Chapter 53 Fulfilling Jiang Cuicui's Fate

Jiang Ersao stormed in, cursing loudly. She pushed aside the villagers blocking her way and saw her daughter clinging to Lin San, grabbing Jiang Cuicui's hair and dragging her backward.

Jiang Cuicui's cries became shrill, and she grabbed the quilt, managing to pull Lin the blacksmith off the bed.

The sudden thud startled everyone in the room.

The crowd was especially horrified when they saw that Lin the blacksmith was shirtless and blood was gushing from his chest.

Jiang Mingyi was the first to react, "He was already injured. If you keep messing with him like this, Jiang Cuicui, do you want to marry a dead man?"

Jiang Cuicui looked panicked. "What do we do now?"

She grabbed Jiang Mingyi's arm, her gaze darting between Jiang Mingyi and Lin the blacksmith.

Jiang Mingyi tilted his head. "If someone takes good care of him, he might survive."

Under normal circumstances, Jiang Cuicui would never have believed this, but now she was so concerned that she immediately reached out to lift Lin the blacksmith.

Jiang Mingyi kindly offered his help.

This action made Gu An'an's eyes widen, and she quickly understood the child's intention.

This is to fulfill Jiang Cuicui's wishes, but isn't it also to spite Jiang Ersao?

Of course, Gu An'an wasn't entirely sure whether she had ulterior motives.

Let's just consider him a helpful and kind child.

Jiang Mingyi was happy to help others, but Jiang Ersao wouldn't have it.

Everyone saw Cui Cui lying on top of Lin the blacksmith. How will she ever get married after this?

She didn't want her daughter to marry such a blacksmith.

Now that brat has actually gone and carried someone to the bed, Jiang Ersao is about to grab her without even thinking.

However, before she could grab her daughter's arm, she was pulled back a step. "Second sister-in-law, I heard that second brother drank too much yesterday and slept outside. Is that true?"

Jiang Ersao felt a lot of resentment when she talked about this.

She didn't know what that scoundrel was thinking. He saw that the widow, Ninth Sister-in-law, had given Gu An'an a tael of silver and started eyeing it. In the end, he failed to steal the chicken and was knocked unconscious outside.

If she hadn't discovered at dawn that this lazybones wasn't home and gone out to look for him, he might have frozen to death in this freezing weather.

Jiang Ersao knew her husband's character all too well. Besides, she had suffered several losses at Gu An'an's hands before, so Jiang Ersao didn't dare to make a scene.

He didn't make a fuss after bringing the person home, but Gu An'an actually had the nerve to ask him questions.

All the frustration and resentment in my heart was stuck in my throat.

Seeing Gu An'an's smiling face made Jiang Ersao even angrier.

Just as she was about to say something, she heard her daughter's voice, "I'll take care of Brother Lin. If he dies, I'll commit suicide for him!"

These words not only made Jiang Ersao's body tremble, but even Gu An'an felt her scalp tingle.

"You brat, are you trying to drive me crazy?" Saying she'd commit suicide for love—isn't she afraid people will misunderstand and think she and this blacksmith have an affair?

Jiang Ersao was always the one to have the final say in her small family. Hearing this, she immediately slapped Jiang Cuicui across the face. "If you dare say another word, don't come home. I'll pretend I never had a daughter like you!"

The slap came so quickly and suddenly that Gu An'an really didn't expect it.

Jiang Cuicui was knocked onto the bed. Looking at her mother, whose chest was trembling with anger, she gritted her teeth and said, "Mother, I've decided that I'll be with Brother Lin for the rest of my life."

It's still confirmed!

Jiang Ersao felt a fire burning in her chest, and without thinking, she was about to go over and beat the brat awake.

But unexpectedly, someone stopped them.

"Cui Cui was confused for a moment, why did you hit the child?"

“She’s not young anymore, it would be good to arrange a marriage for her with Lin San.”

"Yeah, calm down. Xiao Gu, aren't you going to try and persuade your second sister-in-law?"

Gu An'an, who was watching the play, was suddenly called out. She felt that some of the villagers were just looking for trouble.

Even if Jiang Ersao takes the person back today, Jiang Cuicui's reputation is ruined.

No matter when, everyone likes to gossip and chat.

These matters between men and women are something everyone enjoys seeing.

Jiang Cuicui's infatuation today will undoubtedly be the subject of gossip in the village. Even if she wants to find a husband in the future, there will likely be people who dislike Jiang's second sister-in-law who will spread the story of what happened today.

Jiang Ersao was confused, thinking that everything would be fine if she took the person back.

In reality, there is only one possible outcome for this matter.

That would be to fulfill Jiang Cuicui's and Lin the blacksmith's wishes.

However, Gu An'an was a little curious as to why Jiang Cuicui was so infatuated with Lin the blacksmith. Was it because she didn't know this noble lady from her sister-in-law's family well enough, or did she suddenly have the idea to marry such a blacksmith who had a family, a career, and whose parents had died?

Regardless, Jiang Cuicui's unwavering determination made Gu An'an look at her in a different light.

Jiang Ersao was still unwilling, but she couldn't resist the villagers dragging her out.

Gu An'an originally wanted to say something to this girl, but considering her repeated insistence, she realized she didn't have much to say.

But I did hear Jiang Cuicui say, "Thank you."

Gu An'an turned around and saw Xiang Cuicui standing there, her innocent face showing sincerity and calmness.

"You're welcome. I'm not trying to help you."

This kid is so arrogant.

Gu An'an was both amused and exasperated.

However, the girl had thought it through herself, so she didn't have much to say.

Let's hope she gets what she wants.

"I'll go to town in a couple of days and get a pot."

"Um."

"Does Cui Cui really like Lin the blacksmith?"

Upon hearing this, Jiang Mingyi stood there for a moment, and after a commotion, the sky darkened.

As the sun sets, golden light shines on the still-unmelted snow.
