his eyes slightly, his voice much softer, as if he was telling a secret known only to the two of them, "I don't like the smell of cigarettes."
Although the words were not spoken loudly, they hit Chu Lingxiao's heart hard.
After Chu Lingxiao heard this, the strong desire in his heart to try it immediately disappeared without a trace.
He moved his eyes away from the cigarettes and slowly withdrew the hand he had just extended... He would not do anything that Gu Qingze did not like.
..........................
A new family recently moved into the community where they live.
The owner of this house is named Liu Mubai, a very handsome boy with a strong scholarly air between his eyebrows.
Since they lived very close, Chu Lingxiao felt something in his heart and was curious about the arrival of this new neighbor.
He turned to look at Gu Qingze and suggested, "Qingze, the new neighbor has moved in, let's go visit him."
Gu Qingze looked at the anticipation in Chu Lingxiao's eyes and readily agreed, "Okay, it would be nice to get to know the new neighbors."
So, with a bit of curiosity and anticipation, they slowly walked towards their new neighbor's house.
When they arrived at the door, they gently knocked on the door of their new neighbor.
A moment later, the door slowly opened and the handsome boy appeared before them.
There was a hint of surprise in his eyes, as if he didn't expect a neighbor to visit.
But soon, a warm smile bloomed on his face, instantly dispelling the barriers brought by the strangeness.
"Hello, what's the matter?" Liu Mubai's voice was clear and gentle, like a stream flowing through the mountains, gently flowing through people's hearts, making people feel particularly comfortable listening to it.
Chu Lingxiao quickly said, "Hello, we are neighbors living nearby. We heard that a new family moved in, so we wanted to come visit."
Gu Qingze held a bag of fruit in both hands, handed it to him with a smile, and said, "This is a small token of my appreciation. Consider it a welcome gift."
Liu Mubai was slightly stunned. He obviously didn't expect the new neighbor to be so enthusiastic.
Then, a look of gratitude appeared on his face. He reached out to take the fruit and said softly, "Thank you."
Then he stepped aside and welcomed them into the house.
The house is decorated simply and elegantly, and every detail reveals the owner's taste.
A few simple paintings hang on the white walls, adding a touch of artistic atmosphere to the entire space.
There is a comfortable sofa and a small coffee table in the living room, on which stands a bouquet of flowers, emitting a faint fragrance.
The most eye-catching thing is the overflowing bookshelves, which are filled with all kinds of books, from ancient classic literature to modern bestsellers, from philosophical works to poetry and prose.
Chu Lingxiao's attention was attracted by the books on the bookshelf. He slowly walked closer and looked at the titles of the books carefully.
Suddenly, his eyes lit up and he saw a familiar collection of essays.
He turned to look at Liu Mubai and said, "Do you also like Mo Zhi's prose collection?"
"Yeah." Liu Mubai nodded, his eyes sparkling with his love for books. "Mozhi's writing has a kind of vitality. Every time I read it, I feel my mood getting better."
Chu Lingxiao agreed, "Indeed, when I read her writing, I always have a sense of picture, as if I have actually seen the things she describes."
Upon hearing this, Liu Mubai's eyes lit up with a smile. He looked at Chu Lingxiao as if he had found a soulmate. "It's really rare to find someone who shares the same insights as you. It can be considered a kind of fate."
Then he added: "Mr. Chu, it's a great honor."
"That's way too formal... Wait, do you know me?"
Chu Lingxiao was halfway through his speech when he suddenly realized something was wrong and asked in a somewhat flattered tone.
"Yes." Liu Mubai said, "I know you, Mr. Chu, and..."
He turned his gaze to Gu Qingze and continued, "Mr. Gu."
"Maybe you don't know this, but you're pretty... famous in this neighborhood."
Hearing this, Gu Qingze felt a little uneasy. He asked nervously, "...What exactly is he famous for?"
Liu Mubai joked, "Maybe it's about... your looks? There are many aunties who want you to be their son-in-law."
Gu Qingze and Chu Lingxiao both breathed a sigh of relief. They smiled at each other, and the tension in their hearts immediately dissipated.
Then, they continued to chat with Liu Mubai about other things, mostly about books.
They shared their favorite books and exchanged their insights into literature, as if time had stopped at this moment.
Before leaving, Liu Mubai specially gave them some cookies he had baked as a return gift.
