When Xu Zhe led his men downstairs, Lin Wanwan was touching her belly and leaning against Qian Qian, half asleep.
"Wanwan, your senior brothers are leaving. Come over and say goodbye."
Lin Wanwan ran over and obediently said goodbye to them.
"Why did Junior Sister run away halfway?" Qin Zijun directly exposed her.
"I'm feeling really down. I need to find a corner to calm down," Lin Wanwan said directly.
Cheng Jinyan couldn't help but reach out and pat her head, "You're amazing, don't be discouraged."
"Wow, it's really not easy to get a compliment from our Senior Brother Cheng. It seems he really dotes on our junior sister."
Lin Wanwan pretended not to notice the sarcasm in her words and said to Cheng Jinyan with a smile, "Senior Brother Cheng is so good, otherwise I would have been crying under the covers in the middle of the night."
"You did very well today. You've only been learning professional terminology for a short time, but you were able to talk about it to this extent. That's already very good."
"Our Professor Xu is so biased; he rarely praised us before."
Xu Zhe pointed at him and said bluntly, "Zhou Ang, don't talk nonsense. Among your group, besides Jin Yan, who has such comprehension? She may be young, but her comprehension is not bad, and she is also very driven. She has only been learning for four months. Besides Jin Yan, who among you can compare?"
Zhou Ang said goodbye to Lin Wanwan with a grin, "I'm leaving, junior sister."
Qian Qian stepped forward to stop them, "Don't leave, stay for dinner tonight, it'll be more lively with more people."
Qin Zijun smiled and declined, "No, Master's wife, we've already cooked dinner at home."
Qian Qian didn't insist. "Jin Yan, stay. Your family is all abroad, and you're not married. Stay for dinner and don't go back."
Cheng Jinyan sighed, "Master's wife, please don't laugh at me during the New Year."
"Who's laughing at you? You're already old and still single. You don't even get a hot meal when you go home. What are you going back for?"
In the end, only Cheng Jinyan was left, and Qian Qian kept him for dinner.
"Even Senior Brother Cheng couldn't refuse Grandma's enthusiasm. We should learn from Grandma's way of speaking."
Xu Zhe tapped her on the head, "You're so disrespectful, or I'll tell your grandma."
Lin Wanwan took his arm in a flattering manner, "I was wrong, Grandpa. I was just talking nonsense. I can't offend Grandma, because she still has to cook delicious food for me."
Tuanzi was making little noises in his crib, and Lin Wanwan immediately went to pick him up. "My good son, you are truly my savior. Go and comfort your great-grandfather."
Xu Zhe's eyes disappeared with laughter as he held the child.
Cheng Jinyan was a little surprised, "You're so young, yet your child is already so big. Didn't Teacher Xu say you only got married recently?"
"Well, it's a long story. Is it easy to understand 'painless motherhood'?"
Cheng Jinyan lowered his head and smiled. "It's easy to understand."
"Grandpa, where are Lu Feng, Gu Bei, and Bai Qi?"
"He's chatting with your dad in the study. Bai Ying's schooling is all settled. Let him go and meet her himself."
"Oh, I see. Does Bai Ying know? Why has Bai Ying disappeared as well?"
"They've all gone to help in the kitchen."
Lin Wanwan slumped onto the sofa, hugged a cushion, and sighed, "Sigh, it's just the two of us lazybones waiting to eat. I wonder if Grandma will get annoyed with me later."
Xu Zhe said with a smile, "There are so many people in the kitchen, no one has time to complain about you."
"That's true. We still have our senior brother to take the blame for, so let's complain about him first."
Cheng Jinyan found her conversation very interesting and couldn't help but chat with her for a few more minutes.
Lin Wanwan was also very talkative, chatting with him about all sorts of things.
Cheng Jinyan felt that he hadn't had enough fun. He felt that chatting with her was very comfortable. She wouldn't refute him, but would just listen to him very carefully and then give him her own opinions after he affirmed her.
Cheng Jinyan was gentle and refined, without any of the seriousness or rigidity of a superior. He spoke wittily and humorously, and was very knowledgeable. Lin Wanwan became more and more enthusiastic as she chatted with him.
"Didn't you say you'd teach me French, Senior Cheng? When are you going to start?"
Cheng Jinyan smiled and said, "Anytime. I'll go back and find you a few books. Leave me your contact information."
Lin Wanwan seized the opportunity and wrote down his phone number and address.
"Thank you, Senior Brother Cheng."
"Aren't you tired of learning so much?"
"A little, but while I'm still energetic, I want to learn more, especially since I'm very interested in it. I'll just start learning and give up if I can't learn it."
Cheng Jinyan smiled, took a sip of tea, and ate a pastry.
"Are you hungry? I'll go see when dinner is served."
As soon as Lin Wanwan walked over, she saw Lu Feng and the others come out.
She went up to Lu Feng and hugged him affectionately, saying, "I'm hungry, I want to eat something."
Lu Feng hugged her and kissed the top of her head. Noticing the gazes coming from the living room, Lu Feng turned his head and met Cheng Jinyan's eyes.
Cheng Jinyan wasn't embarrassed; he nodded at him and continued drinking his tea.
Lin Wanwan pulled Lu Feng to the kitchen to find something to eat, "Grandma, I'm not going to become a big fat girl, am I?!"
Lin Wanwan said worriedly, while pinching her stomach as she ate the meat.
"Eat smaller, more frequent meals. Why gain weight? You should get out more often these days and stop staying cooped up at home."
"But I'm sleepy, Grandma."
Qian Qian glanced at her sideways, "You can't be sleepy all the time. When you're memorizing vocabulary and practicing your pronunciation, stand up and walk around a bit."
Lin Wanwan nodded obediently.
While they were having dinner, Lin Wanwan couldn't eat anymore, so she sat next to Tuanzi and fed him.
"Don't feed him, just put food on his plate, he'll eat by himself."
"Oh, you can already feed yourself, my good son, I didn't even know."
Lin Wanwan sighed, "Sigh, Mom missed several months of your growth."
Song Lanzhi was amused by her, "What do you mean by several months? It's only a little over two months, don't exaggerate like that."
