Lu Feng said unhappily, "Then you'd better not use this kind of analogy in the future."
Lin Wanwan nudged him a few times with her elbow, "Move aside, I'm practicing calligraphy."
Lu Feng sat to one side reading a book, glancing up at her every now and then.
Lin Wanwan practiced until her wrists ached, then put down her pen and rubbed them.
“Come here,” Lu Feng said, reaching out his hand to her.
Lin Wanwan sat down next to him, stretched, and said in a coquettish tone, "I'm so tired."
Lu Feng massaged her wrist and said, "Want to sleep for a while?"
"I'm not going to sleep anymore, I'm hungry, I want to eat something."
Lu Feng massaged her for a while, then said, "Wait for me, I'll go see if there's anything to eat in the kitchen."
As soon as Lu Feng opened the door to go out, he saw two elderly people walking in from the outer courtyard. After recognizing them, Lu Feng said directly, "Auntie, why are you bringing all sorts of shady people into the house? Go to the outer courtyard and wait. Who are you looking for?"
Lin Wanwan was also surprised to hear him say such a thing. Although Lu Feng looked cold, he always spoke with great manners and would never say such a thing in front of guests.
Enemies? Lin Wanwan looked out the window curiously and only saw two elderly people supporting each other.
Lin Wanwan was even more surprised and stood up to walk out.
When Lu Feng saw Lin Wanwan come out, his expression softened considerably. He pulled her into his arms and asked, "Why did you come out?"
Lin Wanwan looked at the two elderly people in front of her with curiosity. "Who are they?"
The aunt was a little embarrassed. "Lu Feng, they said they were your maternal grandparents, that's why I brought them in."
Lu Feng interrupted with a cold face, "I don't have any maternal grandparents. Thirteen years ago, my maternal grandparents severed ties with us. They published a notice in the newspaper and wrote a letter of severance. Where did these so-called maternal grandparents come from? They're all liars. Please leave."
Lin Wanwan was surprised, but she didn't show it on her face. She just looked at the two old people in front of her with disdain.
Enraged, Song Zhou pointed at Lu Feng and said, "You bastard! We are your maternal grandparents, and you dare to disown us? You ill-mannered brat!!"
Lu Feng did not back down at all. "I am ill-mannered, but I am grateful for your kindness. If you hadn't angered my grandfather to death, I wouldn't be so ill-mannered. If it weren't for you, my father wouldn't have died in the Northwest. We are truly grateful for your care. Our Lu family will remember you for the rest of our lives."
Lin Wanwan hugged him and gently patted his back. It took a while for Lu Feng's stiff body to relax.
"Where's your mother?! Tell your mother to come out and see us! We gave birth to her and raised her, and she dares to neglect her elderly mother?!?"
Lu Feng looked coldly at the two people in front of him and said slowly, "What obligation does my mother have to support you? We've severed ties, what's the point of supporting you? She might as well raise a few more dogs, at least they know how to guard the house and won't drive the people she loves to their deaths."
Song Zhou pointed at him with trembling fingers, "You..." He looked around, found a wooden stick on the ground, and rushed up to hit Lu Feng.
Without thinking much, Lin Wanwan stepped in front of Lu Feng. The stick slid down her shoulder, grazed her, and although it didn't hurt much, Lin Wanwan still gasped in pain.
Lu Feng and Song Lanzhi inside the house were terrified. Lu Feng hugged her and asked, "Are you alright? What were you doing blocking the way?"
“I wasn’t there when he hurt you before, but now that I am, I can’t let him hurt you again.”
Lu Feng felt a pang of sadness, his eyes welling up. He held her shoulder and asked in a hoarse voice, "Are you alright?"
Song Lanzhi also ran out, her eyes red, clearly having just cried.
"Wanwan, are you alright?"
Lin Wanwan took her hand and comforted her, "It's okay, Mom, don't worry."
Song Lanzhi pulled her and Lu Feng behind her protectively, "What brings you two here today? Our Lu family and your Song family have no connection whatsoever anymore. What else do you want? You angered my father-in-law to death more than ten years ago and caused my husband's death. Now you want to come and beat my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson to death??"
Song Zhou pointed a wooden stick at her, "You...you unfilial daughter, how can you talk to your parents like that? You've been back for over three years and haven't come to see us even once. And now you dare to talk to us like this?"
Song Lanzhi stiffened her back and straightened up. "More than ten years ago, I was no longer your daughter. Have you forgotten because you're old? Do you want me to show you the disownment letter? You caused my father-in-law's death back then, and we didn't pursue it. Now you dare to come to my house and beat people up?"
Lin Wanwan came out and said to the aunt, "Please leave. We don't know anyone here. Don't let her in again if you see her in the future."
Lu Feng pulled her back, preventing her from going forward, but Lin Wanwan gestured to him that it was alright. "I'll go see her off. You help Mom back to rest and don't come out again."
Song Zhou pointed at her with trembling fingers, too angry to speak. The old lady next to him supported him, looking on with amusement.
Lin Wanwan suppressed her curiosity and led them outside.
The old lady who hadn't spoken until just as they stepped outside suddenly seemed furious. She lost her balance and fell to the side, eventually sitting down at the entrance of the Lu family's house.
Lin Wanwan sneered inwardly. Here it comes, she knew this would happen.
"It's our fault for not raising our daughter well. She doesn't recognize us at our age. It's because we're incompetent."
Lin Wanwan watched as she pounded her chest and wiped away non-existent tears from the corners of her eyes.
People in the alley are the most gossipy, especially since the Lu family is so rich. Who wouldn't be envious? Even people who usually greet each other would gather around to watch the show.
"How could you say that? You angered my grandfather to death and even severed ties with my mother. Now you've come to our door to accuse us. You can hit me all you want, but for the sake of the child in my belly, can you please let my family go?"
Lin Wanwan, not to be outdone, started singing opera, pretending to be about to faint while leaning against the door frame.
