Lin Wanwan was woken up by hunger in the middle of the night. She had no appetite in the evening and drank some porridge, but now she was woken up by hunger.
Pulling back the curtains, I discovered that, apart from Zhou Mei and Wen Nuan, the other three beds were all emitting faint lights.
Lin Wanwan was both amused and exasperated, and asked softly, "What are you three doing? Why aren't you asleep so late?"
The three of them were startled. Zheng Yan asked in a low voice, "Why did you get up? Are you feeling unwell?"
After saying that, he immediately got out of bed to check on Lin Wanwan.
Lin Wanwan turned on the flashlight and pulled her hand to get out of bed.
"Why are you still reading? I woke up hungry and I want to have some snacks."
Lin Wanwan took out her own snack box from the cabinet.
"Are you hungry? Do you want something to eat? I want an apple, do you want some?"
Zhang Lin immediately said, "Eat, I'll go wash up, Miss, please have a seat."
Lin Wanwan was amused by her, "Why are you being so obsequious?"
"Isn't it true that you're obligated to do something for someone who feeds you? I'll put in a little work."
"Keep your voice down, don't wake people up," Zheng Yan reminded her.
Zhou Chuying quietly took a box of peach shortbread from the cabinet and handed it to Lin Wanwan, "I have some peach shortbread here, Wanwan, would you like some?"
"I'm so hungry, I can't sleep."
Lin Wanwan felt a little better after eating a piece of peach shortbread.
Lin Wanwan glanced at the three people in front of her and whispered, "Let's go to the hot water room outside to talk, or we'll wake them up."
The group went to the boiler room, each taking an apple. The boiler room was dimly lit.
"What are you three doing?" Lin Wanwan asked bluntly.
The three looked at each other, and Zheng Yan spoke up, "Reading a book, didn't we say we were going to learn English?"
"Have you forgotten my lesson? Studying is important, but your health is even more important. It's already 3 a.m., why are you still reading?"
Zhang Lin said while munching on an apple, "Our foundation isn't as good as yours, so of course we have to work hard to make up for it."
Zhou Chuying nodded in agreement, "That's right, you're younger than all of us and so outstanding, we can't fall behind, our grades aren't bad either."
"You guys can't stay up until 3 a.m., can you? If you don't sleep now, what will you do for class tomorrow?" Lin Wanwan said with disapproval.
Zheng Yan laughed and said, "Since our foundation is weak, we can only spend more time memorizing words."
"Are you efficient? Is this how you do things? Don't end up not learning well here, and then falling asleep in your major courses and not learning well either."
Zhang Lin bit her lip and asked, "Our efficiency is indeed not high. Do you have any better ideas?"
Lin Wanwan glanced at the time. "Go to sleep now, we'll talk again tomorrow when we wake up."
Zhou Chuying pulled her back, "Tell me what you have to say first, then we'll go to sleep."
Lin Wanwan looked helpless. "My dear Sister Zhou, I'm pregnant. It's almost four o'clock now, and I need to get some sleep."
The group exchanged glances before releasing her. "You guys should go to sleep too. If you don't go to sleep, even if I have a solution, I won't tell you."
The next day, after morning self-study, several people grabbed Lin Wanwan and wouldn't let her leave.
Zhang Lin said impatiently, "We agreed yesterday, what good ideas do you have? Tell me quickly, don't keep me in suspense."
Lin Wanwan looked at her speechlessly, "Miss, can't you let me have something to eat?"
After finishing her meal, Lin Wanwan found a bench to sit down.
"If you're not efficient at memorizing vocabulary in the middle of the night, then switch to the morning. Go to bed early and get up early, run a couple of laps around the track, and then memorize vocabulary when your mind is clear."
"Also, you guys are too impatient, just like me. My senior brother is right. Learning has to be done little by little. The more you rush, the worse it will be."
Lin Wanwan sighed and said, "Have you set any goals? May Day is coming soon, and there are still two months until summer vacation. You can break down your big goals into smaller ones, and then break down those smaller goals into smaller tasks."
"You're all doing so well in your studies, I don't need to say much, right? What's the point of you aimlessly memorizing vocabulary? Practicing spoken English means speaking it out! What's the point of hiding under the covers at night to memorize vocabulary?"
Zhang Lin and the other two exchanged glances. Zheng Yan nodded and said, "I think I understand. We'll redo the learning task list and show it to you later."
"Actually, everyone's foundation is different. You don't need to learn together. When you practice speaking, you can communicate with each other to find out where you are lacking."
Zhang Lin smiled and said, "You're not very old, but you speak quite eloquently. You have great potential to be a teacher!"
Lin Wanwan immediately raised her hand in a gesture of refusal, "Hey, my dream isn't to be a teacher, don't try to mess with me."
"Then tell me, what is your ideal?" The four of them walked slowly back to the dormitory hand in hand.
"Anyway, I'm not going to be a teacher."
"What's going on with Wen Nuan and Zhou Mei? They're often not in the dorm, and it seems like they're not coming back to stay tonight either," Zheng Yan asked, somewhat puzzled.
Zhang Lin thought for a moment and said, "I heard that Zhou Mei seems to have rented a place outside. Did Wen Nuan go there with her?"
Zhou Mei hesitated for a moment, then said, "But I heard that Zhou Mei has a boyfriend. Why is Wen Nuan going with her?"
Lin Wanwan asked in surprise, "When did she get a boyfriend?"
Zhang Lin stepped forward and patted her head, saying earnestly, "Little sister, don't just study, chat with us about gossip too, don't become stupid from studying."
Lin Wanwan slapped her hand away and said fiercely, "Don't pat my head, you're the stupid one!! You're all stupid!!"
The other three kept laughing, but Lin Wanwan ignored them and walked towards the teaching building.
"Where are you going? Aren't you going back to your dorm?" Zheng Yan asked her with a smile.
"Go listen in," Lin Wanwan waved to the group without turning her head.
After auditing the psychology class, Lin Wanwan went straight to the cafeteria.
I'm planning to go back to my dorm after dinner and study French for a while.
"Hey, why are you all alone today? Are you being ostracized?"
Hearing Zhou Mei's sarcastic voice, Lin Wanwan didn't even raise her head.
She really didn't want to waste her breath arguing with Zhou Mei; she didn't have that much time to try and change her values.
Seeing that Lin Wanwan ignored her, Zhou Mei was a little angry. She then took the arm of the person next to her and said smugly, "Let me introduce you, this is my boyfriend."
Lin Wanwan didn't look up and said directly, "Congratulations. Don't invite me to your wedding, we're not that close."
"Wanwan!"
Lin Wanwan turned around and saw Mu Lin. She smiled and waved to him.
Zhou Mei sneered, "Lin Wanwan, don't you pride yourself on being high and mighty? You're no different, just stringing men along and refusing to let go."
Lin Wanwan glanced at her lightly and said, "Don't think everything is dirty. I really don't have that much time to waste on you and trying to save your values. Can't you see I'm avoiding you? Don't treat me like an enemy. You go your way, and I'll go mine."
Zhou Mei blushed with anger and was speechless for a moment. She tugged at the clothes of the person next to her.
“Miss, you seem to be very rude. My girlfriend came over to greet you, but you didn’t seem to even look at her the whole time.”
Lin Wanwan was so angry she laughed, and then turned to look at the man next to Zhou Mei.
The man straightened his clothes and looked down at her with a condescending expression.
