A letter of divorce is quite different from a letter of settlement.
The former refers to the mistakes men make when seeking women, often nitpicking.
The latter seemed to be parting ways amicably.
However, for most people, there is no difference between a divorce agreement and a letter of separation.
For example, the old lady Jiang on the ground took the divorce agreement as a letter of separation, or perhaps she simply didn't believe that Jiang Yong'an would divorce his wife.
When this youngest son first came back, he did everything he could to protect Gu An'an, so how could he possibly divorce his wife?
That's absolutely impossible.
This must be Gu An'an's excuse, just so she can make him give up and stop bothering her.
How is that possible?
She only had three sons. The eldest son was an extremely selfish person who hid in the county town and ignored his old mother.
The second son is good-for-nothing. Besides saying nice things, what else can he do to get money from me?
The only exception was the third son, who was a jinx. Although he had never been close to his own mother since childhood and had even caused his father's death, he was a capable man.
She was counting on her third brother to take care of her in her old age and see her off in death. Now that he's gone and is living a good life with that little slut Gu An'an, what am she going to do?
Grandma Jiang absolutely refused, "Don't think you can fool me like this, I don't believe you!"
Seeing this, Gu An'an sighed, "If you don't believe me, go to the yamen and ask. Isn't your eldest son working in the county yamen? He shouldn't refuse your old mother's request if you ask him for help."
Old Mrs. Jiang blushed with embarrassment at these words. "Don't try to threaten me with the government all the time. Believe me or not, I'll take all of you unfilial and disloyal people to the government."
Gu An'an shrugged. "Then go ahead."
She was afraid.
Yeah, right!
Seeing Gu An'an's nonchalant attitude, Old Mrs. Jiang suddenly felt uneasy. Just as she was thinking about how to say it, Jiang's second sister-in-law suddenly spoke up, "You said you divorced your third son, so why are you still raising the children here? Gu An'an, do you think we're fools? Are you saying you like your son and are willing to raise other people's children after being divorced?"
If I said that, nobody would believe me.
But that is indeed the case.
“It’s none of your business if I want to. I’m the head of the household now, and these children are registered in my household. If you don’t believe me, go to the government office and ask around.”
Gu An'an had already taken care of this matter some time ago. Although opening a female account is somewhat rare, money always makes things easier.
Anping County has little tax revenue, and those in the government offices don't have many ways to make money.
Of course, we won't miss an opportunity that comes knocking on our door.
Jiang Yong'an might know about this, since the divorce papers need to be copied at the county government office, and the clerk might have told him about it.
But what difference does it make whether you know or not?
Jiang Mingyi and several others are now registered under her household registration.
Jiang Ersao simply refused to believe it. What woman would willingly raise a child for a complete stranger, unless…
"How much money did he give you?" Yes, he must have received a lot of money from Jiang Yong'an, which is why he agreed to help take care of these children.
As Jiang Ersao was speaking, she saw Jiang Mingzhu and her two siblings rushing over. Her eyes lit up. "I knew it. She used to want to beat and kill these kids, but now she's suddenly changed her mind. So she took the money. I just don't know if she'll still be able to serve these 'ancestors' after she spends all that money."
What he meant might be hard for a fool to understand, but surely Gu An'an understood?
Gu An'an asked with a smile, "Are you talking about yourself?"
Jiang Ersao immediately lost face, "Gu An'an, don't try to argue with me here."
She stepped forward and grabbed Bao'er's hand. "Good girl, tell your auntie where your father went. Tell me and I'll buy you some snacks."
Knowing the child's lips, Jiang Ersao took out bait to lure Bao'er.
Jiang Mingzhu glared at her from the side and said, "Let go."
"Look what you've done to your child! So disrespectful! Does he even respect me as his elder?"
This is an insult directed at Jiang Mingzhu, accusing her of being ill-mannered and criticizing Gu An'an for not knowing how to take care of children.
They really don't give people the slightest bit of face.
Fu Lingshu looked at the noisy street and a hint of gloom flashed in her eyes.
"Miss."
"Don't worry, nanny. Let's see how she plans to handle this."
After receiving Gu An'an's letter, Fu Lingshu pondered it for a long time and asked around to find out what was going on.
Although she arrived and even inadvertently spoke up for Gu An'an, she wasn't in a hurry to decide what to do next.
Let's wait and see.
Throughout history, everyone has had a penchant for gossip.
Who doesn't enjoy a free spectacle?
Even the diners in the shop came out to see what was going on.
Jiang Ersao looked at the gossiping crowd and became even more smug. "What kind of child have you raised? The third son finally came home, and you instigated him to separate from the family and not serve his mother. How could there be such a vicious woman as you?"
Liu Jiuniang couldn't stand the framing anymore. "Jiang Lao Er's wife, have you no shame? You didn't want to take care of the child back then, so you spent a few taels of silver to trick people into coming here to take care of the child for you, and you still have the nerve to say that? Do you really think nobody knows what you've done?"
Compared to Jiang Ersao's shrewishness, Liu Jiuniang was in no way inferior; she was just not as unreasonable as Jiang Ersao.
Just when things seemed to be going very well, someone suddenly came out and criticized her. Jiang Ersao saw who it was and sneered, "I say, Ninth Sister-in-law, who doesn't know you're working for Gu An'an now, hoping she'll pay you? You're speaking up for her like this, are you planning to become our Third Brother's concubine?"
