"That's true. How is your mother's health?"
“He’s in Hong Kong with my grandfather, taking care of his health. I’ll visit you and your aunt when she comes back.”
Lin Jianbang waved his hand, "Your mother is not in good health, don't make things difficult for her. Your aunt and I will take Wanwan to see her. She used to dote on Wanwan so much, we should go and see her."
Mu Lin chatted with Lin Jianbang for a while, and Lin Jianbang couldn't stop praising him.
"Uncle Lin, you're exaggerating. I don't understand anything about this."
"Don't be modest, Grandpa is right, it really will be your world from now on."
"Uncle Lin, what are you talking about?" Cheng Jinyan placed a plate of fruit in front of Lin Jianbang. "I brought some cherries. Uncle, try some. Wanwan, have some too. I asked Grandma, and she said they're good for your health."
Lin Wanwan looked at him with a smile, "Thank you, brother."
Lin Jianbang waved his hand at him, "You've come at the right time. Take them all away. I finally got a day off, but they made it feel like I was working overtime and having meetings at home. You can take them away."
Cheng Jinyan chuckled and said, "Alright, let's go to the study. I'll check your homework." He then turned to Mu Lin and asked, "Are you in the law school? Want to come along?"
When Mu Lin met this legendary senior for the first time, she said, "Yes, thank you, senior."
"Can I just watch from the sidelines? There are too many people in the living room, and my head is spinning."
Cheng Jinyan smiled and didn't refuse. He didn't care who came with him, as long as Lin Wanwan went with him.
"Class is about to start, are you feeling nervous?" Cheng Jinyan asked the person sitting next to him.
"No, but I'm still a little worried that being pregnant might affect my learning speed."
Cheng Jinyan looked at her serious expression with furrowed brows, yet she was making playful remarks, which was simply too cute. He chuckled in a deep voice, "If it's too difficult, don't push yourself. I see your study schedule is quite full. Don't rush, take it one step at a time."
Lin Wanwan realized what was happening and continued speaking to him in German, while Mu Lin and Qin Mu, who were standing next to her, were both taken aback.
Qin Mu couldn't help but exclaim in shock, "This is how you check homework? What is this? German? When did you start studying so hard? And you even learned German?"
Lin Wanwan gave her a look that said, "You're so ignorant." She replied, "There's a wealth of knowledge in books. I love reading. No way."
Ignoring him, she continued talking to Cheng Jinyan, asking about the international economic situation and some current domestic economic policies.
The two chatted for almost forty minutes, with Lin Wanwan occasionally pausing to take notes.
Qian Qian knocked on the door, "Stop talking, let's eat first and then talk."
Cheng Jinyan stood up and said, "Understood, Master's wife, we'll go down right away."
After everyone left, Cheng Jinyan sat back down and spoke to Lin Wanwan, "You've made great progress. It seems you've put in a lot of effort during military training. You speak the professional terms so fluently."
"That's right, I can't let you guys keep putting me down, I have to make some progress."
Cheng Jinyan couldn't resist patting her on the head. "Not bad, not bad. What kind of reward do you want?"
Lin Wanwan got excited when she heard about the reward. She looked at him pitifully with her palms up and said, "Notes, notes! Grandpa said your notes are a treasure trove. I want to see them too!"
Seeing that Cheng Jinyan wouldn't budge, Lin Wanwan immediately raised her hand and swore, "I promise I'll keep it safe, okay?"
Seeing that he was still silent and writing with his head down, Lin Wanwan gritted her teeth and said, "How can you be such a brother? You promised to give me a reward but now you don't agree. I'm going to make a scene!"
Cheng Jinyan stopped writing and looked up at her. Lin Wanwan immediately put on a flattering expression, "Just take a look. I promise to keep it safe and not lend it to anyone."
"I'll deliver it to your school next time."
Lin Wanwan's eyes lit up even more, and she pressed him for an answer, "When? Monday? Tomorrow afternoon? Or Tuesday?"
Cheng Jinyan chuckled and rubbed his forehead. "Stop messing around. You're really like a parrot, chattering away. I have to go back and look for it. Besides, I have more than one notebook. Are you sure you want to look?"
Lin Wanwan nodded quickly, afraid that he would change his mind, "I'm sure, I'm really curious."
"I'll show you one first; I need to keep it a secret for a while."
Lin Wanwan immediately frowned and scolded him, "Liar!!"
Cheng Jinyan rubbed her head and went to eat. After eating, Charlie continued his homework.
Lin Wanwan bared her teeth at him, then ran away.
Cheng Jinyan wasn't angry. He turned his head and spoke to Mu Lin, "Bored?"
"It's not boring at all, it's quite inspiring. I didn't even know she was so amazing."
Qin Mu was also shocked. "When did she learn that? I really had no idea."
Cheng Jinyan smiled and said, "My goal is very high. I want to join the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. My teacher taught me German. When we came to visit for the New Year, he talked to us and we were a little discouraged. I don't know many professional terms, so I've been working even harder since then."
"Ministry of Foreign Affairs?" Qin Mu was shocked again.
Cheng Jinyan smiled and said, "It seems you haven't seen each other for quite a while. She has been working very hard."
He turned his head and chatted with Mu Lin for a couple more minutes. When he got to the dining room, he heard Lin Wanwan complaining to Xu Zhe.
"Grandpa, my senior brother lied to me and bullied me."
"What? You're already thanking the heavens if you, being a little devil, don't bully your senior brother for a day. How could he dare to bully you?"
Cheng Jinyan smiled and stepped forward, "The eyes of the masses are indeed discerning; I wouldn't dare to bully you."
Seeing that no one was helping her, Lin Wanwan sat down next to Qian Qian and acted coquettishly, "Grandma, they don't love me anymore."
"It's okay, Grandma loves you."
Lin Wanwan hugged her and rocked her back and forth, acting coquettishly, "Grandma is the best, she loves me the most."
