Lin Wanwan noticed that he was visibly startled.
You don't think I'm thirty, do you?
"No, not really. You're married and have children. I thought you were at least in your twenties."
Lin Wanwan sighed, "Young marriage, there's nothing we can do about it."
"Wanwan!"
Lin Wanwan turned around, saw Mu Lin, and waved to him.
"Here, what are you doing here?"
"I was worried about you, so I came to check if you've finished."
"No, I didn't go. This is Zhang Wen from the School of Economics, a freshman."
Mu Lin nodded to Zhang Wen, then turned to Lin Wanwan and asked, "Shall we go eat?"
Lin Wanwan looked at him strangely, "What time is it for dinner? Little Lin, are you a glutton?"
"Miss, it's 6:30."
"Oh, really? Have I been sitting here for that long?"
Lin Wanwan glanced at her watch. "It really is 6:30."
Looking at Zhang Wen, he said, "Let's go eat, Mu Lin is treating."
"Why should I treat you?" Mu Lin asked, looking at her.
"We're not treating, so you can treat us."
Zhang Wen stood up and said, "I'm not going. I'm going back to my dorm."
Lin Wanwan called out to him, "Stand still."
Zhang Wen turned around and looked at her with a puzzled expression.
"Let's go together. Mu Lin is a big spender, let's rip him off."
"Let's go, junior," Mu Lin said casually. He didn't know why Lin Wanwan had invited this boy along.
The three of them went to the cafeteria together.
What a small world! I ran into Jian Sui here.
Jian Sui's face darkened when he saw Mu Lin, Lin Wanwan, and Zhang Wen enter the cafeteria together.
Lin Wanwan smiled and said, "What a coincidence, Young Master Jian."
Jian Sui glared at Lin Wanwan for a long time before saying, "It is quite a coincidence, President Lin."
"Want to eat together?"
"No, no need to bother you, I'm eating with my friends."
After ordering, Mu Lin asked her, "What's wrong?"
Lin Wanwan feigned ignorance, "What? What's wrong?"
Mu Lin leaned back in her chair and looked at her. "Did Jian Sui offend you?"
"Does he dare?"
"That's because you caught me messing with a junior student."
"I don't know who Jian Sui took after. He seems to have a long brain, but it's not like he doesn't. He's quite mysterious."
Mu Linhe and Zhang Wen were both amused by her.
"How did Jian Sui get into our school? I suddenly start to doubt my own intelligence."
“If he doesn’t pass the exam, he and his mother will have nothing to eat.”
"Tsk, serves him right."
Zhang Wen looked at Lin Wanwan and said, "Thank you for today."
Lin Wanwan looked up at him and said, "I'm very uneasy seeing you like this. Do you think I can't tell that he's bullying you because of me? Are you stupid too? I'm paying you to do this part-time job."
Zhang Wen laughed out loud, "No, my IQ is pretty good. I'm the top science student in our area."
"I don't want to hear it," Lin Wanwan turned her face away, "If you say that, wouldn't I have to give you a raise?"
Lin Wanwan looked at him and said, "Why don't you come to the company as a mascot? You can protect the house, ensure safety, and bring wealth."
"I really don't know this skill right now."
Lin Wanwan immediately became happy, "Then can you sign a contract of servitude in advance?"
"A contract of servitude?"
"Yes, once you sign a labor contract, you're essentially selling yourself into servitude for five or ten years."
Mu Lin laughed uncontrollably, "You're like a skinflint!"
"Can you put it nicely? This is called a capitalist, not some skinflint."
The three of them had a great time, eating and chatting. Jian Sui watched them laughing and talking from behind, his teeth practically grinding together in frustration.
"Young Master Jian, are you really just going to let that poor bastard go like that?"
Jian Sui looked away and poked at the rice in her bowl. "If you're not afraid, then go ahead."
He pointed at Lin Wanwan with his chopsticks and said, "I can't afford to mess with that woman. If you have the guts, you can try."
"She can't be watching us every second, we'll find an opportunity."
"Then go ahead and try, and see if you guys get fired first, or if you get to kill that poor bastard first."
Jian Sui threw down his chopsticks, got up, and left.
The remaining people looked at each other in bewilderment.
Lin Wanwan also noticed the commotion.
What if they continue to bully you?
Zhang Wen smiled and said, "Those guys are all lackeys; they have no real strength."
Lin Wanwan didn't say anything, but gave him a thumbs up.
After finishing their meal, Zhang Wen said goodbye to the two, explaining that he was going to the library anyway.
After Mu Lin watched him walk away, she lowered her head and asked Lin Wanwan.
How did you meet?
"I went to the principal's office and found him being cornered in the woods by Jian Sui and his men. I was so righteous, I rushed over and unleashed a barrage of attacks to save the handsome young man."
"handsome?"
Lin Wanwan looked at him, puzzled. "Is that the point?"
“Isn’t this it?” Mu Lin looked into her eyes.
Lin Wanwan rolled her eyes speechlessly, "Not as handsome as you."
Mu Lin tapped her on the head.
"Are you going to help him?"
"It doesn't matter who you help, just help if you encounter someone like that."
"Is he among the people you sponsor at school?"
"It should be. I guess someone at school was spreading rumors about me before, and he spoke up for me. Jian Sui found out about it, and Jian Sui and I already had a grudge."
When did this happen?
Lin Wanwan briefly recounted how Bai Ying had been bullied before.
"I'm not entirely sure how this was resolved in the end, but Jian Sui and his mother came over to apologize in person. My mother said he had a bruised and swollen face. At first, I thought Xia Yang had hit him. I even thought it was because Xia Yang looked so refined that he would hit someone. Later, I found out that Jian Sui had somehow offended Xia Yang and had been beaten up by Jiang Dongsheng."
"Hahahaha, serves him right."
Lin Wanwan smiled happily.
