"Lu Feng should be working overtime and hasn't come back yet."
I guessed it.
Aren't you angry?
"What's there to be angry about? He's busy with work, not out fooling around."
"He hardly has any time for you, don't you mind?"
"We're not elementary school students, do we have to be glued together every day? Besides, I'm pretty busy too, aren't I? We both have relative freedom."
“Absolute possession with relative freedom,” Lu Anyang muttered to himself.
Lin Wanwan didn't say anything more.
Lu Feng hadn't returned by the time they finished eating, so Lin Wanwan sat in the living room until 11 o'clock. When he still hadn't come back, she went back to her room.
Half asleep in the middle of the night, Lin Wanwan felt someone hugging her.
Lin Wanwan mumbled sleepily, "What time is it? Why are you only just getting back?"
Lu Feng hugged her and kissed her. "Go to sleep."
Lin Wanwan found a comfortable position in his arms and fell asleep again.
The next day was the weekend, and Lin Wanwan slept in without getting up.
When she woke up, she found that Lu Feng hadn't gotten up either, and was sleeping soundly with her in his arms.
Lin Wanwan glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table; it was already 10:30.
Lu Feng's voice was low and deep, "Awake?"
"Mmm," Lin Wanwan hugged him and rubbed against him. "What time did you get back? I waited in the living room until eleven o'clock before going back to my room."
Lu Feng hugged and kissed her for a while before letting go. "You only got back at two in the morning. Don't wait for me next time."
"That won't do. I can't sleep well without you."
Lu Feng was in a good mood. He hugged her and kissed her for a while before asking, "Shall we get up?"
"Okay, get up, I'm hungry."
Not seeing Lu Anyang during the meal, Lin Wanwan couldn't help but ask, "Is Big Brother busy all weekend?"
"I think he went out last night, probably because he was busy at the company."
"Oh," Lin Wanwan said nothing more.
When Song Lanzhi recounted what happened yesterday, Lu Feng frowned and looked at Lin Wanwan, "Are you alright?"
"It's okay. Do I look like someone who's easy to bully?"
Lu Feng's eyes were full of guilt. "I'm sorry I couldn't be by your side."
Lin Wanwan chuckled softly, put down her chopsticks, and took his arm. "Don't say sorry, just spend time with me today?"
Lu Feng looked down at her, smiling happily, and said, "Okay, I'll stay with you all day."
After dinner, Lin Wanwan and Lu Feng took a walk in the yard, while the two children played soccer in the yard.
"Has Bai Ying's matter been resolved?"
"Pretty much. The Wang family doesn't have time to cause trouble for Bai Ying right now; their company is about to go under."
Lu Feng smiled. "Thinking of making an acquisition?"
"I don't want that lousy company, it's a bunch of garbage. I'm just getting revenge."
Didn't the Wang family go to find Bai Ying?
"Bai Ying is temporarily staying at her maternal grandfather's house. She's fine without them, but Brother Gu Bei is worried about them to death."
Lin Wanwan smiled.
Lu Feng thought she looked like a mother basking in the sun, appearing lazy and listless.
"How has your godmother been feeling lately? Shall we go visit her tomorrow?"
"Okay, I asked Dr. Jin the other day. He said my health has improved a lot, and I've even gained some weight."
“Then let’s go take a look tomorrow. Zhou Ming sent over two ginseng roots the other day, let’s bring one with us.”
Lin Wanwan looked up at him and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you."
Lu Feng couldn't resist pinching her cheek. "When did you become so well-behaved?"
"I've always been this well-behaved."
Seeing her aunt running over, Lin Wanwan called out to her, "What's wrong?"
"An older woman came in from outside, saying her surname was Wang and she wanted to see you."
"See me? Your surname is Wang?"
The aunt nodded.
Lin Wanwan knew who it was without even having to guess. "If you don't want to see them, just say I don't know them and tell them to get lost."
The aunt understood, nodded, and ran out again.
"He came to ask you for help?"
"I don't care what he thinks. The Wang family will go bankrupt sooner or later. I just accelerated the process."
"My wife is amazing."
Lu Feng patted her head.
Lin Wanwan shook her head. "You've always been amazing. You didn't just find out now, did you?"
As the two were talking, Lu Anyang walked in from the outer courtyard.
"Big brother," Lin Wanwan called out, squinting her eyes.
"Still taking a walk?"
"Just about to go inside."
Lu Feng looked at him and asked, "Why didn't you come back for dinner?"
Lu Anyang smiled and said, "I'm over thirty years old, it's normal for me to have my own things to do."
The three entered the house, and the aunt brought in tea.
Lu Anyang took a sip of tea and asked, "Are the people at the door from Wang Jin's family?"
"Um."
"Don't push people too far, or they might do something desperate."
Lin Wanwan chuckled lightly, "Jump over the wall? I'm afraid that's out of the question."
"Have you caught Wang Jin red-handed?"
Lin Wanwan smiled at Lu Anyang, "Pretty much. He'll be rotting in jail. He probably won't have the chance to cause me any more trouble."
Lu Feng looked down at her. "Wang Jin is dealing drugs?"
Lin Wanwan was surprised; only she and Ren Zijie knew about this.
"How did you guess? Only Brother Ren and I know about this."
"Then you can rest assured, Wang Jin has been arrested."
Lin Wanwan looked up at him.
"Is this what you were busy with last night? What does this have to do with your Ministry of National Defense?"
“He smuggled drugs in from abroad. We were just cooperating with his work; we weren’t involved.”
"No wonder his mother came to block my way today."
Lu Anyang raised an eyebrow. "How did you find out? That Wang Jin is very cunning."
"Isn't Brother Ren's sister, Ren Ziqi, with him? That day, she had a drug withdrawal and Brother Ren caught her red-handed at the KTV."
“Brother Ren was also extremely disappointed in her. We investigated for a long time and finally found a clue. Ren Ziqi asked Brother Ren for a lot of money in the middle of the process. Brother Ren didn’t give it to her every time. We kept an eye on her for a long time and finally gave the lead to an alumnus of mine who happened to be in the anti-drug department.”
"Senior? You know a senior who's a police officer?"
“He studied criminal law, and his research lab offered a course in criminal psychology that I wanted to study. I met him when I audited a class.”
"You're quite good at keeping secrets."
"It's not that I don't want to talk about it, I'm afraid of alerting him. If I let someone like him get away, I'll regret it for the rest of my life."
Wang Jin's mother stayed outside until 5 p.m. before leaving.
Lin Wanwan made a phone call to confirm that Wang Jin had indeed been arrested, as had Ren Ziqi.
Wang Jin smuggled a considerable amount of drugs overseas and was caught red-handed. He'll be locked up for life with no chance of appeal.
Lin Wanwan knew nothing about the specific details.
Ren Ziqi was sent to a drug rehabilitation center, and Ren Zijie never visited her.
Lin Wanwan told Bai Ying what she knew.
Bai Ying remained silent for at least five minutes on the other end of the phone.
It took so long that Lin Wanwan almost thought she had hung up.
"Thank goodness I ran away. If I hadn't, wouldn't he have killed not only me, but also my brother?"
Lin Wanwan thought about the relationship. At first, Lin Wanwan thought that Wang Jin's target was her behind Bai Ying, and even Bai Ying thought so.
However, Lin Wanwan later learned that he was a drug dealer and slowly realized that Wang Jin's initial target was Bai Qi and Gu Bei.
It's terrifying to think about. Luckily, Bai Ying ran away quickly, otherwise, she wouldn't be the only one trapped in this mess.
