Lin Wanwan immediately perked up, "Listen, listen, listen!!!"
Lu Anyang recounted several embarrassing incidents from his childhood.
Lin Wanwan collapsed onto the sofa, laughing uncontrollably.
"Lu Feng was so cute when he was little."
When Lu Feng came in, Lin Wanwan was lying on the sofa, laughing so hard she couldn't stand up straight.
"What are you laughing at?"
"Is dinner ready?" Lu Anyang pretended nothing had happened and went to the dining room to eat.
Lin Wanwan was still lying on the sofa, laughing non-stop.
"What are you laughing at?"
Lin Wanwan cupped his face and smiled, "Lu Feng, you were so cute when you were little."
Lu Feng raised an eyebrow. "My brother talked about things from when I was a kid?"
"Hmm, you're so cute, Lu Feng. Why have you become so serious now?"
Lu Feng pulled her out the door, "Let's go, let's go eat."
Lin Wanwan noticed that Lu Feng's ears were red and his expression was a little unnatural.
"Are you shy?"
Lu Feng didn't say anything, but led her to the dining room.
"You're here? Come and eat! Lu Feng, are you hungry? Want to eat something together?"
"Stop eating, or you'll starve to death."
"That's so vicious! I'm your own brother."
"Lu Feng, would you like something to eat?"
Lu Feng sat down next to Lin Wanwan. "I'll eat with you."
As they were going to bed that night, Lin Wanwan couldn't help but ask, "Are you and your brother so close?"
"Yes, my dad used to be very busy and didn't have much time to take care of us. My mom and dad were very loving and devoted herself to him."
Lu Feng hugged her and rubbed against her.
“Grandpa basically took care of me and my older brother. Since Grandpa's energy was limited, my brother took care of me instead. When I was bullied or cheated out of money, he was the one who helped me. He even taught me how to fight. When I was little, I was soft-hearted. People in this circle always had ways to bully others. I used to be the one who was often bullied.”
"Later, you started bullying others?"
Lu Feng chuckled in a deep voice, "Is that so?"
"You told Jiang Dong that Xia Yang and Zhou Ming knew each other since childhood?"
"Yeah, we grew up together. Jiang Dongsheng and Zhou Ming were the biggest bullies, but I don't think they ever bullied me. They even helped me. But we got into a fight and that's when our relationship improved. His family was all in the military, but he was the only one who went against the grain and insisted on doing business. I don't know how many times Grandpa Jiang beat him."
"I remember you said before that Young Master Jiang was a soldier, wasn't he?"
"After serving for a few years and even going to the front lines, I eventually retired from the army. I kept it a secret from Grandpa Jiang, which angered him so much that he ended up in the hospital."
"And now?"
"I'm still in the military now, but my heart is still in business. I'm just trying to find new ways to do things."
"No wonder he agreed so readily to that piece of land before."
"He does indeed have many things that are inconvenient for him to show his face."
"Okay, let's play the role of tools and take the bullets for Young Master Jiang, right?"
"That's not wrong, but as long as the benefits Young Master Jiang gives are real and tangible, that's fine."
Lin Wanwan thought about it and agreed. It's good to have a powerful backer. With Young Master Jiang protecting her, she wouldn't have to worry about being bothered in the future.
Lin Xiaohai stayed at the Lu family's house for a few days before Lin Wanwan sent him to his maternal grandparents' house.
"You finally have a holiday, so come and spend some time with your grandparents."
"Sis, are you worried that I'm under too much pressure, so you're giving me things to do?"
"More or less."
"Don't worry, I've taken everything you said to heart the other day. I won't put too much pressure on myself, but I will definitely study hard and do well on the exam."
"Of course you should work hard. I just want you to know that my parents' and my greatest hope is that you will have no regrets."
"I know, sis. You're only two years older than me, but you can come up with such a logical argument."
Don't be ungrateful.
"Sis, really, thank you."
"Why the sudden formality? Did we need to be like this before?"
"I don't know, but I think it's still necessary."
Have you decided which school you want to attend?
Lin Xiaohai looked at her without saying a word.
"Our school?"
Lin Xiaohai nodded.
So all that I said was for nothing?
"No, I just thought your school was pretty good, but after going to shoot targets with my brother-in-law the other day, I also thought military academies were pretty good."
"Haha, okay, then you'd better work hard, these two schools are not easy to get into."
"Sis, why do you never ask me about my grades anymore?"
"You're so self-disciplined in your studies, why would I ask you about your grades? Besides, sometimes studying also depends on talent, and sometimes hard work doesn't guarantee a reward, although it might sound a bit cruel."
"Indeed, there is a boy in our class who works very hard, but his exam results are never very good. I have seen him cry secretly several times. His family is not well-off, so he is desperately trying to get into a good university and wants to study medicine."
Why do you want to study medicine?
“His mother is sick, so he said he doesn’t want to see others suffer like him, having to face the pain of their loved ones being plagued by illness, and being powerless to help them.”
"I see. Are you close to him?"
"He's alright, but he works very hard and usually doesn't have time to play with me. He said he envies me and that I'm very capable, unlike him, who works so hard but doesn't see any results. But he doesn't feel jealous at all. Sometimes when I don't know how to do a math problem, he patiently explains it to me. I think he's very capable, but I don't know why his test scores are always not ideal."
"Hmm, this might be because he's under too much psychological pressure. Do you know where your classmate lives?"
"I know," Lin Xiaohai replied without much thought, giving the address.
