Chapter 116 A False Alarm 2

When Cheng Jinyan saw that she remembered, he immediately pressed her down.

"Don't move. The child is fine, and you are fine too. The doctor said you are a little malnourished and have low blood sugar."

Lin Wanwan lay there for a moment, then turned to look at him and said, "Malnutrition? Doctor, are you sure you didn't make a mistake? I think I've gained weight, and I'm still malnourished?"

Cheng Jinyan smiled and said, "The doctor said that malnutrition can be caused by many factors. The most important thing for you right now is low blood sugar. Have you not been eating properly? I asked your classmate and he said you've been hiding in the flower bed reading. Didn't you get a certificate? Why aren't you going back to your dorm to rest?"

"Senior brother, which question should I answer first? You're asking so many at once."

"Don't try to fool me, just answer them one by one."

“I was upset in the morning and ate little. I was on the playground because my counselor was making things difficult for me. He wouldn’t let me go back to the dormitory to rest and made me stay on the playground even if I wasn’t in military training. So I could only huddle by the flower bed to read. He said he would come to check at any time, so even if I was hungry, I didn’t dare to run away.”

Lin Wanwan became more and more aggrieved as she spoke. She had only intended to put on a show, but she hadn't expected to end up in the hospital. Fortunately, the child was alright.

Cheng Jinyan saw that her eyes were red and sighed, "You were bullied, why didn't you call me?"

“When you brought me to school, some people were gossiping about me in front of him. I don’t know if he’s jealous of the rich or what. Then the dean of students told him that I couldn’t participate in military training because I’m pregnant. He got angry and scolded me. I couldn’t stand that, so I talked back.”

Lin Wanwan sniffed and continued, "How could I dare to ask you for help? I thought it would be fine to just stay on the playground and read a book. I forgot to bring food to Humen today, who knew I would faint? Luckily, the child is alright."

Seeing her cry, Cheng Jinyan didn't know what to do. He had never comforted a girl before, so he reached out and patted her back, saying, "It's okay, we're here for you."

Lin Wanwan sobbed softly for a while, then looked at him and asked, "Why are you here?"

“Your classmate found my contact information in your bag and called my office directly. Your counselor is outside the door right now, and I stopped them from coming in.”

"Don't tell my mom, she'll be worried sick. My mother-in-law is already nervous, and I'm afraid her arrival will make me nervous too."

"You don't need to tell me that. Your counselor belatedly followed you to the hospital, probably too scared to call your family. I'll handle this. You just need to rest."

"I don't need an IV anymore, right, senior? I'm hungry, I want to eat something."

Seeing her pitiful appearance, Cheng Jinyan felt a little sad. He felt inexplicably that his emotions would become uncontrollable whenever he was with her.

"You take a nap first, I'll go buy you something to eat."

Cheng Jinyan watched her until she fell asleep before turning to leave. When he saw Li Qing anxiously in the corridor, Cheng Jinyan didn't give her a friendly look.

When Li Qing saw him come out, she immediately walked over and asked, "How is Lin?"

"You should ask Teacher Li that. What do you want from her?"

"Jinyan, is Junior Sister alright?" Qi Mu rushed over anxiously.

Why are you here?

"Oh, why are you bothering with this? I heard from a teacher in the department that a pregnant freshman fainted on the playground. Apparently, the counselor wouldn't let her go back to the dormitory to rest and she had to stay on the playground to practice with him."

"The child is missing, still asleep, and has low blood sugar."

"Then why didn't you call me? You scared me to death, does the teacher know?"

"Don't say anything yet, or you might scare someone into something bad."

Qi Mu then noticed Li Qing beside him and asked Cheng Jinyan with a puzzled look, "Who is this?"

"This is the counselor who wouldn't let Wanwan go back to her dorm to rest."

Li Qing's face turned pale. Everyone at school knew about it. What should he do?

"Teacher Qi, sir, are you sure you've misunderstood? Did Lin say that? I didn't?"

"You didn't? Then who wouldn't let her go back to the dorm and made her practice on the playground? Who said they were going to check?"

Cheng Jinyan questioned him with a dark face, which frightened Li Qing so much that his face turned even paler and his body went weak.

"I...I didn't know she would do this."

"What would have happened? If her classmate hadn't caught her, and she had fallen, have you considered the consequences?"

Cheng Jinyan was really angry. When he received the call that Lin Wanwan had fainted at school, he immediately ordered her to be sent to the military hospital. His hands were shaking after he hung up the phone.

He was genuinely afraid that something would happen to Lin Wanwan, and that Lin Wanwan would break down because of something happening to the child.

Seeing his face growing darker, Qi Mu quickly pulled him back, "Don't be impulsive, I'll handle this."

Cheng Jinyan shook him off, "I'll go buy her some food."

Cheng Jinyan, his face dark, had just reached the hospital entrance when he saw Xu Zhe and Qian Qian rushing towards him. "Teacher, teacher's wife, what brings you here?"

"Jinyan? What are you doing here? Something happened to Wanwan. Your teacher's wife's student called home and said that Wanwan had fainted, so we rushed over."

Qian Qian hurriedly tried to go inside, "I wonder if he got hurt?"

Cheng Jinyan quickly pulled them back, "Teacher, teacher's wife, don't worry, Wanwan is fine. She just woke up. She just had low blood sugar and didn't fall."

Xu Zhe and Qian Qian both breathed a sigh of relief. "What are you doing here?"

Cheng Jinyan briefly explained, "You two didn't call her family, did you? She specifically told me not to tell her family when she woke up."

"Your teacher's wife and I came out as soon as we got the call, and we forgot to tell her family."

Qian Qian looked at him and asked, "Where are you going?"

"She said she was hungry and wanted to eat something, so I was just about to go buy some."

"Don't go, don't go. I'll call home and ask Auntie to sit down. I'll go see her first, then I'll go find Li Li and make a call while I'm at it."

Qi Mu was startled when Xu Zhe arrived. "Your information network is too good! Why did you come here too?"

Even Li Qing stood up and called out, "Dean Xu, you, you, what brings you here?"

Xu Zhe saw his face turn ashen. "I handed this person over to you, and this is how you take care of him? I even had Old Li specifically ask you for help. What did you do? Get out of here right now and stop hanging around in front of me. It's infuriating to look at you."

Cheng Jinyan stood beside him without saying a word. He also wanted to lose his temper. Qi Mu saw this and quickly stepped forward to comfort him, "Junior Sister is alright. Don't get too angry. Go inside first. She'll probably wake up soon. We didn't dare to go in just now because we were afraid of disturbing her rest."

Li Qing's face was pale, and he swayed as he leaned against the wall, too afraid to speak.

Xu Zhe became even angrier at his behavior and pushed open the door to go inside.

Cheng Jinyan followed him inside and saw that the IV drip was almost finished, so he prepared to go out and call the nurse.
