Jiang Mingzhu is a thoughtful person.
She wasn't like Jiang Mingyi, who loudly proclaimed that a gentleman should stay away from the kitchen.
The little girl was very interested in this novel way of eating. When she was cutting the meat, she even cut off the edges of the originally square pieces of meat, and managed to make a hexagon.
The knife work was modified to create some interesting designs, and it looks quite nice.
Gu An'an asked her to prepare three pieces, and told her to prepare the last one herself. As she put the five pieces of fermented pork into the pot to steam, she watched the person happily adding firewood to the stove and asked, "Zhu'er, do you like cooking?"
Jiang Mingzhu looked up at the person in front of the stove, momentarily at a loss for words. "Why did Mother suddenly ask this?"
"fine."
But recalling how the little girl had been happily cutting meat with a knife, Gu An'an wondered if what she had done was right or wrong.
In the novel, Jiang Mingzhu was sent to work as a maid in the master's house in the county town after the original owner fell into the water.
Because she was prettier than the ladies who served her, she was often mistreated by them.
However, it's still better to live in the county town, since you can go to school there.
And she also met the male protagonist who had been kind enough to give her a meal.
Witnessing the male lead's brilliance, Jiang Mingzhu worked hard to improve herself. Later, she went to the capital with her master's family, where she had another series of encounters and made a name for herself as the most talented woman in the capital, a city full of elegant ladies.
Those hands should be holding a brush, playing the zither, or painting; they should be delicate hands stroking silk robes.
But now he's holding a knife, moving it across greasy chunks of meat.
Isn't this a waste of resources?
Gu An'an was momentarily confused.
The fire in the stove was burning brightly, and the girl squatting on the small stool slowly spoke, "I told you, Mother, please don't be angry, okay?"
"Huh? How could that be? We believe in democracy in our family. Just say what you want to say."
Jiang Mingzhu didn't know what democracy meant, but she heard the following sentence: "I just wanted to cook delicious food for my brother Mingxu and Bao'er, and for Mother too. I'm happy to see you all happy and praising me. Will Mother think I'm useless?"
How could that be?
Just a moment ago, Gu An'an was worried that she was wasting Jiang Mingzhu's talent.
Now, hearing the girl's simple wish, she felt that she had done the right thing.
She never intended to cultivate a top female talent in the capital, only to have her talent stolen by the old emperor, like a pear blossom overshadowing a crabapple.
As long as one can be happy, what does it matter if one is an ordinary person?
Gu An'an handed over a jujube, saying, "As long as you live peacefully and happily, that's all that matters."
The dates were so sweet that Jiang Mingzhu felt they were the sweetest dates she had ever eaten.
Her voice became soft and sweet, "Yes, our family just needs to live happily."
...
The next morning, Gu An'an smelled the aroma of meat as soon as she got up.
The aroma of the meat made Gu An'an smile, but the smile quickly disappeared.
Did someone lift the pot lid? It smells so good.
Seeing the children sleeping soundly, Gu An'an quickly got up and went to the kitchen. Before she even entered, she could hear noises coming from inside.
It couldn't possibly be Jiang Mingyi who was cheating.
Thinking of this, Gu An'an muttered to herself, and the entrenching tool appeared in her hand.
When they pushed open the half-closed kitchen door, the two people inside and outside the door looked at each other blankly.
The little tiger, lying on the stove, blinked innocently, quickly stuffed the meat from its paws into its mouth, then ran to Gu An'an's side and rubbed its huge head against Gu An'an's waist.
Can you believe that a tiger that doesn't eat people, cattle, sheep, or chickens actually lifted the pot lid and ate fermented pork in the kitchen?
Gu An'an could hardly believe her eyes.
However, its tail was gently rubbing against her leg, completely ingratiating.
Gu An'an wanted to go to the stove to check the situation, but a corner of her cotton-padded coat was bitten by a small tiger.
This is practically a tiger version of Jiang Mingxu, acting like a scoundrel!
Gu An'an took a deep breath. "You like to eat this?"
The little tiger wagged its tail shyly, expressing its affection.
It was just worried that something had happened at home, so it came to check on things.
Who knew that I would be so enticed by the meat in the pot?
It's not the tiger's fault; the only thing to blame is that the meat was just too delicious, and even the tiger couldn't resist.
Gu An'an really didn't know whether she should be happy or give this little guy a beating. "I won't hit you, just let go and let me go see."
After all, he was a little guy who could understand human speech. When he saw the entrenching tool in Gu An'an's hand, he carefully let go of her mouth.
While Gu An'an was heading towards the stove, the large golden shaded feline took the opportunity to stealthily leave the kitchen.
The pot lid was pushed aside, and a bowl was lifted.
A tiger is a tiger after all; its claws and teeth are sharp, and it tore through the intestines.
Fortunately, only one was damaged.
Gu An'an breathed a sigh of relief. "Where to?"
The little tiger with its ears perked up outside the door immediately shuddered, and the hair on its body stood on end.
Is it too late for it to run now?
"There's still half a bowl of meat left, aren't you going to eat it?"
Eek, there's meat to eat!
The next second, the large feline was already obediently squatting by the stove, waiting to be fed.
Gu An'an simply couldn't handle this little thing.
"It's a bit hot, eat carefully. How much alcohol do you drink? Don't get drunk."
She found it funny when she said it.
Who would have thought that she could communicate with a tiger without any problems?
Life is truly amazing.
The little tiger quickly devoured the small plate of fermented pork, even licking the red dates and fermented lees clean, leaving a few date pits on the side of the plate.
Gu An'an was both amused and exasperated. "You can even spit out date pits? That's pretty impressive."
