Chapter 167 A Brand New Home

Gu An'an swore that she just didn't want to be so close to people she wasn't very familiar with, like best friends.

Who knew she could dislocate her shoulder from just a fall?

She even felt like she had been framed for a staged accident.

"Look at you, how can you fall flat on your face like that? Your arm must be broken, right? Should I take a look?"

Jiang Mingyi chimed in, "A few days ago, Bao'er's little bunny broke its leg, and you said you'd help take a look. Now it's a three-legged bunny."

Gu An'an: "..." Four-legged rabbits are easy to find, but three-legged ones are extremely rare. What do children know?

Gu Ersao's face turned pale.

Jiang Mingzhu then spoke up, "A few days ago, Doctor Tian gave Mingxu a goat. You said that the goat's legs were not good, so he helped fix it. As a result, we had roasted whole lamb for dinner."

Gu An'an: "..." You dare say you didn't eat? You ate the most, okay?

You shouldn't eat too much mutton, as it can cause internal heat.

Gu Ersao's face paled even more.

Seeing this, Jiang Mingxu quickly said, "Let me do it, let me do it. Mingxu is worth two people, I guarantee it..."

"I'm fine, I'll go now."

Gu Ersao ran faster than a rabbit!

Jiang Mingxu was dumbfounded. He tugged at Gu An'an's sleeve and said with a wronged expression, "Mom, how could Second Aunt do this? Does she think I'm unreliable? But those two old men both said I have great talent."

Gu An'an rubbed her youngest son's head and said, "Silly child, it's her loss if she misses out on you."

This comforting reassured Jiang Mingxu. "Thank you, Mother."

That woman is blind; I'll definitely find a chance to teach her a lesson later!

Before she could even speak, Bao'er asked, "Your Majesty, what brings Second Aunt here?"

Who knows what Gu Ersao is here for, but it's definitely not for anything good.

"Who knows? But we're not afraid of her. We'll deal with whatever comes our way. We're not afraid at all."

If one comes, I'll take it down; if two come, I'll take them both down.

Gu An'an was never someone to be trifled with.

With the uninvited guest, Sister-in-law Gu, gone, the family of five was finally able to go inside and rest.

Once inside, Gu An'an discovered that the room had changed drastically, as if a renovation team had worked there.

The roof beams that used to be visible when you looked up have now been decorated, and a ceiling has been installed above your head.

Although these beautiful patterns are not as exquisite as the coffered ceilings of ancient palaces, they are still quite lovely.

The important thing is that you don't have to worry about dust or spider webs that might be hiding high up and out of reach even with a broom.

Not only the roof, but the windows have also been upgraded. There are two layers in total: the outer layer is made of thick kraft paper, while the inner layer is made of a thin layer of oil paper.

This is somewhat similar to modern vacuum glass, which can block out outside sound.

The purpose of double windows is to keep warm in winter; otherwise, why would you need such thick kraft paper?

From the roof to the window frames, and then to the furniture inside the house.

Looking at the newly renovated house, Gu An'an's expression became somewhat solemn.

"Brother, go and see your room."

Jiang Mingzhu suddenly wanted to know how her father had arranged her brother's room.

The changes at home were obvious, and Jiang Mingyi had some expectations.

However, it's not very obvious on the surface.

Jiang Mingzhu pulled him over, and the boy took a deep breath before pushing open the door to the room.

There haven't been any major changes.

Apart from the addition of a desk and a large bookcase, the room remained almost unchanged.

Jiang Mingzhu hesitated slightly upon seeing this, "Perhaps Father hasn't had time to pack yet."

The girl couldn't decipher the meaning behind her brother's expression, nor could she understand why he hadn't tidied up the room properly. Afraid of upsetting her brother, she chose to offer a more palatable explanation.

Jiang Mingyi glanced at the bookshelf, where a few books were scattered about. He picked one up and flipped through it.

Outside came Jiang Mingxu's loud shouts, "Sister, sister, come quick! You have a room now!"

Jiang Mingzhu's eyes lit up, remembering that her brother hadn't immediately run out.

Jiang Mingyi, however, said gently, "Let's go see your room."

Although I may not live here permanently, having my own new room is something to celebrate.

Jiang Mingzhu's room was quite large; to be precise, it was a small room where the two sisters lived together.

The newly renovated room is very spacious. It is divided into two by a movable screen after you enter. On the left is Bao'er's little corner, with some toys piled up at the head of the bed.

To the right was Jiang Mingzhu's territory, with several more wardrobes, and especially a bow hanging on the wall, which Jiang Mingzhu greatly admired.

Unlike Jiang Mingyi's room, this room was decorated in a style similar to the main house, with a ceiling and thick paper windows.

Thinking of her brother's room, Jiang Mingzhu's smile slowly faded. "Brother, perhaps..."

"Go try out your bow and arrow."

He also noticed the difference in the room, but it didn't matter to him.

Men are not as particular as women; having a place to live is good enough for them, so he wasn't that picky.

Besides, how could he possibly compete with his own sister for a man's affections?

Bao'er also came to see her room. When she saw the toys, her eyes widened. She ran over in a flash, picked up a bunch of toys, and gave them to Jiang Mingyi, saying, "For my brother."

The little girl looked up at him, her big, grape-like eyes blinking with sincerity.

Jiang Mingyi half-squatted down and looked at the toys. "Are they all for my brother?"

Bao'er nodded like a chick pecking at rice, "Give it to my brother, brother, play with it."

"Then Bao'er, you won't have any toys left."
