Chapter 139 Love is Always a Feeling of Debt

Lin Wanwan's eyes lit up when Lu Feng returned.

It had been half a month since they last saw each other. Last weekend, Lu Feng had something to do at school and couldn't go home.

“Husband~” Lin Wanwan reached out to him.

Lu Feng smiled, stepped forward, took her hand, sat down next to her, and gave her a light hug.

"How have you been feeling lately? Have you been very tired?" Lu Feng asked, frowning as he put his arm around her. "Why have you lost so much weight?"

Song Lanzhi, with a lingering fear on her face, continued, "You're one to talk! Last time Mu Lin called, she said she was almost hit by someone. When she was taken to the hospital, Li Li said she had a threatened miscarriage. She was terrified."

Lin Wanwan clearly felt Lu Feng's hand tremble slightly. He looked down at her, and Lin Wanwan guiltily touched her nose.

"It's not Mu Lin's fault. That girl is his pursuer. We met in the cafeteria. He was walking me back to my dorm when that girl saw us and bumped into me. I didn't even have time to react. But it's okay now, don't worry."

Lin Wanwan leaned against Lu Feng ingratiatingly, "It's really alright now. That girl was advised to drop out of school and received a major demerit."

"Why didn't you tell me anything?" Lu Feng said reproachfully.

“I originally wanted to tell you, but during those two days in the hospital, Aunt Li kept a close eye on me and wouldn’t let me do anything except eat and take walks. I was only allowed to rest in bed. By the time I was discharged, it would almost be my vacation time, so I might as well tell you in person.”

Lu Feng remained silent with a frown, which He Yumei found amusing.

Lin Xiaohai, who had just entered the room, saw his stern face and said speechlessly, "Alright, alright, my sister doesn't want you to worry. She doesn't even tell my parents because she's afraid the family will worry. Why are you making such a face? That's enough. Do you need my sister to coax you?"

He Yumei glanced at Lin Xiaohai, signaling him to shut up.

Lin Xiaohai pretended not to see it. "You always have such a long face. If my sister didn't care about you, she would come to you over every little thing. How can you concentrate on your studies and career? Do you think my sister is some kind of idle person? She's studying even while pregnant. Can you please put your little thoughts and emotions behind you? If my sister didn't care about you, she would have dumped you after getting into university. She's young and beautiful, and she could have married anyone else. Why does she have to work so hard to go to university while pregnant with your child? Don't take my kindness for granted. Who are you trying to impress with that long face? When you come into the room, all my eyes are on you. What more do you want?"

Lin Xiaohai rattled off a long speech, explaining that he had refrained from swearing during their last argument.

“I see she’s pregnant and I don’t want her to work hard at all. I’m studying hard myself so she won’t have to worry. But you, you come in with a long face. Who in this family owes you anything?”

He Yumei wanted to strangle the brat, and winked at Lin Wanwan, "You three go to the kitchen and see if the food is ready. Can you help him out? Wanwan, the kid said last time that he wanted to eat your cooking. Go to the kitchen and make him something perfunctory."

Lin Wanwan stood up and took Lin Xiaohai's arm. "Let's go, help me to the kitchen."

Lin Xiaohai glared at Lu Feng, then reluctantly led his sister out.

Lin Xiaohai looked awkward as he stepped out of the main house.

Bai Ying and Zheng Yan went straight into the kitchen to help, while Lin Wanwan pulled him to sit on the sofa in the dining room.

"Feeling sorry for me?" Lin Wanwan smiled broadly. She had a gentle family, and everyone loved her. She was overjoyed.

"Sis, you won't be mad at me, will you? Was I meddling in other people's business?"

"Why should I blame you? You and Mom and Dad love me so much, I'm so happy. You really seem to have grown up, and you even know how to protect your sister now."

Lin Xiaohai blushed, scratched his head, and said a little embarrassedly, "I just feel sorry for you. You're pregnant and it's so hard for you. You still have to study. I saw it when I came back. You've lost weight, thinner than ever before. He doesn't understand you. He even has a stern face and makes you coax him. Is he even a man?"

As Lin Xiaohai spoke, his eyes reddened. "I was worried about you getting pregnant and also about me. I've been studying hard all this time, afraid that you would worry about me. What did he do? Did you two have a fight last time? How come you're so easy to coax? He made you feel better in just a few words. How can you be so pathetic?"

Lin Wanwan was deeply moved, and found his red eyes incredibly cute.

"Sigh, love blinds us."

"Where's the fierceness with which you scolded me, the ruthlessness with which you threatened me? Why should you wrong yourself to coax him? If you need to lose your temper, then lose it. If he really loves you, he won't leave you just because you lost your temper twice."

Lin Wanwan smiled and said, "I know," she said, linking her arm with his and leaning on his shoulder. "You've grown up and become my support."

“But your brother-in-law didn’t mean it that way. He just felt indebted to me because I work so hard and he’s never there for me when I get into trouble. He felt helpless and guilty, but he just didn’t know how to express it.”

"Why are you defending him?" Lin Xiaohai muttered under his breath.

"Just tell me if what I said is right or wrong."

Lin Xiaohai retorted, "That's all in your imagination. Who knows what he's really thinking? He came back with a long face. You don't owe him anything."

"Everyone has a different personality. Just because someone doesn't say it doesn't mean they don't worry or love you. On the other hand, what they say all the time doesn't necessarily mean they really worry or love you. I can tell the difference."

Lin Xiaohai frowned. "He's unwilling to say whether he loves her or not, whether he's worried or not. What kind of man is he?"

Lin Wanwan slapped his arm. "Are you stupid? Whether someone loves you or not isn't determined by what they say, but by what they do. Love is shown in small things and trivial matters."

"Why do you always defend him and blindly believe him?"
