Chapter 137 Back in the Hospital

Jiang Cheng listened to her explain the situation in a few words. Regardless of whether what she said was true or not, since this matter involved students from other classes, he could not let it go so easily.

Jiang Cheng stared at Wang Rongrong seriously and said, "This student, which class are you in, and what's your name?"

Wang Rongrong, who was still crying and complaining, was now stunned and didn't know how to explain.

"Teacher Jiang, I know. I know which class she's in and where she lives. Let's take Wanwan to the hospital first."

Song Lanzhi was startled when she received Mu Lin's call and quickly had someone drive her to the school.

After being taken to the hospital for a check-up, the doctor said that the person was frightened by the sudden collision and needed to rest for a few days. He advised the person to be more careful in the future.

Jiang Cheng followed along the whole way, and later learned about the situation from Lin Wanwan and Mu Lin.

Jiang Cheng then contacted Wang Rongrong's counselor and notified the academic affairs office.

Lin Wanwan was in the hospital and was unaware that Wang Rongrong had been disciplined.

All she knew was that Li Li had detained her at the hospital. "Aunt Li, please let me go back to school. I'm fine now."

Li Li adjusted her IV drip. "Don't be stubborn. You won't let me tell the teacher, and you don't want to be hospitalized. What do you want to do? You look fine now, but you were bleeding when you came in. You should stay for a couple of days so I can observe your condition. If everything is alright, you can go back to school."

Lin Wanwan had no choice; she had just been bumped and almost fell, and was genuinely frightened.

When they arrived at the hospital, Li Li said that they did have a slight threatened miscarriage, but it wasn't serious, so they were admitted to the hospital for observation for two days.

Lin Wanwan pleaded with her, "Aunt Li, could you please call my roommate and ask her to bring me some books?"

"No, you should rest well these two days. It's okay to miss a couple of days."

"How boring, Aunt Li."

Li Li said with a stern face, "If you're bored, go to sleep. Don't overwork yourself. I didn't ask you anything when your mother-in-law was here. Now tell me, how come you've lost so much weight?"

Lin Wanwan touched her nose and didn't say anything, just smiled at her.

“You’re five months pregnant and you’ve lost weight. How will you manage to give birth? If you’re still this thin at your next prenatal checkup, I’ll tell the teacher to make you drop out of school and go home.”

Lin Wanwan immediately tried to appease her, "Aunt Li, I was wrong. I was under too much pressure recently, afraid that I would fall behind in my studies because of my pregnancy. I'm adjusting now. I was really wrong."

Li Li poked her forehead and continued to scold her, "Begging for mercy won't work. If I see you like this again at the next prenatal checkup, I won't show you any mercy."

Only after Lin Wanwan repeatedly assured her did Li Li let her go.

After spending two days in the hospital, Li Li examined her again. Only after confirming that both the adult and child were healthy was she allowed to return to school.

Before leaving, I repeatedly told her to rest more and not to overwork herself.

Lin Wanwan shrank back when she saw the warning look in her eyes, and nodded quickly.

Sitting in the car, Song Lanzhi held her hand and said, "Wanwan, you've really lost weight. You have to eat well. If the cafeteria food isn't good, just call home and Mom will bring you some."

"Mom, don't worry, I eat a lot. I even get up to eat a couple of bites if I get hungry in the middle of the night."

"Okay, I'll have your Uncle Li pick you up during the May Day holiday."

“Okay, by the way, Mom, Zheng Yan’s husband and child are coming to Beijing. It’s not really appropriate for them to stay at our house. I was thinking of tidying up my yard and letting them stay there for a while.”

Song Lanzhi thought for a moment and said, "Forget about your courtyard. Lu Feng has a small courtyard with one entrance, not far from our house. I'll have someone tidy it up, and his family can fit in."

"Thank you, Mom. You're so kind."

Song Lanzhi patted her, "Anyway, it's just sitting empty. Don't tell anyone about your yard easily; it's a valuable place."

"I didn't want to either. It was a gift from you, and I cherish it. But it's not good for them to stay at our house. Yanyan usually takes good care of me, and since her family is coming, I naturally have to help them out."

"Mom knows, don't worry, Mom has made arrangements for you. Just take good care of yourself, it hurts me to see you so thin."

Song Lanzhi held her hand and kept giving her instructions, and Lin Wanwan listened obediently.

Lin Wanwan, with things in both hands, bent down and said to Song Lanzhi, "I know, Mom. I'll be on holiday in a few days. You can scold me again after the holiday."

Song Lanzhi smiled and told her to go back to her dormitory.

There were no classes today, so everyone in the dorm was there, even Zhou Mei.

As she entered, Zhou Mei rolled her eyes. "If she's so precious, why not take a break from school and stay home to recuperate? What's the point of going to university?"

"If you can't speak properly, then shut up. Don't keep talking all day long, as if you're afraid others won't know you have a foul mouth?"

Zheng Yan helped her carry her things in, and Zhou Mei said sarcastically, "This lackey you raised is quite diligent."

"Warmth is your lackey? We're not, we're best friends."

After finishing her sentence, Lin Wanwan gave Wen Nuan a sarcastic look.

Wen Nuan stood next to Zhou Mei, her face pale, while Zhou Mei glared at her fiercely.

Lin Wanwan rolled her eyes at her and left with Zheng Yan.

Zheng Yan said in a low voice, "Why are you arguing with her? She's always been rude."

"She's trying to sow discord between us, how can I tolerate that?"

Zheng Yan pulled Lin Wanwan aside and whispered, "Do you know Zhou Mei's boyfriend?"

"Yes, we played together when we were kids. Beijing is a very big city, but it's also very small. It's not unusual for us to know each other."

“She goes around telling people that you’re just putting on airs, that you only got rich because you married your current husband, that you’re a second-time bride and a stepmother.”

Lin Wanwan said frankly, "In a way, what she said is not wrong. My family is not as rich as Lu Feng's family."

"Never mind her. Have you spoken to your husband on the phone? When are you coming to Beijing?"

"I called the day before yesterday. I have to go out and find a place to stay during the May Day holiday, otherwise they won't have anywhere to stay when they come."

Lin Wanwan patted her shoulder and said, "Don't worry about where you're staying."

Zheng Yan slapped her hand away, interrupting her, "Stop, I'm not staying at your house. What would it look like if our whole family stayed at your house?"

"Let me finish. Lu Feng has a courtyard there. You can stay there for now. I've already asked my mother-in-law to find someone to clean it up."

Zheng Yan opened her mouth, remained silent for a moment, and then asked, "Didn't your mother-in-law say anything?"

“It was my mother-in-law who suggested it. She said the house was empty anyway, so if you guys stayed there, you could help take care of it.”

Zheng Yan didn't know what to say, and just looked at her hesitantly.

Lin Wanwan felt uneasy under her gaze and shrank back. "What are you doing? Don't love me, it won't work out."

Zheng Yan chuckled at her words, "What nonsense are you talking about? I love my husband very much."

"Ugh, that's so cheesy," Zhang Lin shuddered and rubbed her arms.

Turning to Zhou Chuying, he asked, "What are your plans for the May Day holiday?"

"Let's explore the city properly. What's fun to do in Beijing?"

Zhang Lin looked at her excitedly, "Then come home with me. Yan Yan can go to her house, and you can come to mine. We can also arrange a time to go out and play together."

“I’m not going to Wanwan’s house for the May Day holiday. My husband will bring the kids to visit me.”

"Okay then, let's make an appointment later."

Zhang Lin and Zhou Chuying got more and more excited as they chatted, talking about where to go and what to eat.
