Chapter 142 Bao'er's Birthday Gift

It took Bai Qiaoyin a long time to react.

Fresh blood was spreading down his neck.

It was a line of blood that couldn't be thinner.

He didn't want to take his own life; he just wanted to teach her a lesson.

But if it happens again, there won't just be one thin line of blood on your neck.

Bai Qiaoyin knew exactly what kind of person the young master was.

But she was unwilling to accept it. She had done so much, so why could Gu An'an make the young master so cold and ruthless towards her?

She was unwilling to accept it!

Looking back, the crowd in front of Gu An'an's house had already dispersed.

The young master seemed to have been rebuffed, but he didn't seem angry at all.

"Then I'll wait a bit longer, I have plenty of time anyway."

Gu An'an really didn't have a good way to deal with clingy people.

She simply shut the door out, completely unaware that as the door closed, the smile on Lin Zixing's face slowly disappeared, revealing a chilling expression.

"What a heartless woman."

He grumbled under his breath, but he was no longer the carefree and jovial person he usually was.

Gu An'an was completely unaware of this person's two-faced nature. Turning around, she saw several children of different ages standing there. She went over, picked up Bao'er, and helped the little girl rub her eyes. "Did you disturb Bao'er's sleep?"

The little girl was very sleepy, and seemed to never get enough sleep. Right now, she hugged Gu An'an's neck and said, "Your Majesty, let's sleep together."

"Okay, let's sleep together."

After briefly speaking to Jiang Mingyi and the others, Gu An'an went to coax Bao'er to go back to sleep.

Perhaps it was because she had been working too hard lately; she fell asleep while trying to comfort someone, and didn't wake up until almost noon.

On the bed, Bao'er was playing with a red rope. The little girl had wrapped the red rope all over her hand and couldn't untie it. Her watery eyes were filled with tears, and she was afraid that crying would wake the sleeping person. She looked so aggrieved that Gu An'an's heart melted.

Just how capable is Jiang Yong'an to have tricked such a beauty into giving birth to such a lovely daughter for him?

I really don't know how much good fortune our ancestors accumulated.

"Don't rush, take your time."

Upon hearing this, Bao'er slowly realized, "Your Majesty is awake?"

Gu An'an lay on her side, resting her chin on her hand, looking at the little girl. "Do you want to help Bao'er?"

The little child nodded repeatedly, "Thank you, Your Majesty."

As he spoke, he stretched out his hand, which was wrapped with red rope, toward Gu An'an.

The child was born healthy, and Gu An'an has been well-nourished and pampered for the past six months, so she is now truly adorable.

The chubby little hands were wrapped with red rope, resembling sections of tender white bamboo shoots.

Gu An'an adjusted her position, took a pillow and leaned against it, and slowly untied the red string.

This tangled mess is really complicated, no wonder the little girl's eyes were red with anxiety.

When Jiang Mingzhu came in, she saw Gu An'an sitting there, holding Bao'er in her arms, murmuring something with her head down.

The youngest sister, who was always the most sensible and adorable, had a childlike and innocent smile on her face. Jiang Mingzhu thought that it would be wonderful if this moment could stay forever.

"Sister."

Bao'er saw Jiang Mingzhu and happily called out to her.

Jiang Mingzhu walked over and asked, "Why did you get yourself all tangled up like this?"

The little girl was a little embarrassed after being poked in the cheek. "I didn't mean to."

She broke free from Gu An'an's embrace and slid off the bed with practiced ease. "I'm going to find my brother to help me."

They are fast runners, though.

Gu An'an suddenly realized, and just as she was about to speak, she heard Jiang Mingzhu mutter in a low voice, "All she knows is to ask her brother for support."

The child is small, and the devil beats him.

Bao'er is not afraid of Jiang Mingyi or Jiang Mingxu. She used to be most afraid of Gu An'an, but now she is most afraid of Jiang Mingzhu.

This realization left Jiang Mingzhu feeling quite helpless, as if she had done something wrong to this child.

Why didn't you wake me up?

The girl came to her senses and said, "Mother, you've been working too hard lately. You should get some sleep to relax. My brother and I went to Butcher Jia's shop this morning to buy some meat. We'll prepare the ingredients this afternoon and open the shop tomorrow."

Opening for business only sporadically is indeed detrimental to operations.

But something came up at home, so there was nothing I could do.

"Is tomorrow Bao'er's birthday?"

A fifth birthday isn't a big deal, but this child has never celebrated his birthday.

Since we finally have some time, we should give the kids a proper break.

Jiang Mingzhu was momentarily stunned upon hearing this, and was about to reply when she heard a voice coming from the courtyard, "What birthday present does Bao'er want? Your brother will go find it for you?"

"Bao'er doesn't want that, as long as her brother is alright."

The innocent and pure way the adorable little girl said these words left Jiang Mingzhu momentarily stunned.

After a long while, she finally smiled and said, "Bao'er and her brother are the closest."

Gu An'an had also noticed this, but as the eldest brother, Jiang Mingyi always felt responsible for his siblings. Bao'er was the youngest sister, and even in ordinary families, the youngest children were always pampered.

Jiang Mingyi's doting affection for his younger sister is understandable.

"You've been helping me out lately. In a couple of days, I'll find you a partner so you won't have to go anymore. I'll find you a teacher so you can learn the piano properly."

Previously, Manager Lin brought that zither, Jinse, from the capital.

However, Jiang Mingzhu didn't have time to learn to play the zither; she was quite skilled at using the kitchen knife that Gu An'an had given her.

The girl smiled faintly upon hearing this, "I will follow Mother's arrangements."

Gu An'an gently rubbed the girl's cheek. "I'll get up and make lunch."

I slept in late, which is rare for me, but I'm feeling a bit tired.
