Lu Feng stared at her for a long time without saying a word. Lin Wanwan looked up in confusion and, seeing him staring at her, asked with a smile, "What's wrong?"
"I'm impressed. I'll have to re-evaluate you from now on."
Lin Wanwan asked with a smile, "Are you underestimating me? Do you think our little squabble is nothing?"
Lu Feng chuckled, "It won't happen again."
"Don't worry, I'll take care of earning money to support you from now on."
Lu Feng smiled and said, "Okay, I'll be waiting."
I flipped through that huge pile of pictures; it had both autumn and winter clothes.
"How many shares of the factory did you give Brother Ren?"
"How much do you think is appropriate?" Lin Wanwan asked him with a smile, tilting her head.
"I really can't say for sure."
“I had him register a company with my dad, and he was listed as the legal representative. He also got 30% of the total shares in the company.”
"There are also shops near the factory; will they all be brought under the company?"
"Yes, that makes sense."
Lu Feng smiled and said, "When my older brother comes back, he'll be surprised to learn that our family has produced a remarkable businesswoman."
"Could you ask my older brother to help me make money then?"
"You're not as familiar with the domestic situation as I am, so I might have to ask you for advice later."
"Then let's do what's best for each other."
Lin Wanwan rested for a while and then continued drawing.
Ren Zijie came over in the evening, panting as he looked at Lin Wanwan.
"It's settled! It's settled!!"
Lin Wanwan looked at him in surprise, "You've negotiated the terms for both courtyards?"
Lu Feng handed him a glass of water, which Ren Zijie drank before continuing, "Yes, we've negotiated deals for both. We just need to bring the money tomorrow."
Lin Wanwan wasn't in a hurry. "Have you eaten?"
Ren Zijie shook his head.
"Wait a moment, I'll go ask Auntie to make something to eat."
Lu Feng pulled her aside, "I'll go, you two talk."
Lin Wanwan didn't refuse. Now that her belly was getting bigger, she felt tired after walking just a few steps.
"I plan to buy these two courtyards myself, without using the company's money."
Ren Zijie nodded, without asking why or expressing any dissatisfaction.
Lin Wanwan was a little surprised, "Why don't you ask me why?"
Ren Zijie also laughed, "There's just this much money in the account. If we buy houses with it all, I'll get less money. I know you're thinking of things for me and Yanyan."
This was the first reason Lin Wanwan considered. "It's not entirely because of that. Taking over the two courtyards would cost a lot of money for repairs and renovations. Also, I have my own selfish reasons. I really want that house too."
Lin Wanwan is not a saint, and naturally she has her own selfish motives. That place will be demolished in the future, and it is located in the very center. Lin Wanwan cannot possibly give up such a good house.
Ren Zijie smiled, not at all surprised by her frankness.
"Once the second payment arrives in Hong Kong, I'll give you a portion of it first."
Ren Zijie was a little surprised. "There's no need to rush. The company has many other expenses."
“If you and Yanyan want to buy a house, it’s better to buy it sooner rather than later. I’ll keep an eye out for one myself and see if there are any houses nearby with separate yards.”
Ren Zijie has considered buying a house, but he doesn't plan to do so so soon.
"Isn't it too early?"
"It's not too early. Houses will only get more and more expensive, and it's even harder to find a house with a separate yard. You should buy a house with a courtyard now, and you can upgrade later when you have more money."
Ren Zijie lowered his head to think, and Lin Wanwan didn't urge him, picking up the book beside her to read.
"I'll go back and discuss it with Yanyan."
"My suggestion is to buy a house first, and I can find someone to see if we can transfer your household registration here."
Ren Zijie's eyes lit up. "Can my household registration be transferred here?"
“I already asked Lu Feng to inquire about it before, but you don’t have a house here, so it’s difficult to arrange. I’m thinking of having you buy a house because I’m afraid the policies change every day, and what if it doesn’t work out again later?”
Ren Zijie was getting restless and wanted to go out and find a place to live right now.
Lin Wanwan almost laughed. Lu Feng came in and asked, "Is Auntie making it?"
"Yes, very soon."
Lin Wanwan mentioned signing the contract tomorrow, and Lu Feng nodded, "I'll go get the money tomorrow and go with you."
The next morning, Lin Wanwan and Lu Feng had breakfast and went out to get money first, and then to pick up Ren Zijie.
With the house issue settled, Lin Wanwan breathed a sigh of relief. The house was rented to the company under a private name, and Lin Wanwan entrusted Ren Zijie with the subsequent renovation work.
With a high salary comes a lot of work, so Lin Wanwan is happy to be a hands-off manager.
After only giving a general outline of the renovation plan, Lin Wanwan was ready to wash her hands of it.
The two didn't go back; instead, they went directly to the hospital for a prenatal checkup.
"Aunt Li, are you alright? It felt like the check-up took a long time today."
Li Li smiled and said, "It's okay. You're in your later stages of pregnancy, so it's normal for checkups to take longer. You and the baby are both doing well. You should also move around more often recently, so that the delivery will be easier."
Lin Wanwan nodded, "Aunt Li, when can I have a C-section?"
Li Li was a little surprised, "You're going to have a C-section?"
"Yeah, I want to get her out before school starts."
"Hahaha, what are you saying, kid?"
Li Li looked at the report and said, "It should be possible before the start of the semester. A C-section can be done at full term."
Lin Wanwan nodded, "I remember I'll be full-term in twenty days, right?"
"Yes, you remember it clearly."
"That's fine, it'll be okay before school starts."
On the way home, Lu Feng carefully observed Lin Wanwan's expression.
Feeling confused by his gaze, Lin Wanwan turned her head and asked him, "What? Just tell me."
"Are you alright? I was worried you were scared."
"I am quite scared, but you're here for me, and my due date is coming up soon, so I can't back down."
Lin Wanwan chuckled as she looked at him, "But you'd better be prepared, because I'll have a really ugly scar on my stomach from now on."
Lin Wanwan doesn't have stretch marks on her stomach, but she will definitely have scars after the surgery.
Lu Feng helped her out of the car. "Have some faith in me, okay? I'm not that shallow."
Lin Wanwan smiled and kissed him directly on the cheek. Seeing his reddened ears, Lin Wanwan was in an extremely good mood.
"Let's go inside, the sun is strong."
Lin Wanwan was still a little uneasy on the day Lu Anyang returned.
Living under the same roof from now on, I wonder if Lu Feng, this older brother, will be easy to get along with. He's thirty years old and still unmarried, and I heard he's doing quite well abroad.
Lin Wanwan sat in the living room with Tuanzi, waiting. Tuanzi is older now and won't stay quietly in one place; he just runs around everywhere.
Seeing him run towards the outer courtyard, Lin Wanwan quickly told her aunt to follow.
Judging by the time, the person should be arriving soon, so Lin Wanwan went to the kitchen to check on the food preparation.
A moment later, Lin Wanwan heard Song Lanzhi's voice, "Wanwan, we're back."
Lin Wanwan came out of the kitchen. "Mom, I'm in the kitchen."
Song Lanzhi pulled her back, "It's so hot, what are you doing in the kitchen? Come on, your older brother is here, come and see him."
