Lin Wanwan felt that Yin Meiyue was not only shameless but also a bit dim-witted. She had said such harsh things to Lu Feng at the bookstore that day, yet she still dared to come to her house.
Lin Wanwan came to the living room to find Song Lanzhi and Tuanzi. As soon as she entered, she saw Yin Meiyue sitting next to Song Lanzhi, laughing and talking. Tuanzi, who was in Song Lanzhi's arms, reached out to hug her when she saw her.
Just as Lin Wanwan was about to hug him, she heard Yin Meiyue say sarcastically, "Tuanzi doesn't let outsiders hug him, so you'd better not."
When Tuanzi saw that Lin Wanwan wasn't holding him, he kept calling out, "Mommy~ Mommy~ Mommy~" Lin Wanwan hugged and kissed him, "Good boy, Mommy will hold you. Our Tuanzi is such a good boy, only letting family members hold him, right?"
"Mom, I want to eat mung bean cake and jujube paste pastry," Lin Wanwan said to Song Lanzhi in a coquettish tone.
Song Lanzhi smiled and said, "I already had someone buy it. I asked my aunt to buy it, and I'll brew you a pot of Pu'er tea too, okay?"
“Okay, okay, thank you, Mom,” Lin Wanwan said with a smile.
Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, Yin Meiyue said, "I'm relieved to see that you get along well with Aunt Song. Aunt Song is a very good elder. Wanwan, don't be like you used to be."
Lin Wanwan, holding Tuanzi, looked at her and sneered, "What was I like before? Are you mistaken? Why do I feel like you're hoping for a falling out between me and my mother?"
Song Lanzhi also said, "Meiyue, don't talk nonsense in the future, and stop causing trouble."
Yin Meiyue smiled awkwardly, "I understand, Auntie."
When Lu Feng entered and saw Yin Meiyue there, his face darkened, and he asked, "And who is this?"
Lin Wanwan almost burst out laughing when she heard him ask that question.
“Brother Feng, why do you say that?” Yin Meiyue said, biting her lip.
Lu Feng sat down next to Lin Wanwan and suddenly realized, "Ah, the woman at the bookstore who likes to lay eggs with a clapping sound."
This time, Lin Wanwan couldn't hold back and burst out laughing.
"Aunt Song, I... why did Brother Lu Feng say that to me?" Yin Meiyue called out to Song Lanzhi pitifully, her eyes red.
Just as Song Lanzhi was about to speak, Lin Wanwan said, "Ah, is all you can do is 'cluck cluck cluck'? Have you finished laying the eggs?"
Yin Meiyue stood up, pointed at her nose, and said, "What did you say, you shameless woman?"
Song Lanzhi immediately put on a stern face and said, "Watch your mouth. Don't come to my house again. You're not welcome here."
Upon hearing Song Lanzhi's words, Yin Meiyue covered her face in anger and ran away.
"Mom, I made her run away, you won't blame me, will you?" Lin Wanwan asked.
Song Lanzhi smiled and said, "Wasn't it me who chased her away?"
"Mom is awesome! Mom is so good to me!" Lin Wanwan said sweetly.
Lu Feng chuckled, "I get the feeling you're quite smug, acting a bit like a bully using someone else's power."
"Of course, I only dare to be so arrogant to her because you and Mom protect me. Otherwise, how could I dare?" Lin Wanwan thought for a moment and continued, "Ah, but it's not necessarily true. If you and Mom like him but not me, I might slap her. Who told her to steal my husband and mother from me?"
Seeing that the two got along well, Song Lanzhi felt relieved. "Wanwan, I've had someone buy some things for you and Lu Feng to take with you. You can take a look later and see if you need anything else."
Lin Wanwan immediately cried out, "Mom, no, we can't take it with us! I'm just a little guy, how can I carry it? It's just Lu Feng, and we still have to take care of Tuanzi."
Song Lanzhi couldn't help but laugh out loud, "I didn't let you take them all. I'll send them over now, you don't need to take them."
"Mom, how much will it cost to send so much? It's just that it's inconvenient to buy it there, not that it's unavailable. Don't send any more, just send some malted milk powder to Tuanzi," Lin Wanwan genuinely felt that mailing was too expensive.
Song Lanzhi thought for a moment, "How about I let Xiao Hai go with you, help you out, and have some fun while we're at it? I'll call your mother and tell her."
Song Lanzhi immediately called He Yumei and explained the situation. The two of them thought it over and it seemed more and more feasible.
After she hung up the phone, Lin Wanwan turned to her and asked, "Are you really going to have my brother come with us?"
“I discussed it with your mom, and she said she’ll talk to your dad tonight and then call me back. It should be fine,” Song Lanzhi told her.
Lin Wanwan nodded, "As long as it doesn't delay his start of school."
"Don't worry, if it doesn't work out, don't ask him to go. We can just take some things we can carry with us," Lu Feng said, putting his arm around her.
In the end, Lin's parents decided that Lin Xiaohai would go with them and come back before the start of the new semester.
Lin Wanwan called home to ask Lin Xiaohai if he was willing to go. If he wasn't, he wouldn't go. But to her surprise, Lin Xiaohai was overjoyed when he found out he was going.
Seeing him like this, Lin Wanwan didn't say anything, only telling him to bring some books so she could help him with his homework on the train. Ignoring Lin Xiaohai's wailing, she hung up the phone directly.
"Don't push him too hard, it will backfire," Lu Feng said, holding her.
“I know, but no matter what, if I leave, he’ll be all alone at home. If he’s a little immature, he’ll drive his parents crazy. Besides, it’s not just him studying; I have to study too,” Lin Wanwan understood the logic. “Besides, if he doesn’t study, what does he want to do? Does he want to hang out with that bunch of bad friends for the rest of his life? I thought you would leave me in Beijing, so I was thinking of bringing him here to live with us. It’s close to Peking University High School, so I can keep an eye on him every day.”
Lu Feng kissed her forehead. "I won't leave you in Beijing. I'm worried you won't want to come to Gansu with me. The conditions there aren't as good as in Beijing."
Lu Feng was actually quite uneasy. Although the Lin family's conditions were not as good as the Lu family's, Lin Wanwan had never suffered since she was a child. The conditions there were not good, the environment was not good, and it was not as convenient to buy things as in the capital.
Lin Wanwan, who had been leaning against him, hugged him back after hearing what he said. "How hard is it? Will you make me dig up grass to eat? Or eat tree bark? You're a battalion-level officer, you can't possibly let me starve to death, can you? Although I really like pretty clothes and delicious food, I don't necessarily need those things. Compared to these, I'd rather be with you."
