Facing the wall in repentance?
Gu An'an looked at the little boy standing facing the wall, squatted down to be at Jiang Mingxu's eye level, and asked, "Did you do something wrong?"
The little boy continued fidgeting with his fingers, head down. "I shouldn't have yelled at my mom."
Gu An'an likes children, especially chubby, fair-skinned children.
She was on a debate team during her student days, where she debated with her classmates on the topic of whether human nature is inherently good or evil.
Gu An'an has always been a believer in the inherent goodness of human nature.
However, the environment after birth can cause various problems.
She has always believed that no one is born evil, and that behind every unruly child is an irresponsible parent.
Just like her current environment, these villains who wreaked havoc in the book are now all incredibly adorable children.
They might stand facing the wall in repentance because they felt embarrassed to apologize directly for doing something wrong.
How could you tell this child that human nature is inherently evil?
Carefully gripping Jiang Mingxu's shoulder, Gu An'an turned the little boy around to face him and asked, "So, do you want to apologize to me?"
Should we apologize?
Jiang Mingxu looked at the person squatting in front of him, bit his lip, and then spoke, "If I apologize, will you stop being angry with me and stop holding a grudge?"
When did I hold a grudge against you?
"Yes, that time I threw sheep dung balls into your bowl, and you punished me by making me sleep on the floor for three days!"
Is there?
Gu An'an thought about it carefully; it was something that happened to the original owner of the body.
"That was my fault. I apologize to Mingxu now. Can you forgive me for all the wrong things I did in the past?"
The little boy looked at the hands that were holding him. They were soft, but they had once been so terrifying, like steel plates, and every time they fell, a layer of skin would be torn off him.
"It's all in the past, I've forgotten about it all." Young Master Ming rubbed his eyes. "You women really like to bring up the past, it's so boring."
That's a complete distortion of the truth.
Gu An'an glared at her, "It's my fault, I'm getting old and I always nag."
"No, I'm not." Jiang Mingxu became anxious. "You're not old at all, you're still young."
It's not big at all, okay?
The little boy remembered the woman who had died a few days earlier; she had died in her thirties.
He panicked and hurriedly hugged Gu An'an, saying, "I'm not angry with you, Mother. You can't say you're too old anymore, you can't say that anymore."
The child's emotions came on suddenly, and Gu An'an couldn't figure out what was going on all at once.
However, she still comforted the little boy in her arms, "Alright, alright, let's not talk about it anymore. Mother also apologizes to Xu'er for neglecting you lately, how about this? After we finish working at the shop, Mother will take you to the river to fish and shrimp."
Spring outings are impossible in June, but fishing and shrimp catching are still possible.
Moreover, children can participate in this activity, which is easier than climbing a mountain.
"Okay, then it's settled."
Gu An'an looked at the little boy who had pinky sweared with her, both amused and exasperated. "Alright, alright, it's a promise that it won't change for a hundred years. Okay, shall we go home now?"
"Mom, can you carry me? My leg cramped up while I was facing the wall in repentance."
I'd never believe you.
But looking into those pitiful little eyes, Gu An'an simply couldn't resist them at all.
Who could resist such an adorable child?
Especially my own chubby, adorable little one whom I raised myself.
However, Gu An'an couldn't lift you anymore, saying, "You're too fat."
The little boy, who was originally skinny and bony, has now developed a double chin from overeating.
Gu An'an felt it was necessary to control the child's food intake. "It's not good-looking to get fat. How about we eat less in the future?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Mingxu burst into tears, "Am I that fat?"
There was no scale, but the meat was real.
Gu An'an smiled and took the little boy home.
He didn't even have time to explain Chen Bei's situation to Jiang Mingxu. But just as the problem with that awkward kid was solved, a new problem arose.
Chen Bei's zither playing sounded somewhat unsteady, clearly indicating that he was troubled.
Clearly, Jiang Mingxu stirred up a hornet's nest, getting injured himself and causing Chen Bei to become depressed as well.
She was just about to go over and say something to the boy when Jiang Mingyi came over and asked, "Do you know how to play chess?"
"It's acceptable."
Jiang Mingyi nodded. "Let's play a game of chess."
The teenagers naturally have their own ways of solving problems, so they don't need Gu An'an for the time being.
She didn't know much about Go, so she took Bao'er and Jiang Mingxu back inside to play Gomoku.
Relying on her extensive experience in Gomoku, Gu An'an initially defeated two children so badly they were almost in tears.
But she soon stopped laughing.
Did these two kids cheat?
How did you learn it so quickly?
When Jiang Yong'an came to deliver the watermelon, he saw that Gu An'an had tears in her eyes and was hesitating, saying, "It should be placed here."
"No, he connected them like that."
She quickly moved the chess piece away, then realized something was wrong. "Why are you here?"
"Wow, Daddy is amazing! He actually got a watermelon! Mommy, I want to eat watermelon!"
watermelon.
Gu An'an then noticed the two small watermelons that Jiang Yong'an had placed aside. Sure enough, they were watermelons that had not undergone breeding, selection, or grafting, and were very small.
"Let's soak it in well water; it'll taste even better tomorrow."
Jiang Mingxu didn't make a scene this time. After all, the watermelon had already been delivered, and it wouldn't be appropriate for him to cause trouble again.
“Father is right. Mother, let’s wait until Brother’s birthday to eat watermelon. Consider it Father’s birthday present to Brother.”
